ZombieLad (aka ZombieSonshineâ„¢) arrived safely Sunday morning. Having not really slept on the plane, he was rather shattered so slept most of the afternoon. He didn't miss dinner though!

Monday we went into London. We started off at the Changing of the Guard. It was absolutely heaving with tourists!!! We bravely stuck it out. From there we walked up The Mall to Trafalgar Square. He paid a flying visit to The National Gallery while I sat on wall of the fountain. Next was a saunter down Whitehall past Horse Guards and Downing Street to Parliament Square. Had a look at Big Ben and the Palace of Westminster. Then it was on to Westminster Abbey which merited a full tour. Walked up Victoria Street in search of something to eat and ended up at Ed's Easy Diner in Victoria Place. At long last it was back to the hotel and an early bed.

Yesterday we the very, Very, VERY scenic route home via Stonehenge. We made it to Bridgnorth about 6:30 so went straight to Wetherspoons for Steak Night. I had the rack of ribs and he had the large full grill.

So far today we've been into Craven Arms, I've had blood drawn, we've had breakfast and now back home. Off out again in a little over an hour to head for Shrewsbury. I'm showing him off to the Chemo Day Centre around 3:00 pm before seeing my surgeon at 3:45pm. Then we'll wander around town until 7:30 when we meet Sarah for dinner at Loch Fyne.

Lovely, wonderful, fabulous!

Keep up the good work you two Grin

IamtheZombie · 20/08/2015 00:42

The rest of today went well. Got to the hospital at 3:00 and went to the CDC. It was pronounced that ZombieLad? and I look alike. He told the nurses to take good care of me and they told him the same thing.

We reported to the Breast Clinic in good time for my 3:45 appointment. I was called through at 4:45. Check up was fine. By 5:00 we were on our way out. Along the way I met one of the Ward Sisters from my stay on the Oncology Ward. Cue huge hugs and a declaration of how well I look. She told ZombieLad that we'd had several "scary nights". She made me promise to pop into the ward and say hi to everyone.

We took time for a Costa break before doing a bit of grocery shopping. Then we headed to the restaurant for dinner with Sarah?. She and ZombieLad really hit it off. I must admit it was a wee bit strange bringing 2 parts of my family together. Dinner was fabulous and a good time was had by all.

Tomorrow is going to be a quiet day. I need to ring my GP's surgery to find out my blood test results.Otherwise we're just going to play it by ear.

magimedi · 20/08/2015 08:13

So pleased to hear what a good time you are having.

Enjoy your quiet day today.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 20/08/2015 14:50

Well, what a palaver with all this hacking nonsense. I couldn't manage to log into get a password reset until now.

Hope you've been having a fantabulous time Zombie. Sounds like you're all having fun.

I'm back home now after a wonderful week in Norway. Fell head over heels in love with the place.

iklboo · 25/08/2015 17:06

Has the phalanx gone poof???

Hope you've been having a lovely time Zombie.

iklboo · 25/08/2015 17:07

Has the phalanx gone poof???

Hope you've been having a lovely time Zombie.

magimedi · 25/08/2015 17:14

Don't think the Phalanx has gone 'poof' - just been nearly 24 hrs sans MN.

The stuff I have got done!!!!

Hope you & Zlad are still having a great time, Zombie.

BBB - are you OK in your caravan? Not washed away, I hope.

iklboo · 25/08/2015 18:58

Hello magi, me old china!

magimedi · 25/08/2015 19:09

Waves to Ikl - me old mate!

Wine - cos it's bloody cold & miserable here - not like wot summer should be!

iklboo · 25/08/2015 19:18

Wine - ditto. It's sodding freezing here. I've had to close the bedroom windows. No heating on yet, but it's a close thing.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 25/08/2015 19:23

I think the Phalanx is the best and ultimate rainy day friend. we are here when we are needed, otherwise we are happily getting on with stuff in the knowledge that Zombie is doing ok.

especially now, the her Sonshine is brightening every moment of her lifeSmile

makes me happy to think about the lovely time they are spending together.

magimedi · 25/08/2015 19:30

Heating went on for an hour @ 5.30pm.

Every sodding month this year it's been on.

And I live in the 'sunny' SE!

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 25/08/2015 20:03

Caravan is fine and cosy thanks magi, yes had heating on for a bit though.

I'm still fighting this bronchial virus, feeling pretty shit tbh, this is 8th week!

At least it's got me off the fags since last Friday, thank goodness for vaping Smile

Lovely to think of Zombie and SonShine together having a lovely time.

Your holiday sounds fabulous ikl glad you enjoyed it.

iklboo · 25/08/2015 20:44

Thanks B3. I highly recommend Norway! And cruises. Especially Long Island Iced Teas on Norway Cruises Grin.

IamtheZombie · 25/08/2015 22:07

Evening! Yes, we're still here.

Thursday and Friday were quiet days. I had a bit of recovery to do! Saturday was also fairly quiet although I did manage to track down a vape shop so ZombieLad/Sonshine could get a few things he needed. It was in the strangest place though. Even stranger is that there is a tattoo parlour in the same little 'place'.

"What was so strange?" I hear you cry. Well...

It was at a Garden Centre. Need I say more?

Sunday was fabulous with a visit from friends from Yorkshire. We had lunch at the Three Tuns in Bishop's Castle.

Yesterday we went to Ironbridge. We saw the bridge of course and also spent a few hours at Blists Hill Victorian Town. ZombieLad/Sonshine was especially impressed with the Blacksmith. I have to agree, his work is amazing.

Today we've been to Ludlow and spent an hour or so exploring the castle. In the rain. And the chilly wind. It was still amazing.

With luck (and halfway decent weather) we're off to Aberystwyth so ZombieLad/Sonshine can have fish & chips at the seaside. We'll be taking the train so the car can have a bit of a rest.

In other news, my Digoxin dose has been increased again.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 25/08/2015 22:09

I've never done cold holidays or a cruise, they do seem to go together rather well.
Northern lights and the Arctic could only really appeal from the comfort of a cosy ship.

magimedi · 26/08/2015 08:24

BBB - you keep off those fags! It's now coming up three (yes three) years for me without fags (still vaping) & I was the world's most dedicated smoker.
