Battlestar Galactica?
Startrek Voyager?
24?
Lost?
Oh I know, Alias?

WideWebWitch · 02/01/2007 19:56

Oh, no, no, Dark Angel! I loved it, can't believe they cancelled it.

Tortington · 02/01/2007 19:57

you must do battlestar galactica - the cylons are scary.

Kittypickle · 02/01/2007 19:58

We have just finished the first series of Alias, having worked our way through Buffy and Angel before that. I'm enjoying it, not as much as Buffy but it is good.

Tortington · 02/01/2007 19:59

i just watched series one and two of weeds back to back.

BuffysMum · 02/01/2007 19:59

Battlestar is absolutely fab!!!

tribpot · 02/01/2007 19:59

Agreed - Alias. Have just ordered series 5 on DVD.

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 02/01/2007 20:00

Did voyager when it was on Sky,
Did first 2 24s and got bored with them.
Not convinced about Lost
Alias - yes, remember seeing a couple on Sky and thinking it was good
Is Battlestar Galactica a new version?
Remember Dark Angel when it started on Sky too...

will have to browse through Ebay. Will also have to list the 9 box sets of Stargate SG1 plus one of Stargate Atlantis on Ebay to recoup the costs!

keep the suggestions coming

Battlestar is far and away one of the best drama series on TV at the mo.

Not the cringy kitsch 70s version btw .

Can't believe it's not made it onto terrestrial telly yet - criminal. I'm not a sci fi fan at all, but this is more drama than sci fi and pretty dark at points - really gripping IMO

New series starts next week on sky - huzzah!!!!!

Tortington · 02/01/2007 20:03

es yes new version - heathen dragon - must get it now - go go

Tortington · 02/01/2007 20:04

you a desperate housewives fan?
smallville - i watch for fit bodies of young men not ashamedly

Tortington · 02/01/2007 20:05

oh oh oh

if you are a fan of pop teen

try veronica mars.

roni mars is far and away the best thing on the telly for shite pulp teenage crap.

its great

i also watch medium too - bit samey to watch back to back.

WideWebWitch · 02/01/2007 20:06

OK, agree about Lost, it's getting on my nerves now too.

Alias is fab if completely unbelievable (but hey, a Stargate?) and even ends well at the end of the series. Dark Angel is v good too imo, yes, go for that. Both have sexy men too imo, her boyfriend in both, Vaughn in Alias and eyes only in Dark Angel .

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 02/01/2007 20:06

Gave up on DHwives a few episodes into S2... BabyDragon and exhaustion got in the way IIRC.

Will make a list and scour Ebay for bargains.

Just remembered I never finished Farscape...

OP posts:
tribpot · 02/01/2007 20:08

I've missed Lost completely - didn't want to watch S2 without having seen S1. Is S1 worth it?

What about Prison Break?

Also, in a Buffy vein, Tru Calling - only ran for one series, but good.

If you can get DVDs from the States, my top two recommendations are Popular and Once and Again. Not very sci-fi, but both great in their own way.

Have heard people rave about Battlestar, I'm going to prioritise that after Alias.

WideWebWitch · 02/01/2007 20:09

Oh yes too to Prison Break, also fab.

Tortington · 02/01/2007 20:12

have you tried stargate atlantis - the spin off.

personally i would rather eat my own arse whilst plucking my pubes. but dh is avid stargate fan and he and dd watch it regularly

Tortington · 02/01/2007 20:15

dh suggests
heroes - people with special abilities !

there is a blade series

oh oh

andromeda

jericho - american series post apocolyptic america.

Donk · 02/01/2007 20:18

How about Highlander?
Series about immortals who have to fight it out to be the last man (or woman) standing! Much more interesting than that sounds - some fabulous comic episodes.
Great fun!

nikkie · 02/01/2007 20:39

Charmed and Veronica Mars are boht good
Whats the one with the girl that works in the morgue and changes stuff?

Tortington · 02/01/2007 20:40

thats tru calling - the morgue i think

marthamoo · 02/01/2007 20:42

I'd go for Battlestar Galactica too.

Why did they cancel Firefly? I'm assuming you've seen Serenity?
