On reflection, I wasn't too impressed with that ep, I think the first was much better. Not much happened in it iyswim not enough hot th apart from the implausible stuff in devon. However I did like the way they made evil dicky more sympathetic, with his little boy. Is jed his mum do we think? Or just stepmum?

The bloke in the pic is Simon Allen madame. Re TNM I assumed Jed was the SM, but just because of the 'separated from her own child so dotes on the stepchild' trope. Assume the Devon stuff was just him establishing a back story as a nasty piece of work with several false identities and a warrant for his arrest. Also to make Rooper think he has a 'hold' over him as he'll be a fugitive now as far as he knows.

Think I'll be sticking with Aramis madame.......

apes I think the idea is that really he's an idealist / soldier, and the boring hotel manager job is the bit that wasnt really him. Plus living up to his dad, and the fact that they killed his sophie.

But yes. It was a very risky situation to put him in and pretty much anything could have happened, so prob not the most intelligent plan that british intelligence could have come up with.

And Im pretty sure roper's background checks will be good enough to get past the cunning plan of hiding jonathan's history in egypt by "deleting it from his cv".

Who knows though? Maybe that is actually how our intelligence services roll...

I've given up on TNM - the first ep really didn't hook me. Sorry. TH just really badly cast IMHO. Not believable as a hardened soldier.
Work was ok...it stopped raining anyway!

Yes I'm finding the plot a little tenuous in TNM, but I suppose most of these types of programmes/films are a bit far-fetched. I also don't find the Sophie-love very convincing, but I think he also felt guilty for her death - he didn't think RT's argument that she should go back to Hamid was right, but he let himself be convinced.

FML It's proper gorgeous out there. His lessons obviously too tiring. (Nothing to do with the fact he's waking at any time from 5am onwards and not getting to sleep before 9pm.)
