tigeryuan · 04/12/2006 13:52

Hi sha11, ds hasn?t been lucky in the modeling front! he had shot listed for a tv ad, but didnt get it.
I took him to a casting last week and the shoot should be in tomorrow/wed, but I haven?t heard anything yet, so, I think he didn?t get it!! Never mind!

On the other hand, I?m looking forward to our holiday!! Counting down every day!! hheehee!

have you sorted out the liscence with school? Sorry, I haven?t been here for ages and couldn?t keep track of everyone progress!

tigeryuan · 04/12/2006 13:54

leigh28 - try other agencies first. have a look this site www.childmodelling.net/.

some agencies have no upfront fee or mimimum cost! good luck

Meid · 04/12/2006 14:01

Hello

Hope everyone's well and happy.

I'm just looking for some more advice.

Can someone please explain the whole getting permission from school/licensing issue with modelling. I've somehow got myself confused as to whether I need the schools permission before I sign with an agency, or should I approach them when we have the first audition/job?

And when do I approach the council for a license (or is that the same thing)?

Many thanks.
meid x

thorntons · 04/12/2006 14:03

Hi Tiger, you ds is lovely . To get a casting or short listed means he has done really well. Fingers crossed you may still hear re casting as always so last minute. Bet you are looking fwd to your hols!

tigeryuan · 04/12/2006 14:12

thanks thorntons!!
You know what, i've started to regret that I didn?t go with KL!!

do you think its just less demand for a 2-3yrs boy?

thorntons · 04/12/2006 14:15

Tiger, would you consider going with KL and leaving MOT?

tigeryuan · 04/12/2006 14:24

i dont know! Remember that months back when ds accepted by KL, they actually called me that ds had a job! (i could have met thumbs earlier) But, i told them that we'd joined MOT instead, so, they said nevermind and MOT should have lots of jobs for ds! they sent his pics back to me the next day! very efficient!

I?ve done the model book with MOT. So, I?m not sure! Just hoping someone will tell me its because of his age & sex!
As you, thumbs & ellesmum?s girls are around the same age as ds!

anyway, do you have a day off today?

tigeryuan · 04/12/2006 14:28

sorry Meid, i'm not ignoring you, but i cant answer your question! i'm sure someone here will help you later!

thorntons · 04/12/2006 14:42

Hmmmm, difficult one Age 2-3 is always a difficult age group as toddlers can be so volatile (dont we know it) I have read quite a few posts where agencies have told parents to reapply when their LO is over 3 .Maybe its worth having a chat with MOT .By the sounds of it things are pretty quiet for boys age 2-3.Yes I am off today ,back next weekend.I have to swap my shifts around a lot due to childcare and try and work when hubby is off .how is work your end ?

littlemadam · 04/12/2006 14:48

OP posts:
tigeryuan · 04/12/2006 14:51

i had a chat with MOT few weeks ago, they said its nothing wrong with ds and he is lovely. its just not much requirement!
its good that your job is quite flexible!

my work isnt that bad today as i've assigned myself less work!! hehee! we'll be in HK next Wed!!

tigeryuan · 04/12/2006 14:54

littlemadam - can i have it too? thanks!
do you have my email add?

littlemadam · 04/12/2006 14:55

Meid, as far as licences go, you won't need a licence until you get a job, the licence is specific to each job.
Often when you get a photographic job, its at too short notice to obtain one so clients don't bother.
TV and film always have licences though.

When you join an agency, they will get the relevent docs from you (birth cert, doctors letter and Part 2 form) and you will need a letter from the school if necessary. The agancy will normally deal with the application to the Council.

Hope this helps

Still scanning!!! Takes ages....

littlemadam · 04/12/2006 14:56
