I hope they hurry up and work for you.

Mummylin · 02/09/2016 17:26

Yes it is strong but obviously they are not taking any chances and giving you the higher dose. This can only be to the good. Tomorrow you may begin to start feeling a lot better.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 02/09/2016 18:43

Quick diagnosis, strong dose of ABs, platelets up next week FX.

Hope you feel better soon Z.

Fiderer · 02/09/2016 19:58

Stay away from Dr Google. If I went by what I read, I'd have 3 eyes, a lumpy foot, a sinister affliction last seen in 1879 and an oddly disfigured left wrist.

And that was the best bits.

All the best lovely Z.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 02/09/2016 22:48

Zombie I hope AB started working and you are feeling a bit better now. How's your hand & arm? Anyone around to help you, keep you company?
Sorry I can't post as much as I'd like, but I think of you a lot!

A bit of drama here as Zinglette stepped on a piece of glass yesterday and a 1/4" piece got stuck in her foot. Lots of blood & screaming. Took her to walk in centre and 1 X-ray, 1 attempted tweezer session with gas & air and one Hospital A&E admission later we were sent home but booked in for this morning for the glass to be removed, under G&A.
Here since 7am, she was nil by mouth for 8 hours before she could finally be taken to surgery (I was crawling up the wall but she was a real trooper!) Op was successful and she is ok, but still waiting to be discharged....1" incision, stitches & bandage and she's supposed to start school soon, but Dr thought sending a message with nurse for us to go home with no practical information whatsoever would be acceptable. I'm livid.
Sorry for ranting

Goingtobeawesome · 03/09/2016 09:48

I hope the meds help. I rarely post but think of you.

Allalonenow · 03/09/2016 09:48

How are you feeling today Zombie?
I think Pen V is a slow - to - start AB, but you should begin to feel better soon. Lots of rest and plenty of fluids will help too. Thanks

Zing. Hope you are both safely home now, and DD is making a good recovery, poor little soul, she must have been very brave!

Mummylin · 03/09/2016 12:03

Grin at Fids description of herself with three eyes etc !
Hope there is some improvement this morning Zombie.

HerRoyalFattyness · 03/09/2016 15:07

Hope you feel a bit better now zombie.
zing ouch! Shock Hope you're both OK now!

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 04/09/2016 03:13

Fids that is what I look like on a good day!

Nice strong lovely ABs and plenty of fluids and rest for our Zombie.

Ouch poor Zinglette! I hear ice cream does wonders for sore toes. Grin

Mummylin · 04/09/2016 22:08

Hope you are picking up now Zombie and that anti b,s are doing their work

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 04/09/2016 22:42

Owchie Ow Zing, hope she's ok now, and you've recovered.

Don't believe what that Hearts says, she's gorgeous. Mwah!

Hope your meds are kicking in Zomb, fx the platelets are back up next week.

IamtheZombie · 04/09/2016 22:55

Evening.

Good(ish) news: Urine is no longer cloudy, much less urgency to pee and no pain after urinating for 36 hours so hopefully the penicillin is working. Also bloating has eased a lot.

Not so good(ish) news: Despite drinking 6 - 8 pints of water a day, urine is still very dark which indicates there is still blood in it. There is still some abdominal discomfort with specific areas (upper left hand quadrant and around the hernia mainly) feeling tender.

So 50 / 50.

Poor Zinglette. Hope she's much better now.

Glad you feel a little bit better zombie let's hope by the end of the week it will have cleared up, thinking of you 🌸🙋🌸🙋

Fiderer · 05/09/2016 17:40

Checking in with my 3 eyes to see how you are.

I don't even know what a hernia is and am not Googling cos DrG will tell me I've got one in my index finger or some such guff.

Keep taking the penicillin. Hope it works.

IamtheZombie · 05/09/2016 20:16

Fid, a hernia is when an internal organ pokes through a weakened area of muscle. In my case part of my bowel is poking through next to one of my liver surgery scars.

I really hope things improve tomorrow (today?) For you zombie

Allalonenow · 06/09/2016 09:23

Hope you are feeling much better today Zombie, I'll send you some of my chicken soup down the interwebby tubes to help you feel better.

Hearts as you are in Canada, do you know what the numbers on Maple Syrup mean? One or two, which is best?

Mummylin · 06/09/2016 09:28

Hope you managed a good sleep and you wake feeling a bit better today. Let's hope the anti b,s do the trick.

IamtheZombie · 06/09/2016 22:51

Evening darling Phalanx.

I've felt a bit better today. Possibly because the Penicillin is definitely working. Urine is now clear and pale.

Timings for Thursday have changed. My oncologist wants to see me before I have my chemo. I got a call from one of the nurses who cared for me when I was in hospital last year. She's now working as part of a different oncology team and Dr. P. had asked her to ring me and do a full assessment. She rang me back a few hours later to advise me of the new times.

Chemo appointment has been moved from 2.30 pm to 3.30 pm. I'm to report to Clinic at 2.00 pm and Dr. P. will fit me in as soon as she can.
I think they're a bit (OK, maybe more than a bit) concerned that I developed such a serious infection.

I'll go have my bloods drawn tomorrow afternoon. I really hope that after 6 weeks my platelets have recovered.

There won't be any more news until after Thursday. Funny how less than 48 hours can seem an eternity.

Oh, Zombie - waiting is awful.

Is there anything we can do?

Would you like some books? DVDS? Bad jokes?

Large ration of gin is obv issued & I hope you have some of the real stuff or some bubbles.

We are all here for you & always will be.

IamtheZombie · 06/09/2016 23:39

Thanks, magi. I've loaded at least a dozen new books onto my Kindle in the last few days. I have an as yet untouched box set of Dexter to binge watch.

Just keep me in your thoughts. xxx

You are in my thoughts sweetheart

Fiderer · 07/09/2016 07:04

Thinking of you too. Mistyped and wrote "thunking" - no idea what that is, but will do that too. Maybe hard frowny thinking Grin
