allalone Tony Hancock sadly was not before my time Grin !!! I am ancient these days.

Mouseinahole · 17/11/2016 07:25

Hi Zombie
Did they mention a phase one trial called SYD85? It is showing excellent results. It is Herceptin based. Are you Her2+?
My friend has had bc for 26 years and secondaries for 12! Her last chemo was Kadcycla which played havoc with her platelets. She is waiting to
hear from the Marsden about her eligibility for this trial. I hope you are given some options.
Good Luck

Fiderer · 17/11/2016 07:29

Bruises from the tube journey? Bloody hell.

Speedy call from the Registrar is impressive.

I would cross all limbs for you but I might then fall off the chair again so I'll send positive vibes and a virtual Jameson infusion.

IamtheZombie · 17/11/2016 09:11

Morning!

So many questions from you all. I'll no doubt miss some...

Option 1 or Option 2? I'll just be grateful if I qualify for either. Option 1 is more established. Option 2 is a Phase 1 Trial which means it's the first time the drug or regime has been tested on humans.

That brings me to Mouseinahole's question. I didn't actually take in the name of the Option 2 trial but from your description, I think that is probably the one. I am "heavily" HER2+ and it is Kadcyla that has buggered my platelets. The possible treatment is also Herceptin based. I'll confirm with the Registrar when she rings later today.

Toing and froing: I won't know until I try. The Option that would require the most of that is based at the Sutton site. My tentative idea would be to travel down the day before any appointment and stay in a nearby hotel that night and the night of the appointment before driving home the next day.

Oh, nearly missed Wolfie's question about location. All treatment (IF any is possible) will have to be at the Marsden.

BBB, my friends arrive later today. They are coming to take care of me so that won't be stressful at all. I should do a bit of tidying before they arrive so the 3 dogs don't get into anything too dangerous.

Fid, I do bruise VERY easily. Arsehole commuter behaviour didn't help though...

Bloody commuters knocking our Zombie about. I don't get on well in That There London. I'm too vocal about rude behaviour so I end up looking like a corner prophet, frothing at the mouth....

HerRoyalFattyness · 17/11/2016 12:36

I'll come and knock commuters about for you zombie I don't mind punching people Wink

Susiesoap7 · 17/11/2016 12:37

Glad you got that over with zombie, enjoy your day with your friends, you are very brave I can't even get on a train on my own, I'm a terrible wimp! 🤑

Wolfiefan · 17/11/2016 13:39

Bugger to travelling to the Marsden but hoping for good news re possible treatment.
Perhaps Zombie should paint face, wear zombie costume and mutter about brains (whilst slathering wildly) when on the Tube! Sure the bloody commuters would back off then! Grin

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 17/11/2016 15:04

Just heard about tornadoes in your area Z!

Hope you're OK, I'm glad you have friends with you WineSmile

iklboo · 17/11/2016 15:06

Noooo! Zombie should be polite, cheerful, chatty & helpful when on the tube. Make lots of eye contact. That should guarantee a fifty foot clear radius around her Grin

Mummylin · 17/11/2016 15:23

I don't understand how Zombie got bruised with all the arms and things she must have. Hope good news comes with the telephone call , enjoy the time with your friends.

StealthPolarBear · 17/11/2016 16:57

Just checking in, nice to read updates :)

Allalonenow · 17/11/2016 17:17

Hope you and your roof are safe Zombie!

Fiderer · 17/11/2016 17:45

Blimey. I clicked on TIO and misread "tornadoes". Brain read "tomatoes" and for a second wondered why All was so Shock

Tornadoes!

Stay safe Zombie and anyone else in the area.

ARF @ Fids' killer tomatoes!

Fiderer · 17/11/2016 18:04

Hearts What is more likely in Shropshire? Killer tomatoes or tornadoes?

Someone may well have been nobbled at the Flower and Produce Show by a fiendish killer tomato plot.

(Readers of PG Wodehouse will remember the pumpkin)

Allalonenow · 17/11/2016 18:35

Grin Sorry to put the wind up you Fid Grin

iklboo · 17/11/2016 19:18

I've come up to bed while DS & DH are playing Hero Quest (like Dungeons & Dragons). Smelly candle on, warm fairy lights round the bed. DH has just brought me up a caramel latte with a rum in. And I'm listening to The Lost Boys soundtrack.

Back to work (one day a week) from Monday so I'm doing as much relaxing as I can before then.

Cin cin ladies! BrewWine

Allalonenow · 17/11/2016 20:12

Sounds divine ikl!
I'm just going to have a Kir while I knock up some creamy mushroomy pasta.

Grin Susie

HerRoyalFattyness · 17/11/2016 21:06

Grin OK zombie fess up, who did you beat up and why?

IamtheZombie · 17/11/2016 22:49

Absolutely lovely afternoon and evening with the world's best teddy bear and his family. As usual, the cats are somewhat less than impressed with visiting pooches.

In other news, I've made it past the first Marsden hurdle. My platelets have made it back up to 100 and liver function levels while slightly elevated are hopefully acceptable. With luck I'll be receiving an appointment letter in the post tomorrow or Saturday for an initial assessment at the Marsden's Sutton site next Friday.

Baby steps, everyone. Teeny tiny baby steps.

OP posts:
Wolfiefan · 17/11/2016 22:55

So glad you enjoyed your visit from the bear clan. Hoping those baby steps lead somewhere good. It's not asking for the moon to hope for more happy days ahead. As well as possible for as long as possible? Meanwhile Thursday is the new friday! Wine
Oh and don't mention pooches. New puppy hopefully coming soon. Gawd knows what tortie terrors will make of that?!Shock

HerRoyalFattyness · 17/11/2016 22:57

Baby steps are still steps Flowers
