... then we just carry on jabbering and perving, and rewatching, and, well business as usual. Apparently there are plenty of thighs on display at the Olympics.

Yes, whhhhhhhyyyyy???? Why is it that the women have to compete with all that shit on their faces just because they're...women?

morelike Envy Shock Envy x eleventy gazillion. Now DETAILS my girl, DETAILS...

LetUsPrey · 12/08/2016 00:13

Because you know they're feeemale and have to look purty whilst they're competing after putting in hours and hours and hours of practice in various disciplines to try to reach the pinnacle of their chosen sport. Have to be careful with their chosen shade of leotard too or they might be criticised for it not quite matching their skin tone as has happened to, I think, one of the Czech gymnasts.

I am off to the Hayloft with Dustin where I shall kiss his injury better. What do you mean, he hurt his ankle and I seem to aiming a lot higher? I'm taking his mind off any pain

FancyFancy · 12/08/2016 00:49

I know, it makes me so cross. And it doesn't make them look purty - it reminds me of those godawful child beauty pageants in the US Angry

Ah well, I'm sure Aramis will take my mind of it tonight Wink

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/08/2016 08:57

Morning all. Is ok to lose to Fiji, they are pretty much 7s specialists. I'm sure England will make up for it by thumping them at 15s when they're over here for an Autumn test (which I do believe I have tickets for Grin )

We completely missed the women's gymnastics. Sad the sparkle factor is obviously to help the judges keep track of them as they wizz round their events, twisting and turning faster than the speed of light. Hmm Did you see [[http://rochdaleherald.co.uk/breaking-news/thousands-dead-in-daily-mail-olympics-tragedy/ that article in the Rochdale Herald]] taking the piss out of the Daily Fail for simulteneously being outraged at Helen Skelton's short dress showing too much flesh, and the Egyptian Beach Volleyball team’s leggings not showing enough? Grin

Thousands dead in Daily Mail Olympics tragedy
by rochdaleherald • August 10, 2016 • 7 Comments

Thousands of Daily Mail readers are dead today after their heads exploded whilst reading the rag’s coverage of the Olympics.

Mild confusion over the juxtaposition between the length of Helen Skelton’s skirt and the Egyptian Beach Volleyball team’s leggings quickly became explosive embolisms.

Armed police responded to several incidents of reported gunfire yesterday at newsagents and nursing homes across Rochdale only to discover on arrival that a number of middle-aged women had literally blown their own minds trying to be outraged at too much and not enough leg at the same time.

A Greater Rochdale Police spokesman issued a statement which read;

“Stop reading The Daily Mail, it contains dangerous levels of hypocrisy and conflicting opinion. At least you know with The Guardian or The Telegraph that they’re going to tell you who and what to hate consistently.”

Please take a moment to tell a Dail Mail reader that they don’t necessarily have to hate everything Lord Rothermere tells them to, you might just save a life.

Morning wenches. That's brilliant Helen Grin. Bit like the "she's too thin, look she must be ill, OMG look at her rounded tummy, she's getting so fat, she must be pregnant" shite.

That Phelps chap is quite good isn't he?

Looking forward to seeing Helen Glover in the rowing. I shouldn't really like her because of the whole engaged to Steve Backshall thing but I think she's ace.

Good old Rochdale, that popped up on my fb feed....very funny.

Excellent Olympics coverage wenches, it's almost as though I'm watching it myself Hmm. Ever thought of jobs as commentators?

This weather is bloody glorious, I don't think I've had a uk holiday with this much sun since I was seven. It was strange being on the beach yesterday surrounded by so many English voices, it felt so much like we were somewhere abroad...cicadas and everything

And hooray, the braying toffs of the Waitrose delivery are packing up, I was getting quite bored hearing tales of when they crewed their yacht to Antigua

JaneElk · 12/08/2016 09:26

Delicious S1 pic ariadne, that was such a great scene...love a discombobulated Athos

Comtess · 12/08/2016 09:46

Ooh Letus welcome back from hols!

I didn't know she was engaged to Steve. Aw.

Fiji were always going to win the 7s. Silver was just fine!

Loving the cycling. Esp Spartacus getting his gold before he retired. Have always liked him. Also men's sprint was amazing - was thinking of you Fancy I have met Katherine Grainger and she is wench. Was willing her gold and was rowing along with her. Also, just been watching Simone Biles. Never seen anyone nailing dismounts like her. Loving it! But it's really a full time job. No time to do anything elseGrin

I have less than half an hour til we have new neighbours for BBQ. Mr C typically has gone full on competitive - marinaded loads of stuff last night and has been giving it the full Jamie chopping and sprinkling herbs everywhere. I have made nice salads. eerk!

Muskies started yesterday here! Thursday quite a decent day I thought

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/08/2016 09:49

Morning Comtess good luck with BBQ.

I am going to have some toast. I don't think it will help motivate me to actually work, but I like to think it will, so it's a good excuse for walking away from the computer for a bit...

Ooh Elkie glad you're having a lovely sunny time.

Pmsl at Antigua etc. So wish I could send you Mr C. He has a technique with such types.

FancyFancy · 12/08/2016 10:56

Morning everyone, catching up on last night's Olympic action. A wench commentary would be a great addition to the BBC coverage can I sit next to Mark Foster please?

Fantastic link helen, spot on re the DM Grin

Interesting to hear that about Kath Grainger comtess, doesn't surprise me at all, she always seems fab when interviewed. Yy to Spartacus winning, that was lovely. I may have got something in my eye at that point Grin Good luck with the BBQ!

Sounds wonderful. Especially as you'll now be free from baying twats

Cinnamoncookie · 12/08/2016 11:03

Morning all. Please send good weather vibes to Wales for next week, whence I am heading with extended family. .

I had fun at a work training course yesterday, with vaguely Musketeer-related themes. But they didn't have to deal with the legalities of it all .

FancyFancy · 12/08/2016 11:16

Today's highlights:
12.30 rowing starts, inc men's 4's final & women's pair final (Glover & Stanning)
1.30pm heptathlon starts (Jess & Katarina JT)
2pm dressage starts (CduJ & Valegro leading, GB team 2nd so far)
7pm tennis mixed doubles - not sure which pair though
8pm more cycling, inc women's team sprint final & men's team pursuit final (Wiggo)

Over invested? Me? Grin

I think the weather is supposed to get hot next week cinn, although whether that includes Wales I'm not sure. Or whether that will stop it from raining. We are talking about Wales here after all Wink

LetUsPrey · 12/08/2016 12:05

Swimming commentary on the telly "... see if he goes big and deep, well he's certainly gone deep and he's gone very fast indeed..."

Fab that you've had good weather Elk!
