Right my lufflies....

I'm in a Bake Off sweep at work. When your contestant is booted off you have to bake something to take in. I've drawn Paul.

When he gets the chop I'm planning on making strawberry & coconut sort of toffee flapjacks (an accidental recipe) and some sort of upside down cake - but I know some of the team aren't keen on pineapple. What other fruit would work well in an upside down cake?

Apple

Apricots - the semi dried ones.

Prunes - semi dried again - I loves prunes.

Ooh apple would be nice, I think.

Mandarin segments maybe? With an orangey or lemony sponge?

Might mandarin be a bit wet & give you a soggy bottom?

Finally I have managed to get back on. During all the hacking etc, somehow MN managed to deregister me ! It has been a total pain in the ass, I have been able to read posts but not post myself. When we were first asked to change passwords i didn't receive the link, after many emails I was told I had de registered ! But I hadn't, then they realised they had done this by mistake ! Now I am back to being a virgin poster as it were, no pm,s no history, Zilch. But they have said I can prob get my old user name back in a couple of weeks. Hope you are all ok , especially you Zombie, I hope you are having a fab time. I am so glad to be back on. I even had to make a new email which is the first time I have ever had to so this myself. But I finally managed it this morning !

I'm ok now I can post again BBB. I had no idea how much I would miss everyone ! And it was so frustrating when HQ said I had de regged after about the 5th day when I hadn't ! But I have had apologies and finally back on so it's all ok again. What a time it's been hasn't it. I wonder what our leader is up to. She will be amazed when she comes back here , I hope MN have mailed her about changing her password etc.

So pleased for you Zombie that you and ZLad are having such a wonderful time, I bet you are smiling from ear to ear absolutely all the time.

Hello Phalanx.

All good things must come to an end. This morning I had to say goodbye to ZombieLad and wave him off onto his flight back to Virginia. I didn't cry (while he could still see me). It's been the most magical fortnight ever. We got a fair amount of sightseeing done and also had a lot of quiet time just enjoying being together.

We also ate. A lot. I've put on 6 lb while he's been here. He's a HUGE fan of the Full English Breakfast so we had one almost every day. There there were the dinners. Anyway, foods he's had for the first time: fish & chips at the Welsh seaside, black pudding, haggis, steak & ale pie, pork pie, scotch egg, and I'm sure there are others. Oh... Yes... Marmite - and he loves it. If we didn't look so much alike, I'd wonder if he'd been switched at birth.

The ZombieCats were ALL enchanted by him. I think they like him more than they like me. The feeling was mutual but he has his own AbbyCat to go home to. They're just working out that he didn't come home with me and they look most displeased. I think I just heard one say something about a petition to send me to Virginia and bring him back here.

I think I'll take to my bed now.

Aw, Zombie so glad you had such a great time. I know the feeling well when you see them off to 'forrin parts' (and mine's not as far away as yours).

Glad to hear about the weight gain & hope you have plans for your next meet with Zlad.

How are you Zombie ? I'm sure you are missing having your ds around, but hopefully you will meet up again in the not so distant future. You saying how much he loved the English breakfast, we had some German friends over and they also loved it, but when we went there we had cakes ! You can't really beat eggs and bacon can you.
Strange weather here today, rain sun, now dark and cloudy but it's very muggy. Not done anything except go down the garden to pick my favourite veg, runner beans !

Saturday evening and all day Sunday I basically slept the clock around. Yesterday was also quiet but at least I was awake.

I had an earlyish start this morning. Managed to get my MaccyD breakfast before reporting for chemo at 0930. Everything went like clockwork and I was out the door at 1200. Made a quick call at Costa for a small vanilla latte and a double espresso. Then it was thorough shuffle through Sainsburys. Home, shopping put away and now relaxing. Hoping side effects continue to leave me alone!

Really, really missing a certain someone. As are the ZombieCats™.

You must have been firing on adrenaline while SonShine was here so sleep catch up will have been much needed, well done

Aaww, you're bound to be missing your lovely boy, and sure to a bit down after the grand time you've had together.

What an inspired choice Aberystwith was for an old fashioned seaside holiday. Such a pretty place, I wonder if they still have the steam train going up into the hills, I think it went to Devils Bridge.

According to the BBC article 986 Breast Cancer patients are currently receiving treatments that will no longer be funded for new patients from 4 November. Several BC drugs are on the cuts list including my drug Kadcyla (TDM1). Because I'm already on the drug, I can continue as long as it is effective for me. Despite the hiccoughs with side effects on cycles 1 & 2, TDM1 appears (so far) to be very effective for me.

What a fucking lottery.
