That's what I'm trying to do, BBB. I've spent most of yesterday and today tucked up with hot water bottles.

:(

Mummylin · 05/10/2016 19:42

Oh Zombie. What a rotten time you are having one way or another. It will be a shame if you have to miss the wedding. But of course if you were feeling like shit you wouldn't enjoy it anyway Can you delay your decision until Friday when things may of picked up a lot ? Do as BBB suggests and see if that helps you.

IamtheZombie · 06/10/2016 14:08

I've just messaged my friend with my regrets. I'm still feeling quite poorly. Even if I felt a bit better by Saturday, I wouldn't be able to go. Including travelling time, it would be a 10 - 12 hour day. I can't cope with that.

The Oncology Sister has just rung to let me know that I'll be receiving an appointment for a PET scan. I was discussed at the Multi Disciplinary Team meeting on Tuesday and they want a better look at insides than either the CT or MRI can show.

What a shame for you and your friend, but obviously the long day would probably too much for you at the moment. I am sure you will be thinking of your friend at the time of her wedding.
How do you feel about having this other scan ?

HerRoyalFattyness · 06/10/2016 14:45

Oh zombie I'm sorry you can't make the wedding.

iklboo · 06/10/2016 14:50

Oh that's rotten news Zombie.

Allalonenow · 06/10/2016 18:50

It's a pity that you will have to miss the wedding Zombie but you have to put your own wellbeing first at times like this. Maybe you could have a glass of fizz on the day so that you are there in spirit at least. Smile

It's good news that your team are taking such care of your treatment, let's hope they come up with a plan that means you are not laid so low by the treatments next time. Thanks

IamtheZombie · 06/10/2016 22:41

And so we come to the end of day 3 of feeling like complete and utter shit.

Speaking of shit, I'm going to skip the Movicol tonight.

Wishing you a peaceful night Zombie, time for a break after 3 days please, whoever is listening out there Flowers

That's pants about the wedding but you have to put yourself first, sure your friend will understand. Just googled PET scan. Hope it brings some helpful answers

Just off to my bed too. Had keyhole knee surgery this morning so hope my painkillers are effective...

Mummylin · 07/10/2016 01:12

Hope you are tucked up and are fast asleep Zombie, here's wishing you feel a bit better tomorrow. ( today now )

Fiderer · 07/10/2016 06:19

That's a bugger about the wedding. And the aches and pains.

Flowers to you and your hot water bottles.

StealthPolarBear · 07/10/2016 06:28

Hugs for the zombie.

Allalonenow · 07/10/2016 11:28

Hoping you slept well Zombie and have a better day today. Brew Cake

How's the knee married? You'll be tap dancing again soon. Grin

marriednotdead · 07/10/2016 12:30

Foolishly stayed in bed longer than painkillers lasted so waiting for them to kick in again- could happily detach leg meanwhile... Never could dance!

Really hope today is a better one for you Zombie Flowers

Mummylin · 07/10/2016 20:21

How has your day been Zombie ? Some improvement from your last update I hope.

StealthPolarBear · 07/10/2016 20:22

How's the knee married?

Mummylin · 07/10/2016 20:23

married hope you are not in too much discomfort tonight. My Dh had keyhole on his knee , cartilage trouble, and they gave what they removed to Dh in a little pot in some liquid. He put it in pride of place on the mantelpiece. I threw it out. Yuk !

HerRoyalFattyness · 07/10/2016 20:38

How are you zombie? and how's the knee now married? Hope it's not causing you too much pain.

IamtheZombie · 07/10/2016 21:58

This chemo has never affected me this badly for so long. I deduce that the antibiotic's side effects are playing a major role. I finish those in the morning so I'm hoping that once they are out of my system things will improve.

I managed to drag myself to the store this afternoon. Milk, bread, eggs, soup and ready meals have been restocked. I have to go to the hospital on Monday for the first of my weekly blood tests. I will do a more extensive shop on the way home.

married, I hope you're feeling fit as a fiddle very soon.

OP posts:
marriednotdead · 07/10/2016 22:20

Well done for dragging yourself out Zombie- you're incredibly stoic and I'm full of admiration for you. Hope that it is indeed the antibiotics causing the havoc and that once they're finished you recover quickly.

Thanks for thinking of me. Have had a Chinese takeaway and lots of drugs which are finally beginning to help. My sister (who had similar a couple of years ago) assures me that today is the worst- I hope she's right!

Fiderer · 07/10/2016 22:29

Am flying home tomorrow. Will call you in the next few days.

I want to take us all on a little holiday back to peaceful, friendly place that we were last year.

Ach, was struggling to remember, it was the ravine.

We all had our own cosy cave, with a promontory for a fire, and ropes for sending messages and presents.

Does anyone else remember?

I liked the whispering messages; ravine acoustics meant nobody needed to shout.

Fiderer · 08/10/2016 08:19

A ravine 3B? Either I wasn't with you or I've forgotten. Or you're loopy.

Grin
marriednotdead · 08/10/2016 08:52

I remember, BBB's not loopy! Was it a ravine or something else though T'was a restful place and I'd happily join you there Smile
