brandy I am mykids!!! I don't really post on msn can't be bothered, I only really posted on here because i came on MN anyway! Hope you are well, I am feeling crapola at the moment, had to cancel an m and s casting today cause we all got the flu!

Tinkerbel5 · 15/02/2007 17:30

suz I would assume you would get a contract in the post rather than in your hand if you would have had to go up to their offices.

suz29 - my dd is with kids london, has been for almost 6 months and had 7 jobs and 1 casting, we never signed a contract or went to their offices, at every job my dd has been at there have been other children from kids london aswell as bruce and brown and urban angels, they are in my opinion one of the top 4 london agencies hth.

yackertyyack · 15/02/2007 17:56

Suz
Kids London don't do contracts. They will send you a copy of their 'terms' but thats it. How old is your littley???

dreadlocks · 15/02/2007 17:58

Hi Jamillie,
My little one is not so little, i don't usually post on here as most people have babies /toddlers . My son is 10 . Not so many in his age group but then again not so much call for older children.
Scallywags do have a lot of little ones but then they are well known for having a good selection.
I wouldn't worry to much about not having a casting yet, the phone will ring when you least expect it.
All jobs/castings we have been to have involved other Scallywags children of various ages and all the mothers I have spoken too get plenty of work for their children (sometimes too much and they have to turn jobs down).
Initial outlay is high but my son made it back very quickly so I can't see us changing.
Hope this helps

suz29 · 15/02/2007 17:58

she is 17 months, so not sure if there is a lot of work for that age or just if her look isnt in at the mo! I will keep my fingers crossed for a call then. Does anyone chase up their agencies or is that a bad idea??

ellismummy · 15/02/2007 18:35

suz, my ds has just joined truly s, so it is good to hear that they do get work for their kids, although we have been with them since beginning of Jan and not heard a thing yet
What did they mean by a permanent contract, how long would that be for? were you happy with them as an agency?

suz29 · 15/02/2007 19:34

ellismummy, My dd joined Truly on a short term contract, we paid a small fee for her to go on the website and then sent in pics regularly. I think it took at least a month until we got her first job. I was happy with them but towards the end the castings seemed to stop. I think they have favourites and promote these a lot for a while but I could be wrong. I made sure I sent in new pics regularly and I think that helps and I also used to email them about 6 at a time so they could choose the best one to use. They asked last Sep if we wanted to extend her contract and put her in the 2007 model book, I think the cost was over £200 but at the time it looked like i was going back to work so we didnt.
If you do get any jobs it takes forever (6 months plus) to get paid but I think this might be the norm?!

ellismummy · 15/02/2007 20:01

suz, we paid a high fee for 1 yr and to go in the model book, I think you are doing the right thing going with kl as they dont charge high fees and get loads of work, kl wouldnt accept ds as we are not in london.

julie4travel · 15/02/2007 21:13

the esprit kids winners have been announced link is

www.esprit.com/kids/en/index.php

re scallywags - my ds was 3- 4 with scallywags and only had one job in a year no castings or anything. they had high fees which we didnt earn back from the one job. very professional company , photos some of the best we have had. quick to do web amendments etc

Housemum · 15/02/2007 23:26

Quad - sorry to hear you have flu - yuk - hope you feel better soon. Bummer to get it at half term.

Quick question to all - A few people on here went to the Boden casting I think - has anyone heard anything yet?

BigmummaL · 16/02/2007 00:16

ds had casting with Tesco yesterday for baby and toddler magazine. It seemed to go really well and from the way the lady was talking it appeared as though he had the job. Have not heard back from the agency though yet and the shoot is one day next week. Oh well, had a lovely day out whatever happens!

suz29 · 17/02/2007 12:22

Thanks to those who replied to me about Kids London, spookily got a call from them yest, daughter has a casting on Tues for Blooming Marvellous.

suz29 · 17/02/2007 12:46

Hi all, I've only just read the earlier messages from this month. Noticed people were talking about boden. My daughter went to a mini boden casting last year, they loved her when she was there and we were told she got the job, were given all details etc and then night before the agency phoned to say they didn't need her after all I was gutted!

mythumbelinas · 17/02/2007 13:19

suz29, that wasn't nice of boden!
Good luck with KL tho, and with blooming marvellous casting too. Mine are also with KL

Tinkerbel5 · 17/02/2007 13:43

ellismummy · 17/02/2007 15:40

good luck for tues suz, let us know how you get on.

2ManyPimms · 19/02/2007 10:19

Suz - It happened with DS and Ted Baker. Talk about disappointing!!! Good luck with BM!

Had a call for a casting for M&S last week but we were in Gloucestershire looking at houses and couldn't go. Drat. We don't expect to hear anyting from Boden which is a shame coz it would be DS's last shoot before we move to the sticks.

clj118 · 19/02/2007 10:42

Hi all,

Good luck to all those with castings, had a call last week about boden casting for wed for dd1, its at the worx, otherwise not heard anything!

BigmummaL · 19/02/2007 15:08

Good luck to all those going on castings / jobs this week. Still not heard anything from Tesco. They said that the shoot would be Wed, Thurs or Fri so I very much doubt if ds got it.

totallyfloaty35 · 19/02/2007 18:06

Ragamuffin · 19/02/2007 21:12

Hello everyone!!!

Been so long since I was last one here that I hope I'm still remembered! We have been without our broadband connection since Christmas Day and have finally managed to get signed up and back on-line with a new provider. I am in web surfer's heaven and probably won't leave the computer now for days.....except for vital functions.

We have had a slow start to the modelling yr. DS did a photoshoot job for Phillips at end Jan. He and another boy were photographed pretending to play computer games on TV screen. Don't have any idea where it will appear so would you all look out for it for me???? DS is fairhaired and wearing a khaki green and grey long sleeve T-shirt and other boy was dark haired with a white T-shirt and light green V-necked pullover jersey on top of the T.

Apart from that we have had one modelling casting and 2 TV Ad castings...........one of which DS was "pencilled" for, but didn't get it in the end.

Also discovered in a recent trip to Tesco that DS has finally appeared on the toy packaging from the job he did in Sept. He appears on 2 sets of Spy Games and on an Inflatable Football Set.

totally......well done on the job for your LO for tomorrow. Hope it goes really well.

totallyfloaty35 · 19/02/2007 21:59

Hi ragga, great to see you back, will you be on msn?

BigmummaL · 19/02/2007 22:01

Well done Totally, that's great news, you'll have to let us know how it goes. Is it for Tesco baby & toddler magazine? x

totallyfloaty35 · 19/02/2007 22:09
