Absolutely shattered. All three dc are pukey. Night phalanx!

Mummylin · 14/11/2016 01:40

Well done to you Ikl on your nomination, what a boost that must be. Good blog as usual, so glad Ed and Judge both got through !

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 14/11/2016 03:07

I miss Strictly SOOOOOO much!

and my autographed photo of Anton that DH got me for Christmas last year is still in storage with the rest of our stuff

I managed to keep up with GBBO watching bootlegged videos on YouTube but Strictly got away from me and now it's too late

Susiesoap7 · 14/11/2016 09:53

Wishing you the very best of luck this week zombie with your appointments, I will be thinking of you 🌺🌺🌺

Fiderer · 14/11/2016 10:28

Thinking of you too, Z.

Poor Hearts. Anton? Grin

Don't you get fiercely cold winters o'er there? It smells and feels like winter this morning here. Am considering knitting a balaclava. V glam I am.

iklboo · 14/11/2016 11:41

Lots of luck with appointments Z.

Signed off work one more week. New doc has agreed phased return to work would be best & will give me a note to that effect. Start off one day a week in office, four at home & build up back to normal.

She's also referring me to new health authority audiology & rehab for check ups and see if there's any more treatment/ physio they can give me.

ScrambledSmegs · 14/11/2016 13:33

Zombie, I'm obviously not a phalanxer - I'm a crap MNer in general - but do occasionally pop in to lurk and see how you are (not creepily). Sad to see your recent news, but mightily pleased to see you're just being you about it. If that makes any sense. It probably doesn't, words don't look right today. Hurrah for too much Lemsip*!

I'd send good vibes but that always makes me think of someone buzzing gently (in a sekshule way? Who knows?) so will make do with positive thoughts and hoping your appointments this week are helpful.

*Actually Tesco's own brand, good stuff.

Allalonenow · 14/11/2016 13:54

Hope your journey tomorrow is hassle free Zombie.

Will have everything crossed that the Marsden have a trial running that is suitable for you. Thanks Thanks

Mummylin · 14/11/2016 15:45

I hope you have booked into a hotel that accomodates Zombies tomorrow, and that there will be hopeful news on Wednesday. How long is the train trip ?

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 14/11/2016 18:21

Haha Scrambled, once you've posted here you are automatically a Phalanxer!

Hope your journey is stress free tomorrow Z and I will send good vibes for Wednesday 'cos we're all non binary and gender fluid here in the ravine!
Grin

Safely home after long day number one for the week. Both GP and MRI appointments went well (and were on time). Lovely dinner with the newly wed couple. They had me in fits of laughter with all the wedding day disaster stories. There were some real doozies. At least it was definitely a day they will never forget.

Off to bed very soon. In the morning I need to pack, get the rubbish in the bin and put the bin out for Wednesday morning, give last minute instructions to house / cat sitter and make sure I have all necessary paperwork sorted for Wednesday. Hotel is booked for tomorrow night.

Don't worry if I don't update again until Thursday. I have no idea what time I'll get back on Wednesday and may well just fall straight into bed.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 14/11/2016 23:32

There is nothing quite like fits of laughter with old friends.

Best news Smile

Don't worry about updating, we'll just top up the logs, practice our cave drawings, and extensively test the C** martinis.

No, I thought I'd had the revelation that Christmas and cunting had the same number of letters, but sadly not.

Allalonenow · 15/11/2016 00:10

Oh yes, I meant to say that I was pleased for you that you had fun at the dinner Zombie, did you wear you red frock? You are a legend in that red frock! Grin

I'm wondering what C martinis are? Chocolate martinis, Caramel martinis, Cinnamon martinis, Curaçao martinis, Custard martinis.......????

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 15/11/2016 00:33

I meant Christmas martinis, and those all sound fantastic Allalone so I hereby officially appoint you the Phalanx Christmas Martini Shaker/Stirrer

CrownStarCrown

you can start practising now

Allalonenow · 15/11/2016 00:43

Hahaha! Yes I guessed it was Christmas really!!
A Christmas cocktail would be fun, maybe something with orange/tangerine or a brandy Alexander with nutmeg & a cinnamon stirrer? What do you think? Wine Wine

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 15/11/2016 01:04

Chocolate.

Or Curacao (how do you do the squiggly thing)

And all of what you said.

Need to sleep on it.

Will get back to you soonest WineGrin

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 15/11/2016 01:32

How about a candy cane martini with peppermint schnapps?

Zombie lots of positive maple-syrup coated vibes from here too.

Fids supposedly the winters are a tad frigid, yes, and I do remember freezing fondly in my misspent yoof. Have to say though, not a sign of any frigidity here yet. Not a sausage. The past 3 days have been 15C and sunny and I don't believe it has dipped below zero yet at all, not even at night. Having said that, they are calling for a cold winter after last year's festival of mildness. We will see.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 15/11/2016 01:34

Toronto is pretty balmy compared to the rest of Canada though. I mean, we are on the same latitude as Rome believe it or not. Go to Ottawa or Calgary or Northern Ontario for some proper winter shizzle.

Allalonenow · 15/11/2016 14:30

Ooohh I'm liking the candy cane martini Hearts I've always loved a Crème de Menthe Frappé. Wine

B3 on my iPad I get the cedilla, accents etc by holding down the required letter key for a second or two, and a little menu of them pops up, slide >>> your finger across to select what you need.
On my laptop, I've got Avisoft installed.

HRF how are your children doing? Hope they are feeling better by now.

iklboo · 15/11/2016 18:01

Hello phalanx! You might remember we moved to a naice area 3 years ago. And it is vair nice. Lovely town centre, bars & restaurants, great schools, friendly people etc. We're gradually getting involved in community stuff - the annual scarecrow event, decorating for Halloween, donating to the Xmas lights fund etc.

This year we're taking part in the inaugural Community Advent Window. 24 houses / businesses are given a number from 1-24 and we decorate our window in that day. People can access a map of where the houses are & have a mini tour.

So....we're posting our ideas to try & avoid duplication. We're thinking of going for a huge present in the middle window with the outline picked out by fairy lights. There'll also be a plate design with a mince pie / cookies and a carrot on it and a glass of milk. The two side windows will have a stocking each in them with presents poking out of the top line a teddy, doll, soldier etc.

Scarecrow will be wheeled out dressed up in a Santa suit with a sack stuffed with...well, stuff to make it look like it's full of toys.

Does that sound ok? We'll have the normal outside lights we usually have and DH has bought a lamp thing that projects twinkly lights on the front of the house.
