I'm glad. Let me top that with photo of BabyZing on his 1st birthday (only a week ago)

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 03/08/2015 20:06

Here's another, face full of cake Grin

iklboo · 03/08/2015 20:14

Oh my word, that's sooooooo cute!!!! He's gorgeous.

mummylin2495 · 03/08/2015 20:26

Thanks Lin. Boss did look genuinely gutted & said 'you know I think you're brilliant'. Small comfort.

When I get back off my hols we're arranging a mentor for me to do some shadowing & coaching for next time.

Person who got the role will be cheaper than me anyway - I've got 10 years of annual progression which puts me on a higher payscale to them even with the 'enhancement' for the role (she tells herself to make herself feel better) Wink

IamtheZombie · 03/08/2015 21:22

Oh, no!!! ikl, point me in the direction of the knobhead. I doubt they've ever dealt with an angry Zombie before. Angry

Ohhhhh, thank you Zombie. I shall make them aware of The Wrath Of Zombie.

Didn't want it anyway (kicks skirting board). Was rubbish. All meetings & bureaucracy n shit. Prefer being an excellent lieutenant.

(Swigs rather excellent wine my friend bought me for my birthday)

All hail Zombie & the mighty phalanx. Ain't no bastards ever going to grind us down!!!

Love y'all Smile

iklboo · 03/08/2015 22:36

Hope YOU'RE doing okay Zombie. How have you been this week?

mummylin2495 · 05/08/2015 09:48

Hi everyone, miserable day here today, pouring with rain.
Zombie I hope you are back to feeling a bit more normal again, I bet you are counting down the hours now. I am excited for you. What a wonderful tonic for you this visit from ZL will be.
Do you have to have another dose of chemo before he arrives ?

thegreylady · 05/08/2015 18:29

I'm fine marking GCSE English papers so busy atm.

iklboo · 05/08/2015 22:36

Phalanx Physics #101

Decided to change the bed tonight cos I've finished work for 2.5 weeks so thought it'd be nice to have 'holiday bed'.

Stripped off to do this as I planned to jump in the shower afterwards. Bedroom window has blinds so not bothered about being seen.

Now - the science part.......

When one 'wafts' the duvet to settle it in the cover, it creates a draught.

Draughts move the slats of the vertical blind. Quite a bit actually.

Me in the nuddy is visible through the window. Blush

Class dismissed.

mummylin2495 · 05/08/2015 22:41

Grin hope there wasn't a whole crowd outside your house !

You & me both Lin!!

IamtheZombie · 06/08/2015 21:18

Evening all.

I suddenly find myself with a very busy diary!

Tomorrow I see my oncologist at 11:00. Perfect timing for a MaccyD breakfast first.

Monday afternoon I need to go to the hospital to have my pre-chemo bloods drawn.

Tuesday morning I have my chemo at 09:30. Another MaccyD breakfast.

Wednesday morning at 10:20 I see the phlebotomist at my GP's practice to have bloods drawn before seeing my GP later in the week.

Thursday morning at 09:20 I have an appointment at the Liver Clinic in Birmingham. THAT will be an early start!!

Friday I will see my GP.

Sunday I need to be at Heathrow for some reason. Wink Wink Grin Grin IIRC ZombieLad? plays some part in this.

mummylin2495 · 06/08/2015 23:42

Ooh Zombie. ZL,s visit is getting so near now. Hopefully any side effects will of gone by the time he arrives. Have you made any plans for what you want to do when he is here ?
You certainly do gave a lot of aps lined up, but it's all steps towards making you well. Will you then find out if the liver op will be done ?

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 07/08/2015 00:23

well I think Heathrow Day would be a National Holiday if it wasn't a Sunday already!Wink Grin

what a busy time ahead!
good luck with all your appointments darling Zombie, hoping and praying that everything will go well.
Smile

magimedi · 07/08/2015 09:23

So Sunday 16th is the day for the Phalanx to all line up & cheer!

How exciting. Do try to get some rest in between all those appointments so you are ready for the great day.

mummylin2495 · 07/08/2015 10:00

That's an easy date for me to remember, it's my gd,s birthday !
Hope you all have a good day today, it's a beautiful day down here on the South coast. The beach will be very busy today I think. Great for all the holiday makers. Lots of free stuff for kids too.

That's a busy week with an exciting end Zombie. I'll be thinking of you. The Family Iklboo willow at sea on 16th - bound for the Norwegian Fjords.

The 16th is a full sea day with a Gala Dinner (posh) in the evening. Perfect excuse to raise a Long Island Iced Tea small beverage to Zombie, ZLad & the Phalanx.

I'll probably be in radio silence then due to roaming costs, but I will be thinking of you!

IamtheZombie · 07/08/2015 16:35

MaccyD breakfast went down a treat.

Oncology appointment was GREAT. Dr. L is really, Really, REALLY pleased with how much I have improved since my sojourn in hospital. The more I improve, the more she admits that even she wasn't at all sure I would survive that episode. I find that an extremely sobering thought.

The plan continues to take shape. After my chemo next week, she wants me to have a further round on 1st September before having the CT and MRI scans. She reckons that after everything I went through and the 3 month hiatus in the chemo schedule, it will take that long to make sure the chemo is still controlling the liver mets. I'll need to discuss this with the Liver team at the QE next Thursday. They may want to do the scans there. She thinks it's extremely important that I have the surgery and rid myself of those mets. Although the thought of such major surgery doesn't exactly fill me with joy and delight, I'd also like to wave bye-bye to them.

The report on my respiratory test has finally arrived. There were no surprises but the report did say my GP could add another inhaler if I want it.

Now it's time to get back to the housework and laundry!
