Morning....

Hi there all - been reading with interest as about to accept contract with Scallywags but have noticed that none of you are with them... is there a reason for that? Do they not get the jobs? Would i be better trying somewhere else? DD is 5 months old. Are your children babies or toddlers or even bigger? hope you don't mind me asking - it seems like you've all got a really good relationship and are not competitive at all.

mrsratty · 06/12/2006 16:08

Hello Jamillie,
Most of us are with Bruce and Brown, Urban Angels or Kids London which all have really low start up fees and seem to be some of the top ones. Have you ried any of these? Scallywags are good just very big and expensive.

mrsratty it's always the only children that are most convincing to me... one of my best mates is an only child and wants to have about 10 herself! i'm sure the broodiness will start kicking in when ds is 18 mos or so... i just am not a good pregnant person. wish dp could do the carrying!!!

jamillie, i do see kids from scallywags all the time so they definitely get work. they are just a bit pricey and have quite a lot of kids on their books so have internal competition for jobs. i'd try applying to the others just to see! best of luck.

mrsratty · 06/12/2006 16:47

I though I wanted a 2 year age gap but when DD was 1 I knew I really wasn't ready. I started to come round to the idea when she was 18 months and started trying when she turned 2, hence the 2 year 9 month age gap! I really don't like pregnancy but do love babies.

OP posts:
lanismum · 06/12/2006 16:54

with all this talk of babies, thought id let you know i had my 20 week scan yesterday, and i have another little girl! am really really pleased, not that i wouldnt have been had she been a he, but i was secretly hoping for another girl, and at least now all lani's lovely clothes will get a bit more wear! i always knew i wanted more than one, and this baby will be born 1 month after Lani turns 2, but, had i known how hard it would be looking after a toddle whilst pregnant, there might have been a bigger gap

lanismum · 06/12/2006 16:56

oh, and i hate being pregnant too mrsratty, the only part i enjoy is the scans, im just not very good at it, this will def be my last for at least 3 or 4 years though........................

littlemadam · 06/12/2006 16:58

Mrsratty, I'm the other way, love pregnancy, but not very good with the tiny baby bit, I struggle with three hour wakings!! We tried for second at a year but got a bit delayed!!! Lots of my friends have four, but I think I'm just not cut out for lots of children!!

Scallywags do get lots of work, and are good IMO, but I'd try others before you accept, as they do have high fees. UA take babies all year don't they???

Lolly68 · 06/12/2006 17:14

I love being pregnant too but hate not being able to have a glass of wine... found that really difficult!

mrsratty · 06/12/2006 17:14

Congrats on having another girl as mother of two I have to say girls are best! I did love having scans and was lucky enough to have a few. My mum came to one with mad and in the waiting room told me off for eating chocolate. I told her babies like to drink the fluid if it's sweet, she didn't believe me until she saw DD gulping away with her massive mouth.

....talking of pregnancies DD is doing Juniorp&b tomorrow!!!!

littlemadam · 06/12/2006 17:27

Congrats Yackerty - your DD is just soo busy!!

Lanismum, another girl, thats fab, all those lovely pink things!!

I love scans too, I had one at every appointment, and got quite a few pics though some of them are just plain scary!!! I was pregnant on millenium eve, and really felt left out alcohol wise...

Mrsratty, there was a Swedish study that proved chocolate made for happier babies (and mummies!)

mrsratty · 06/12/2006 17:33

yackertyyack - well done!!

I was so paranod about things going wrong that I avoided so many things and didn't even think about alcohol with DD1 was more relaxed with DD2 and did have the occasional glass of wine.

Paddlechick666 · 06/12/2006 18:19

hi jamille

b&b have closed their book till 1st march.

i'm waiting to hear if dd has been accepted by scallywags.

if not then perhaps i'll try b&b then, if i had a printer or could organise myself properly i'd send to kids london too!

good luck
;-)

mrsratty · 06/12/2006 18:21

Are B&B still accepting babies or are they closed to all?

perfumelady · 06/12/2006 18:22

congrats to lanismum all those pretty girls names to choose from.

marymay wow he is a busy lad at the mo, is it a commercial? so happy for your dd, that makes life a lot easier for you. urban angels seem really busy lately i think now they are into there third year they have really established them self and i've def' noticed that there are a lot more jobs without castings which is fab. good luck with the casting i will have everything crossed for them both

ellesmum · 06/12/2006 18:49

congrats lanismum, i would love to have another girl, love buying all the cute pink girly clothes!

marymay - well done to your ds and dd, good luck for the casting hope they pick both of your los.

bit of a random question but has anyone got the v.smile game console for their kids? am thinking about buying one for dd for christmas, i know its from age 3 but just wondered if it was hard to use?

marymay · 06/12/2006 19:00

hi perfumelady ..how are you? i didnt ask if it was for a commercial, but i think it is as its a two day shoot.so keep everything crossed for us.i think its such a long shot when you go for a casting for a commercial but you never know..btw ds and your dd express pictures are on ds web page.have you looked a your dd?

unimum · 06/12/2006 19:17

Dylan's mum - did Dylan do an xmas shoot for Tesco?

julie4travel · 06/12/2006 19:56

evening all

lm- still not heard back on a date for tb, hopefully soon

marymary lucky you - good luck with the job

dylansluckymum · 06/12/2006 20:06

unimum, ds did a tesco shoot that was for in-store promo but he wasn't in anything christmasy. he was in a couple fuzzy tops with stuff on the front. there was a girl that was wearing a red velvet dress though so i think they did some xmas that day. tbh i'd kind of given up that they'd used them because they were quite a bit too big for him anyway. i remember it fondly though because it was the first day he sat up by himself so would be nice to have a keepsake from it!

well done yackerty on junior p&b!!! is it near shepherd's bush? the people on ds' shoot were super nice.

good luck marymay for vw casting. wouldn't it be such a lovely memory for your kids to do something together as brother and sister! really hope they get it.

congrats lanismum on having a girl! it's definitely the only thing that ever makes me really consider having another. i love the scans as well, dp bought me a 4D scan for my bday when i was 28 weeks. they give you a dvd and everything it's so amazing!!!

unimum · 06/12/2006 20:48

I just wondered because I had some things sent to me with a little boy on who looks about Dylan's age - he is cute whoever he is lol!

dylansluckymum · 06/12/2006 20:53

ah well if he's in christmas gear then it's def not him. lots to look forward to in jan though!
