Hi all. Just to let you know, Essbee is taking a bit of a break from MN, so you won't be seeing her for a bit.

I saw her this morning and will see her again soon, and will, of course, pass on any positive messages you'd like her to hear.

Ok. My feelings from what I read this morning...

The UNP (Unnamed Poster) has been through a lot herself (I didn't know how much until just now). She was harsh, but to me it sounded like it was what had worked for her to help her get through it all.

She left sounding very upset too.

I felt (and I can speak for no-one else, or for what happened after about 8.30am) that it was a different personality thing - the advice that UNP offered works for personalities like hers, Essbee sounds much more like me, and it would not work for me (and would probably have upset me, but not intentionally iyswim).

People are different - we know that, we're not stupid. Its like with punishments for children - naughty step works beautifully for some, and does all for others.

I didn't feel it was said out of spite - just from a different perspective.

FrivolentDemon · 23/11/2006 15:34

Oh, I was talking towards the end of the thread, not whether or not it should have been started - that was with the best ofintentions.

soapbox · 23/11/2006 15:34

VVVQV -

My comments were not about what you wrote but what someone else wrote later on!

I was laughing at Rhubarbs change of tack on teh thread - not at what had been written, which for Essbee were certainly no laughing matter!

FrivolentDemon · 23/11/2006 15:35

Better to admit when you have been wrong and to be open to new opinions than consistent and wrong

Jimjams2 · 23/11/2006 15:37

oh well thank you for thinking of me- all the boys would love it- ds1 would think it was heaven (won't even tell you what he did with a real drill ?o) but dh wouldn't talk to me

VeniVidiVickiQV · 23/11/2006 15:38

Sorry - but I have absolutely no sense of humour as far as this whole episode is concerned.

So please save the jaw-dropping thing for another subject. I'm really not in the mood to play tit for tat about what you thought was funny about any of this.

None of it is, IMO.

CountessDracula · 23/11/2006 15:39

If essbee wants a break why don't you just let her have one and not start threads raking it all up again? Really what is the point?

oliveoil · 23/11/2006 15:42

if I was to take a break I would just take one rather than announce I was going to

not that I would take a break you understand

CountessDracula · 23/11/2006 15:43

Oh I give up
It is like fecking kindergarten on mn atm

Very feeble

soapbox · 23/11/2006 15:43

VVVQV - well thankfully I don't have to justify what I do or don't find funny to you!

On this thread or any other thread!

Rhubarb · 23/11/2006 15:44

Misunderstanding.

VVVQV - no-one is laughing at the thread or at essbee, I injected some humour into the thread so have a go at me, not the others.

Yes I am doing an about turn knowing what I know now. And personally I think the huge about turn is rather funny! So feel free to laugh at me!

oliveoil · 23/11/2006 15:44

Marina · 23/11/2006 15:50

Rhuby you daft thing
That was some volte-face.
hope that both parties to the discussion come back to Mn soon

pageturner · 23/11/2006 15:50

It was my idea to let people know that Essbee was taking a break as I thought people would wonder where she was. I did check with her first.

Rhubarb: your about-turn is very interesting. it was what I was referring to earlier when I suggested people might feel differently if they knew who it was.

I'm sorry this thread has gone like this, it was intended simply to let people know that Essbee was OK but not here atm. End of.
