I knew you'd like to know facts! Grin

mummylin2495 · 08/06/2015 11:50

Hello Phalanx and of course a huge hello to Zombie.
Here's hoping you had a really relaxing weekend Zombie and that you are now going strength to strength daily. I bet the Zombiecats are enjoying having you home as much as you are enjoying being home.
When will your next apt be ?

What have you got Zing, a 9 seater must be quite tricky?

Very good for ferrying horizontal phalanx though Grin

Have you still got your house full of your boys lin?

I hope you've got lots of people popping in checking on you and helping Zombie and that your strength is building.

I've been wondering/worrying about how you're getting on with the [puff] withdrawal and whether you ever managed to get on with vaping.

You've told us that your garden is quite a steep slope and difficult to manage, so I hope you're still getting help with that too, and managing to enjoy it.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 08/06/2015 19:59

Bee
our main car is an 8 seater VW, which is good for chauffeuring "laid back" phalanx about, but the our second car (the The Yellow Wonder Skoda) kinda fell apart so we replaced it with a Jaguar! Shock

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 08/06/2015 20:12

how are you Zombie? Any luck with erying your Inbox?Wink I hope you can do little tasks that won't tire you out but make you feel less frustrated at having to take things slowly.
gentle hugs from all of usThanks

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 08/06/2015 20:37

ooh-la-la Jagu-ar!

My fave car ever would be a Morse Jaguar, but navy blue with white wall tyres and spokey wheels Blush

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 08/06/2015 20:45
Grin

it's navy blue! come on, I'll take you for a spinWink

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 08/06/2015 20:56

I don't really want to start a whole thread or anything but my godmother was killed in a car accident this weekend. It's all very unreal still. Had a hard time concentrating at work today.

Hope no one minds the derail, I just wanted to mention it.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 08/06/2015 21:35

Oh Hearts, so, so sorry sweetheart.

Sudden death like that is unreal.

Bloody well done even going to work today, lots of people wouldn't.

Love and hugs xxx

mummylin2495 · 08/06/2015 21:47

So sorry to see that hearts . What a terrible shock that must be for you and her family. Simply heartbreaking.

OP posts:
Allalonenow · 08/06/2015 21:59

Oh Hearts so so sad for you, and so sudden, what an awful shock. Can you get time off work? Thinking of you and her family. Thanks

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 08/06/2015 22:14

Thank you all Flowers Mentioning it here has actually really helped, you fab Phalanx you.

The funeral is on Thursday back home (Canada) so I won't be able to go. Amazingly my dad is talking about going (he is palliative at home, barely been out of bed let alone downstairs let alone out of the house let alone an hour's drive away!!) They were very very close, more like brother and sister than cousins.

When I was home with the DDs in April Mary came to see us and my DDad and spent the afternoon with us. I am just so grateful that we all had that time with her. DD1 sang for her - she was a hugely talented musician - I know my girls are old enough now that they will remember her.

I tried to put some words on paper to her daughter tonight. Bit tricky. Bit too emotional. Will try again tomorrow.

mummylin2495 · 08/06/2015 22:28

I think it is always difficult to know what to say in these circumstances. I also didn't know what to write last week to the faily if our friend who took his own life. In the end all I could write was " I'm so sorry " but of course your circumstances are different. Maybe after you gave had a good sleep you will think of something suitable.

magimedi · 08/06/2015 22:31

Flowers for you Hearts

I think all you can say is that you have no words that can express the loss.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 08/06/2015 22:41

You guys are so kind.

Life is so weird. When dad saw her in April I know he was thinking it might be the last time he saw her in person - but because he would be the one to go. Just so weird, so fucked up.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 08/06/2015 22:43

Mummylin Flowers Your situation was a total nightmare.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 08/06/2015 22:43

Writing when you feel raw is good I think, revisiting the next day and refining a bit, but it's a very emotional time so don't brush all that away.

Personal stories and memories are so valued by the person reading what you write, that's what I'd concentrate on, especially if you can remember something funny.

xxx

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 08/06/2015 22:48

oh Hearts so sorry to hear, truly sorry for your lossSad Thanks

PeaceOfWildThings · 09/06/2015 10:42

catsrus · 09/06/2015 21:40

I've just found the new thread - so sorry to hear your news hearts

Zombie you are an amazing woman, thrilled to hear you are at home Grin

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 09/06/2015 23:55

Righty-ho, am fed up with being cold in June, and cave living has its limitations.

Suggest Phalanx decamps south for a month or 3

I suggest a very pretty little island just south of Crete I've invented it
must be guaranteed heat.

Tree houses would be nice wouldn't they, it's a very wooded island.
Easy access to Crete or, illegally if we're quiet, mediterranean Turkey for supplies.

It's not the one that was a leper colony with a book about it, but close by.

What do you think, do we have any sailors?
