Oh iklboo that's terrible.

Have gin and my virtual pie (what have I unleashed? Grin )

Or you could have a beer. German beer is a fine thing, as is the cheap wine

Asked FidBoy2 to pick up a 6-pack. Cold beer on a warm evening. He brought me a little barrel. I do feel like a hobbit now Grin

iklboo · 30/09/2016 17:28

Oooh I do love a good German beer. Mmmm.

Fiderer · 30/09/2016 17:33

Here's the Hobbit Barrel.
God love him, it weighs a ton and he lugged it all the way home. I'd have been happy with any but he said, you like this one and they didn't have a 6-pack.
Was so pleased with himself I didn't have the heart to point out I can't put it in the fridge.
Could immerse a glass in iced water I suppose.

Oh ikl what a blow, you are clearly far too good for them the bastards
Have a pork pie, a bottle of gin and chucks under the chin galore! Grin

That's mighty impressive shopping Fid what a star he is!
German beer is good, almost as good as Belgian beer! Grin

Fiderer · 30/09/2016 18:01

German alcohol laws v different from UK.
16+ you can buy beer & wine.
18+ spirits.

So I can send FidBoy1 for gin, and next March, I can send FidBoy2 as well Grin

None of this 25 rule rubbish. Occasionally they're asked for ID but rarely. And they have to carry ID from the age of 16 anyway. Oddly enough, not such a problem with underage/binge drinking here.

Apart from the wine festivals. That seems to be a rite of passage Hmm

Susiesoap7 · 30/09/2016 18:05

I would lie underneath it with my mouth open after I had eaten my pork pie! 🤑🤑🤑

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 30/09/2016 18:51

Well, the laptop appears to be working despite the persistence of the blue whirly bar. I did pop into Currys but emerged with nothing. New laptop can wait until something decent is on sale. They don't seem to stock styluses (acceptable alternative to styli for the pedants amongst you) for those of a fat fingered inclination when trying to use touch screens to type and screen cleaners very overpriced. So, I went into Poundland next door and emerged victorious with 3 styluses (one for upstairs, one for downstairs and one for handbag) and a 200 ml bottle of screen cleaner including a cleaning cloth) for a total outlay of.... £4.

I had a really crap night's sleep last night due primarily to a very painful left shoulder and other random aches and pains. Maybe I've been overdoing the cording massage and the exercises. (Yeah, right. Underdoing them is more probable.) As the Movicol seems to helping I wonder if I dare risk some codeine or morphine at bedtime tonight.

I'm going to take it as good omen that when I went into the Phlebotomy walk in clinic this afternoon there was no one else there so I was seen immediately. In and out in 8 minutes flat. At least I'll get an optimistic weekend out of it.

I've just removed the cotton ball that was covering the site where the Phlebotomist inserted the needle. For the first time in AGES there's no visible bruising. Please, please let this mean that platelets are getting their act together.

It's been over 2 months now since I was able to have my chemo. I think you all know that I try my best to stay positive but I know a) my cancer is particularly agressive and b) the chemo is the only thing keeping it under control. I'm frankly terrified that the cancer will have siezed the opportunity to start running rampant. Yes, the chemo should be able to get it back under control IF I can have it when scheduled. But what happens if the next treatment knocks the platelets again and it takes another 2 months for them to recover? They can't even try a different treatment until I'm fit enough.

I hate, Hate, HATE this fucking awful disease.

Rant over. Normal service will be resumed soon.

Rant away dearest Zombie. The lack of bruise should be good. Plus I saw the most beautiful rainbow in the world. I'm not particularly woo but it felt heaven sent.
If karma would like to shine on dearest zombie there's a list:
Windows. Bloody behave.
Aches. Stop it.
Morphine do your stuff.
Platelets. Be fabulous.
Chemo. Soon.
Cancer. Do fuck off dear.
That'll do for tonight. Love to zombie and the zombie cats.

When will you know if you can have your chemo soon Zombie. Surely they can't wait for too long. And it is an age since you had the lost lot. Let's hope that no sign of a bruise is a good sign and that your treatment can get back underway ASAP.

IamtheZombie · 01/10/2016 23:00

Chemo is scheduled for Monday afternoon. I'll learn Monday morning whether it's on or not.

It's bedtime for Zombie. Night all.
