I am hoping someone can help me.

How do I go about finding a good agency for child modelling? I am presuming I would have to do the rounds with a portfolio etc or do agencies prefer to do their own scouting?

The best thing to do is try the top four Kids London, Bruce and Brown, Urban Angels or MOT (these have little or no start-up fees). All you do is send photos of your LO and wait for them to get back to you. They all accept email applications apart from Kids London. Good luck.

Has anyone heard back regarding the Empire casting?

It's been very quiet for ds, nothing since the M&S casting 2 weeks ago.

Has anyone else been to any castings recently or had any confirmed jobs recently?

BigMumma - as far as I can tell everyone is very quiet. I have heard nothing from KL in 2 weeks.

That's a shame, I suppose that's the way it goes sometimes. Hope it picks up soon for everyone though!! xxx

I applied yesterday for lucca to join b&b and they emailed me today to ask if i can ring them, so i jst rung and she said Nita has just gone home, and thats who i need to speak to, she asked have i signed with other agencys yet and i said no, she said ok, can you ring back after 10am tomorrow morning. Could this be because they want to sign him???

They sound as though they are definitely interested in Lucca. They will probably chat to you about the world of modelling and ask you to go in for an assessment I would have thought. Can't say the procedure 100% as we are with Urban Angels, but there are several mums on here with ds / dd's with B&B so they will be able to help more. Good luck!!

Do they pay for travel expenses when travelling to castings and jobs? if so is there a limit to how much they pay??

my dd went to boden casting and i had given up on it.I no the dates were around 5/6 feb but i thought those that got it would've already heard. Did they tell u they would be letting people know this week

hiya this time next year, we understand the everyone is worried because of everything thats happened over the past months. And now you have just suddely joined mumsnet and have only ever posted here in childmodelling, and in the first post you asked if you could join. seems iffy to me

Nothing iffy about me i can assure u. I havent just joined, i joined mumsnet early last year. I havent had anything constructive to say, im sure that not everyone that is interested in the modelling threads feels able to post. My dd has been modelling with kids London for nearly 2 yrs and like i said i am willing to provide detailed info to confirm this if anyone wants to email me. I have posted on notapushmum admittedly this was last year. Doesnt mean because i havent posted that i have something to hide. Please email me to put your mind and anyone else that may be suspicious at rest.

Ok, im not saying that you are not who you say you are, but when searching for your posts its just comes up with 5 posts total. And they are all in thes thread, or am i making a mistake? please say if i am, or i read it wrong.

you are correct. I have only posted to ask to join the group and answered cindyl. I am only interested in the modelling threads although of course i read the others. I have never posted before and to be quite honest the way i feel i am being scutinised i was probably right not to do so. My dd did attend the boden and the Empire castings and i can prove it.i am just an ordinary mum with a daughter that models who up until recently was happy just to pop in and read the threads.

Thanx. To all those awaiting Empire i also havent heard although if i go from experience they usually call back for a fitting. looking back they cast quite a while before the actual job.

No i didnt ask. DD done few things with them. last time it was three weeks before they were called back for fitting and then they did the job the next week.So no news etc
