There's still plenty of room for posts on the current thread but I'm starting this one now as I may be offline for some time.

I've asked iklboo to keep an eye on my FB timeline and to copy / paste the updates here so they should appear as and when.

Make sure you have your chianti and fava beans ready for the 11th!

Hi married - it's almost done & dusted. Are you thinking about a big joint 'celebration' next year, then?

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 15/12/2015 20:29

OK, I think we need a concerted Phalanx pincer movement to rid Zombie of her troublesome tooth.

Put your names in the hat to be the one to actually wield the pliers Grin

Ikl and lin in charge of post-op brow mopping and temple massage.

Where is magi with the gin when we need her?

iklboo · 15/12/2015 20:39

Got me magic sponge ready here B3 - Zombie, I do hope you get your troublesome tooth sorted before we have to resort to Phalanx Skool of Dentisterisation.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 15/12/2015 21:56

You are first in the hat Ikl (refuse to use new emojis)

Ach, she'll have to go through multiple levels of bollocks bureaucracy to get tooth sorted officially.

Phalanx can sort the mechanics, Z just needs to sort the painkillers Grin

Whaddya think Z?

Drone is fired up, we can be there at drop of cat's tail ....

marriednotdead · 15/12/2015 22:18

Hello again Smile

Thanks BBB Flowers
Definitely want to celebrate a new life along with a change of decade!

I vote for the old string tied to a door handle dentistry style, too squeamish for a close up with pliers Grin

IamtheZombie · 15/12/2015 22:35

I think if I just give it another few days nature will take its course. I'm working on the theory that as it comes out gradually it will also be healing. I want to minimise bleeding and leaving too large a wound as a route to getting an infection.

Zombie is well stocked with a variety of pain killers. Grin

Humph, you're probably right Z.

really wanted a Zombie tooth on my Christmas necklace

Mummylin · 16/12/2015 00:10

Prepares herself ready to mop Zombies brow. How annoying that is for you Zombie. ( sterilises pliers ready to help )

IamtheZombie · 16/12/2015 00:35

For info:

The tooth in question is the 2nd (last) molar on the bottom jaw, right hand side.

I've done a bit more poking around. It's at half mast. That no doubt explains why it no longer hurts when I bite down. Dr Dentist Google says this tooth has 2 roots. I'm pretty sure my molar is holding on by 1 root now. At least it's loose enough that bits of food are no longer getting stuck.

Doing my best to keep infection at bay by frequent rinsing with warm salt water.

Good morning Phalanx!!

So, it's the middle of December yet I'm able to have the windows wide open for fresh air. ZombieCatsâ„¢ are bemused. As am I.

4 loads of laundry are lined up for today. The first load is on the go and it looks as though I'll actually be able to peg it out on the line to dry.

It's the little things in life...

Mummylin · 16/12/2015 13:51

I also am doing laundry Zombie, but I don't think I can hang mine out. I have bedding to so and there is no wind to blow the washing at all. It's dull and dismal, but dry.
Hope that tooth comes out soon ! Glad it's not causiñg any pain.

IamtheZombie · 16/12/2015 14:06

I'm washing a lot of bedding too, lin. That will go through the tumble dryer. It's jeggings and track suit bottoms that are on the line. They won't dry completely outside but when I bring them in they'll go on the clothes rack beside the radiator in the back bedroom. The hot water tank is also in that bedroom so the room is very toasty. They'll be ready to wear by tomorrow morning.

Tooth is continuing to make slow progress on its way out.

Mummylin · 16/12/2015 15:00

I usually finish everything off in tumbler, saves on ironing, not my fav thing ! Last load just doing now. I have got dinner prepared as dh and I going shopping this evening. I expect he will drive me mad. But is handy for carrying stuff ! Have done a lot today actually but that's only because I was up early to go to doc with dd.
We actually went yesterday, she came in for a cuppa before she went to doc Was quite tearful and I asked if she was ok going on her own, she said she wanted me to go. It was about 8 mins to her apt ! I shot off to throw clothes on. Boots but no socks, no wash. Combed hair in the car, got there in time and guess what. It was the wrong bloody day !! Today I was up washed and dressed ! So have had plenty of time to do stuff today as was up early.

iklboo · 16/12/2015 16:55

Typical Lin - DH always gets the wrong day.

One lots of bloods back. My cholesterol is slightly higher than normal and they sent a patronising diet sheet about eating less fat. Except this is no surprise as my cholesterol has always been slightly higher than normal & previous tests said this is normal / natural for me and not actually anything to worry about.

Not sure when the others are due - I'll phone Monday & ask them to send me a full copy of the results. I can work most out myself, discuss the rest with a doctor friend.

IamtheZombie · 16/12/2015 19:07

Zombie loves reading lab results. And scan results.

Strange Zombie.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 16/12/2015 19:52

You're a fabulous mother lin, hope your daughter is OK and problems are solved soon.

I hope your results are good Ikl, it must help that you can 'read' them.

Strange goes with unique Zomb Smile

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 16/12/2015 19:53

Oh, and clink!

IamtheZombie · 16/12/2015 20:06

This was my Facebook status one year ago today:

I saw my oncologist this afternoon. He confirmed that the MRI showed that the Tax had shrunk the liver mets. I will continue with Herceptin indefinitely as well as the Exemestane. At this point there's nothing else on offer except regular CT and MRI scans. As soon as something new shows up we'll look at more chemo.

I asked about prognosis. After all the usual disclaimers about each case being different, etc. he told me that given my history and profile the evidence indicates 9 - 12 months.

Obviously I hope I'll do better than that but I just have to take it one day and one step at a time.

I'm still here. I'm now expected to be here for a good while yet.

Fuck you cancer.

OP posts:
Mummylin · 16/12/2015 21:54

Oh I can remember you telling us that Zombie, I think that's when the damn, bugger, fuck team was formed. ! Thank god you can now discount that prognosis. And yes I agree , fuck you cancer !

BBB the problem isn't going to go away anytime soon, I wish it would. Her ex is a chronic alcoholic and he is making dd,s and their dd,s lives as uncomfortable as possible. He is a first class bastard.

Mummylin · 16/12/2015 22:05

Ikl, have just read the blog, and now there is only one more week ! I do hope you will write about something else.
I did laugh when I tried to imagine all the dancers dancing around to Benny hill music. As usual, very good to read.

iklboo · 16/12/2015 22:24

A Phalanx-iversary. A whole year since Team Damn Bugger Fuck. And cancer can keep fucking off as well. We don't want it's scrotey little insidious nastiness round these parts.

Sorry to hear you're still having troubles Lin - there's someone jesse who needs to go to the dark side of fuck and leave you and yours in peace.

Glad you enjoyed the blog. Only one more week and maybe a view of the Christmas Day special. Not sure what to write about next. I'll have to think of something - I've really enjoyed it!

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 16/12/2015 23:49

I'm really very sorry to hear that lin.

At least your daughter couldn't wish for a more loving, supportive family than you and your brothers.

I hope you're all exploring every avenue to keep this man out of your lives.
He can't be allowed to have influence forever.

Mummylin · 17/12/2015 00:30

Our doctor knows all about him and I did ask for cyanide today BBB ! Sadly he hadn't got any !

IamtheZombie · 17/12/2015 16:08

Afternoon!

It's been a busy day:

Thanks to roadworks just outside of Shrewsbury, I made MaccyD with 2 minutes to spare. It was yummy.

The cats are now well stocked with food and cat litter. I also bought them a little Santa hat each. They are so going to love me when I attempt to put the hats on them. Not.

Oncology Clinic was running on time. I saw Dr. G (my favourite senior registrar). He was very pleased with the report on my liver resection. He also said that I'm the only woman he's ever met to have this operation for breast cancer mets. It's commonly done for colorectal cancer mets but not breast cancer. He did a quick physical exam and pulse, heart and lungs were all fine.

I then went around to the Chemo Day Centre, put on my best puppy dog face and asked to resume my chemo as soon as possible. Unfortunately the first available slot isn't until 7 January 2016 so I have to wait a further 3 weeks. At least now I know.

Time to go put another load of laundry on!

OP posts:
iklboo · 17/12/2015 17:53

As long as Maccy's were obtained all is well. Good news from your oncologists. Bit poo about the next chemo, but I suppose there may have been the risk of nasty side effects over ginfest Christmas?

You must try to post a pic of ZCats all Santa'd up if you can (if they've not scratched you to buggery).
