erm... no Fancy MrH is not an Aramench Ah - no - the 'apparently' but was because I was reloading MN when the hub went down, and it managed to load everything but the picture, then crashed.

I read the TimesOnline article and thought 'Odd transition - from an vet to private detective...' I despair of my own stupidity/literalness sometimes. I fear the prosthetic leg may be caused by him gnawing off his own leg to escape from the manacles which overenthusiastic fans use to keep him chained up. I haven't read the books. Should I, or shall I keep the series unspoilt for when it appears onscreen? (I haven't read Durrell since teenaged years, but didn't watch the TV series either, so have no useful comment there either.)

In other news - the hornets appear to have given up - hurrah! Will wait and see if they're just trying to lull me into a false sense of security. And the really untidy and full to bursting garden shed has been blitzed resulting in the floor being visible for the first time in months. And I weeded a flower bed. Car and windows have been washed (I think that's the second time in 5 years for the windows, so it's an Event.) And Ds is cross because we said 'no more TV today'.

Hope the BBQ goes ok - we've had threatning clouds all day and I think I heard a distant rumble of thunder earlier. But no rain, so fingers crossed.
