Morning....

OP posts:
beacon · 11/12/2006 10:51

Ellesmum >>> No I haven't. Well fingers crossed whatever it is. Would be fab if they both got it! No casting too. Result!

julie4travel · 11/12/2006 10:53

ellesmum - fab. glad she had a good time. we have some of those teddies as brought them in america before the first shops opened over here. i like it how you get a birth certificate etc aswell so nice for a newborn baby. fingers crossed that jobs comes off. i cant wait till 1st jan when my dd will start being put forward for stuff too.

this is an idea actually for anyone if you are near a bear factory. my mum and dad brought extra of the sound things that are optional to put in the teddies. they got the kids to record i love you mummy or happy birthday etc and brought little teddies elsewhere and inserted them into the teddies tops and now i have to little keepsake teddies which i can press and its my kiddies voice that plays. i thought it was really nice and i guess a bit cheaper than the proper teddies

ellesmum · 11/12/2006 10:53

beacon - yes would be good if they both get it! fingers crossed for the both of us!!

ellesmum · 11/12/2006 10:58

julie - thanks, i have to admit the bear fact was very very expensive! definatly the most ive ever payed for a bear! she had one of those sound things in her bear, it makes a cat sound, didnt realise you could record messages on them. her bear is lovely though its even got skates!!

mysonsmummy · 11/12/2006 11:03

ellesmum - how much are they after you get all bits and pieces - thinking of getting one. thanks

ellesmum · 11/12/2006 11:12

mysonsmummy - dd got the biggest bear and a outfit and shoes and skates, she also got the sound that goes inside the bear, hers came to £40 but you can get cheaper bears they start from £10-£18 the outfits also vary in prices but most of them are from £8-£12 the sounds are £2. there is loads of other accessories u can buy, but they are soo cute and dd loved choosing everything and making it herself so was well worth it for a birthday treat.

julie4travel · 11/12/2006 11:15

ellesmum i never paid that! i think we got the cheaper ones about £15 with a sound. plus when we get them in usa obviously its a lot cheaper with the dollar rate. they do gift vouchers aswell as we had a ten pounds one we put towards a bear when we made one at milton keynes so could be something for an xmas present?

julie4travel · 11/12/2006 11:20

catch u all later logging off now

dylansluckymum · 11/12/2006 11:29

morning all. glad to hear elle had a good birthday! i sent one of those bears (although i had it made in hamleys as those shops weren't open here yet) to my nephew with my voice singing him happy birthday a few years ago and he loved it. it was a nice way to still be with him even though we live so far apart!

decided not to take ds to next casting today. he's still struggling with that cold (can you believe he's still got it! poor kid) and since he already did a shoot for the next spring/summer directory i thought it's just not worth it with this weather. better to stay wrapped up at home!

we got a tree and set it up this weekend and ds was beside himself trying to get hold of it. we tried to hold him in front of it to take a photo and he was literally flinging himself backwards upside-down to try and grab it! pretty funny. definitely feeling more christmasy though!

ellesmum · 11/12/2006 11:30

julie - i got a gift voucher aswell, the bear and everything came to £35 and they said if i payed an extra £5 i would get a £10 voucher back which i did so with the £10 voucher i bought the bear some shoes and skates, it is expensive but think that was cos she chose the biggest bear.

ellesmum · 11/12/2006 11:31

dlm - ahh hope ds feels better soon!

Lolly68 · 11/12/2006 11:54

DLM - hope bubbs gets better soon.

Raga - welcome back from the cruise. What P&O ship was it? I'm going on Oceana at Easter and have been on Aurora.

Ragamuffin · 11/12/2006 12:27

Lolly......It was on Oceana! Lovely ship!! You'll have a Fab time on it at easter.

housemum.......I'd love to say that the porfoilios were entirely my idea, but they aren't. I have seen other parents doing this. With MOT, we often go to castings with adult models and they all have their Book. I had seen that some children did this too. So I made mine. I have only been asked for our "book" once, but we do show it at all photographic castings now. I have also done work with children from KL who have bought a portfolio book from the agency. It had KL engraved on the cover. I also have a sheet inside ours with the kids latest measurements and agent contact details so that all the info needed for those endless casting forms are in one place. I think the books just look professional and like we take the kids "work" seriously.

dylansluckymum · 11/12/2006 14:14

raga - i bet it makes the kids feel very professional and important as well! i definitely think that's something i'll do for dylan if he wants to continue modelling when he's a bit older.

bluetiger · 11/12/2006 14:20

santassackyackertyyack · 11/12/2006 14:26

DLM - Hope your little chap feels better soon. Sounds like he is looking fowrad to christmas We were early doors this morning and got soaked so don't blame you for staying in!!!

Lolly68 · 11/12/2006 14:34

Raga - really looking forward to it. Although it wont have the weather like you had in Carribean!

Ragamuffin · 11/12/2006 15:55

Lolly....Where will you be cruising???

Lolly68 · 11/12/2006 16:08

We are going to Monte Carlo first and then down to Barcelona, Rome, Elba, Florence and Corsica then back up to Gibralter and home. 14 nights. We taking DD with us so it should be an experience! We chose not to do a height of season one cos of the weather being too hot for her.

Ragamuffin · 11/12/2006 16:29

Lolly... Sounds lovely! Oceana is also really good for little ones & teenagers. A little too sedate for my age group kids though. So if we ever paid to go on a cruise would definately choose a ship more suited to their needs.

cyan · 11/12/2006 16:34

housemum · 11/12/2006 16:55

Julie- I did reply last week - have forwarded again! No news on Marie Chantal so will assume it's a "no" - shame, as it was the most positive response we've had at a casting! Glad in a way as her social life is v hectic - this week she has pre-school play one day and party the next. Next week she has a party Monday, boat trip to Santa Tuesday, Persil Penguin party Thursday and to a friend for lunch Friday.
