... then we just carry on jabbering and perving, and rewatching, and, well business as usual. Apparently there are plenty of thighs on display at the Olympics.

Have retreated to Versailles finale to avoid hockey tension...

I still have that to watch. I love the Olympics, but it eats up my time!

FancyFancy · 19/08/2016 22:39

Oh dear God it's gone to penalties

FancyFancy · 19/08/2016 22:46

OMFG WE'VE WON ON PENALTIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so chuffed for them, they have been awesome, fab teamwork & they are hard as nails Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/08/2016 22:55

Morning wenches!

OMAFG the hockey!!! The goalie was just fucking INCREDIBLE. So exciting. Felt some empathy for the Dutch but this is great for UK sport I think. Fantastic. I also LOVED those Brownlees winning. Although I've had to put up with Mr C's usual 'if Yorkshire was a country, we'd be 13th in the table' type comments.

Could see any diving so no idea how Tom did. Ditto horsey stuff.

There is A LOT of general 'how come the Brits are doing so well' talk here. I keep on having to talk about John Major and national lottery algorithms on funding. The Aussies did similar things after no medals in 1970s but are in a bit of a rut I think.

Hope things improve for both.

Attaching a pic from my run yesterday morning. It's nice here. Hope you've all got nice weekend plans.

Burke alert - just seen JP's tweet that TB soon to star in new TV serial

Grin

Fab. I'd better get organised with pirating stuff on t'internet from UK then.....

FancyFancy · 19/08/2016 23:53

Beautiful scenery - would be perfect if there were a few hbfs in shot Grin

YY to the goalie - so fab in that penalty shoot-out. Tom Daley qualified first for the diving semi-final, he was on fire. Hope he keeps it up for the rest of the competition.
Re : the medals, think we've thrown at lot of money at certain sports haven't we? Was chatting with my dad earlier & we were talking about how centralised track cycling is in the UK - presumably our promising young cyclists have the might of UK cycling & it's fat wallet behind them & so get the best equipment, best coaches & best training partners?

I'm looking forward to a good weekend - have a wench + family visiting Grin

How are your boys settling in?

LetUsPrey · 20/08/2016 00:16

Evening/morning wenches.

Big wenchy for Badderz, Wicked and Madame.

Any wench else want one?

Shopping done, food was fabulous and am still feeling very full, film was great (not as good as the second one obviously Grin>, fairly predictable but jolly good nonetheless.

Bloody excellent news re Nick Skelton and the women's hockey! And finalists in boxing (women and men) and taekwondo to come.

Night wenches x

FancyFancy · 20/08/2016 00:34

Glad to hear you've had a good night letus, what film did you see? (or have you already told us? Blush )
May stay up for the taekwondo as suspect I'll be staying up for the athletics anyway

LetUsPrey · 20/08/2016 00:50

Star Trek Beyond. BestFriend is a big ST fan and she agreed that it was very good but the second one was better. I am of course biased as that starred Benedict being a baddie and fighting and kicking and and and...

I'm off to the hayloft I think

FancyFancy · 20/08/2016 01:08

Hayloft? A cold shower might be better Grin

Night letus

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 20/08/2016 08:29

Morning all Grin I am packing (still) and shouldn't be on here.

Ta for the heads-up Comtess - had missed that tweet (though not v. informative of JP Grin ) we need titles, dates, timings Grin unless it's BBC of course, in which case it's anyone's guess Hmm

And what a fabulous pic pf your morning run venue. Mind you' we have sunshine here too. LOL at MrC "If Yorkshire was a country..." Someone on the radio worked that out for the cyclists team Grin

Breakfast calls....

Have a great day LetUs - hopefully not too hungover!

Hope other wenches and pets are ok today...

Morning wenches! I'm home!!! We've been following in the footsteps of the Muskies for the last 10 days. We had a fabulous time visiting the locations and only had a couple of massive rows. We managed 16 of them, some with more success than others.

I've tried to keep up with the thread in spite of wifi problems. Many thanks to Fancy for her epic Olympic coverage. You've been a darned sight better than BBC World News, which was all we had there, apart from some local channel which didn't show any Brits. Also yay for new job.

Loving PattyTheCat Madame, he's gorgeous. Hope the migraine has gone away.

Do hope Sigfrid is ok WW.

Helen we had a hornets nest up a tree a couple of years ago. DH got rid of it dressed up in all the overalls, gloves and headgear he had in his possession. They haven't been back, thank goodness.

Flowers for Badders.

Lovely pic Comtess.

Ooooh, exciting re TB's new project.

DD has a significant birthday today and is having a party at a local golf club tonight. I seem to be involved in sorting puddings and dress choice/altering.

I see it's LetUs's birthday too, have a great day.

Have a good weekend all.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 20/08/2016 09:16

Thanks for the support wenches! They will call for an update this afternoon.

I had a well deserved dream about TB, he was a stuck up duke but also a veterinarian, in the end he changed his ways to devote his life to animals and give up his title and I realised that he was the man of my dreams. Before he kissed me he did admit that he hadn't renounced his title at all but I think I was good with that. Then I woke up.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 20/08/2016 09:16

Happy birthday Letus CakeFlowersWine

Badders123 · 20/08/2016 09:38

Happy b day LetusCakeFlowers
Nice tb dream wicked!
It's raining here....sigh....

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 20/08/2016 09:41

It sure beat the one where he was dating my mother ..... Hmm

Badders123 · 20/08/2016 09:44

😂

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 20/08/2016 10:17

Jesus wept wenches - charater witnesses and mitigating cirumstanes at the ready - I' think I'm going to throttle DH..... (mostly for being a typical manshape rather than anything specific) though "I found DS's dressing gown so I put it on top of the Bag" was a red flag. WTAF is wrong with actually paking it into his bak then. FFS x 10-squillion

Arghhhhh I do luffs him (in case he reads this) but argh!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sure I drive him just as far round the bend too

Sounds like you had a great time Apes! Hope your DD has a fab day too x

Excellent dream Wicked!

Raining here also so shall stare at Comtess's pic.

Hope your migraine's buffered off Madame.

Am very lucky as have loads of cards and lovely presents. Just about to do my nails as we're out seeing friends tonight so I'll make an effort. It's a strenuous life.

Oh look they're waiting for someone to finish lighting all the candles on my cake...

Welcome home apes! Glad you had a fab and very productive time. Grin

Happy birthday letus! Cake

ww hope you get a good report today

comtesse not wel jel of your new home and weather AT ALL Envy Grin

helen my dp is also doing my bloody head in. He seems to think that spending a day of annual leave on a bike ride with friends, when his son is here for the 10 days that he will see him this year, and then pratting around with his bike all the next morning, and being no help whatsoever with anything else, for some reason deserves some kind of medal. Hmm

Anyway. Off with ds to see a friend today. When I get back, no doubt he will have done fuck all useful. But at least his bike will be nice and clean. But then, he's the one who works, whereas I just sit around on my arse all week, right? Hmm Hmm

LetUsPrey · 20/08/2016 12:03

Vinnnnnniiiieeeeeeeeeee! On your way.
