HI!My son is with Cheekykidz but had not castings since we signed him with them.Even if the owner is really nice I've decided to change agency.I got a NO from Elisabeth Smith and Bruce&Brown.Still waiting to hear from Kids London and MOT and at Alphabet Kids are willing to take him on their books. Is anyone with them? Are they good?
Thanks,Lula

totallyfloaty35 · 09/02/2007 19:22

Emma, childsplay been going for years, however they have huge start up costs and i never see any of their kids at castings, try some others before you accept them

crazylazydaisy · 09/02/2007 21:40

Hi all, anyone on here with Scallywags? Have paid them a painful amount of money and had a few castings - that cost me about £45 a time to get to- but heard nothing since about October. Any info greatly appreciated!

lizzymouse69 · 09/02/2007 23:10

Hi

Is anyone still waiting for U/A photos to be updated on their website?? I thought it may have been the end of Jan but still heard nothing.

Thanks

Tinkerbel5 · 09/02/2007 23:48

crazylady just give the agency a ring and ask them if there is anything in the pipleline as it seems to be picking up now, do you have a boy or girl and how old ?

dreadlocks · 12/02/2007 16:26

Hi CrazyLazyDaisy,
yes we have been with Scallywags for over a year and have had many jobs over that time but they do seem to be like buses. Last year we had a 7 month gap with only one casting and then 2 jobs in 2 weeks. nothing in Jan but 2 jobs already this month.
£45.00 is a lot to be paying out on travel especailly for castings that do not turn into jobs.
If you need more details email me

Just had a call from UA regarding a casting for Tesco magazine for DS on either Wed or Thurs. Is anyone else going?

perfumelady · 12/02/2007 19:57

BigmummaL no not doing this one but did the last one, there weren't loads of kids at the casting and i went in with dd and the panel are sat round a table and they just ask the child questions, that is asumming they do it that way this time, they ask things like have you done any modelling before (my dd just said yes!!, i was hoping she would maybe go into some of what she had done but no, she just said yes!!), where do you live etc my dd looked at me every time they asked a question, i wished that i was not in there with her. everyoneone was in and out within about 3 minutes.

totallyfloaty. i was also hugely disappointed with my dd's u/a photo's, last years where fab.

can some one let me know if i am excepted on msn [email protected] thanks

crazylazydaisy · 12/02/2007 19:59

Thanks Tinkerbel and Dreadlocks for the info. It is such a lot to pay out with nothing back but i live outside London so i suppose im to blame!!
Maybe something will come through soon, but then i have to find the fare first so am in a bit of a quandery to be honest. Its hard to know how many castings to go to before i throw in the towel as i have to find extra shifts to cover the losses. If i knew ds would be one of a few to go and have a high chance i would be more prepared to go to them, but when you get to the castings and there is 20 others in front of you........ maybe i have just answered my problem myself! But then i will never get my initial outlay back. Ho hum, we'll see what turns up

BigmummaL · 12/02/2007 20:58

Thanks for the info perfumelady. I hope they don't ask DS questions as he is only 10.5 months and his vocabulary is limited to mumma, dadda & nan!! lol That's a bit daunting too with a panel, but still it is all experience. x

brandy7 · 12/02/2007 20:59

brandy7 · 13/02/2007 15:17

perfume, is mykids still about? i used to be 7up when i came on here

lizzymouse69 · 13/02/2007 16:23

Hi

Thanks Marymay and Perfumelady. Phoned U/A yesterday and spoke to Sarah. She said cos we had photos done on last sunday of nov they prob wouldnt be ready till end of feb. They sent me a sample one which looked nice.

perfumelady · 13/02/2007 18:05

brandy7 how have you been? not sure about mykids it's been a while since i've been regular on here and many of them are on the msn group now so maybe she is on there or maybe she is under a differant name. so are your lol's still doing modelling?

lizzymouse69 when we were new to u/a last year our photo's took ages to arrive but they did come eventually , they won't forget you how old is your little one?

brandy7 · 13/02/2007 18:09

hi perfume, no, my ds did the one casting then he was in/out hospital so much i gave it up. too be honest it wasnt my cup of tea, the castings are like cattle markets arent they. hope yours are doing well

lizzymouse69 · 13/02/2007 19:33

Hi Perfumelady

He 18 months and is getting bit of a handful at the moment. Prob not the best age to do modelling!!

mysonsmummy · 13/02/2007 19:42

we must have been lucky so far because we've never had a casting thats like a cattle market.

Jamillie · 14/02/2007 23:23

Hi there. Just replying to the Scallywags thing. I signed up with them at the end of December and have heard nothing at all. Is it worth phoning them? My DD is 8 months, but there seem to be a lot of a similar age on the website. Haven't even had a casting.

Crazy - any luck? Did you call them?
Dreadlocks - how old is your little one? Is it better to let them know you're there by calling or does that not help?

Thanks in advance if anyone has any useful tips.

totallyfloaty35 · 15/02/2007 10:10

jam, hearing nothing for a couple of monthes is not unusual, when it gets to about 6month of nothing, then give them a call.It can be really quiet dec and jan anyway, goodluck

crazylazydaisy · 15/02/2007 12:58

Hi Jamille, no i havent called them yet - half term and ds poorly etc. But i will next week when back to normal.I dont know quite what to do tbh, its such a faff getting to the castings for no comeback. Let me know if you have anything too - our ds different age groups so no comp between us!

crazylazydaisy · 15/02/2007 12:59

Oops, sorry Jamillie, i mean your ds not dd

crazylazydaisy · 15/02/2007 13:05

What on earth is the matter with me? DD not DS - sorry again!!!!

suz29 · 15/02/2007 15:01

Hi all, my dd was registered with Truly last year for about 6 months, in that time she did 6 jobs and had various castings but when offered a permanent contract I declined as I thought I was going back to work. Last month I sent her pics off to Kids London, they sent back saying they would take her on but didn't need to see her. I'm just a bit sus as no contract and they didn't ask me to get a doc to sign her off as healthy. Anyone else with Kids London and no contract?? Thanks
