Welcome to another thread of respectful appreciation of rabid perving over the glorious sight to behold that is the assorted HBFs of The Musketeers.

(With a side order of whatever/whoever else we decide to blether on about at the time.)

Oh yes, sorry to hear about MrApricot.
I was going to ask if you were going to your holiday place, but I guess you won't be soon!!
We normally go glamping in our caravan for the 2 May bank holidays - begin and end. But this year, we are going for Easter too. My friend said it was freezing 2 years ago. When I mentioned buying an electric blanket, Dh was Hmm

Evening wenches.

Sending recovery vibes to MrApes.

Mouse - ask MrM what he's getting you for your birthday. If he says that game, disabuse him of that notion very fecking quickly.

Excellent photos.

Watching the Steve Backshall thing again but with DS1 this time, just to make sure he's not scared or anything. I think I could be friends with Aldo.

Oh Madame Sad. Were they quite negative about him? He's only six FGS - they should be constructive and positive. < squidge > he has a wench for a mum - he'll be fine.

I think I will head up now Helen. Looks a bit of a climb. I'd better limber up.

Not to worry wenches, I have picked out several presents for myself to which he acquiesced readily. So all's well chez mouse. Guinness also helped

Though I think I may have overdosed the mouselets with olbas oil. Is that possible? I got then to inhale it and they toddled off to bed without complaint and have been silent all night. It can't be that strong, can it?

Madame can I offer you some Guinness or olbas?

mouse ty but Im ok for both of those atm Grin Glad the olbas seems to have worked...

So his teacher pushed under our noses this bit of paper on which she'd typed: Maths - below. Reading: below: Writing: below. It was a bit stark / a bit of a surprise, since it's the first time we've been told he's anything other than "fine / doing well" type thing.

Then she proceeded to tell us he'd probably be ok by the end of the year and no, he didn't need to be in the lower-ability class instead of where he is now. Confused

Have managed to have massive row with P over it. Sad

Morning!

Oh Madame! Sad the communication is poor, no doubt. Stark. But, is it because of the huge leap in curriculum? That all children to reach the ks1, it is so much higher, that those that were previously fine are now only within? That kind of thing?

Yes, I think it's that kind of thing obs. She did say the curric is v hard now, I know it is. But she didnt frame any of it brilliantly tbh and she didnt seem able to give us a lot of detail. Ah well fuck it eh...

Shame cos he was so happy last year and this year it's like he's a different child. Don't know if that's just him or how much it's to do with the jump to year 1.

Morning wenches.

That doesn't sound great Madame. The way she put it, not DS. DS2 teacher at that stage managed to say his levels were average or below but also said what he was good at, he was working hard, what they were doing to help him, and also the social improvement he'd shown. I remember it being a huge leap from reception to Y1 though. She should really have explained things better IMO. < squidge > for you and a < mini-squidge > for DS.

Lovely comfy night in the hayloft in the fresh hay.

Are illing wenches feeling better today?

Report
MadamedeChevreuse · 10/03/2016 08:15

She did say some positive stuff too tbh letus, but I was mainly staring at all the "belows" on the piece of paper and experiencing mild shock at that point...I guess Im focusing too much on the negative side. She didnt give us much detail though, that is true.

FancyFancy · 10/03/2016 08:18

Morning all

It is quite a jump from reception to y1 madame and some schools handle that better than others. Also agree with obs that the communication seems poor, noy only the surprise element, but also if he is 'below' but they think he'll be fine by the end of the year, they should be able to explain why they think this.

How are the ill wenches today (and MrApricot)?

I'm still < squidging > you though okay?

Suppose I'd better take DS2 (who is currently breathing into his sock to warm it up before he puts it on) to school and then go to work.

Have fab days wenches x

Morning - just!

MrApes thanks you for your good wishes. He's a bit better today, but I fear this is going to be a long job. I broke ribs a few years ago, so I know how painful it is. He hates being immobile.

We usually go the the caravan for Easter Obs, but I don't know if DH will be up to it.

Madame, it was a long time ago, but we had the same thing with DD. Everything was fine, until suddenly it wasn't. We were mortified, but she came on in leaps and bounds. I think some children are just late starters.

Hope ill wenches feel better soon and everyone else has a good day. Smile

Madame, KHITFWF.

Being a parent is shit at times. If you're not beating yourself up about something, you're beyond stressed about something else. So much pressure.

I'm sure he'll be fine, he will progress at his own speed. How could he not be fine with such a fab Mummy, eh? < cwtch>
