Hope it all went well today Zombie.

Evening all.

Judicious use of pain killers is controlling the ear etc. pain. I'm sure part of the problem is that I'm grinding my teeth. Not entirely sure if that's causing the pain or is a reaction to it.

Otherwise it's been a very long day but so far I'm OK. I left home at 08:20 and got to McDonalds at 09:00. After a quick breakfast (YUM) I reported to the Chemo Day Centre at precisely 093:0. They put the cannula in and drew blood at about 10:00. Then they put a flush up. At 11:00 I wandered up to the League of Friends shop for a mug of coffee and a jam donut. I also got a sandwich for my lunch. I returned to CDC at 12:00. Had the Piriton infusion and then still had to wait nearly an hour for the Kadcyla to come up from the pharmacy. That infusion took about 2 hours with a flush to follow. (I had a nice long nap / play session with the Piriton fairies.) My oncologist popped by just as that was finishing and clarified that I should have antibiotics so she wrote the prescription and then I had to wait for those to come up from pharmacy. I finally left hospital at around 16:45. I went to Harry Tuffins for a few things and eventually got home at 18:30.

I'm now watching Holby City and relaxing.

I should know how well I'm going to tolerate the reduced dosage sometime over the weekend. Fingers crossed.

Glad that's over for you Zombie. I hope the side affects are not too severe for you. It's a nuisance about pain in face, as if you don't have enough to put up with, I too am watching Holby. One of my fav programmes. I would think you should sleep well tonight, I certainly hope so.

Fingers very firmly crossed for you Zombie. Sounds like an exhausting day. Feet up now & relax. Hope the ear pain eases for you and you get lots of lovely sleep.

We've been using a 'rainforest sounds' CD at night for my tinnitus. I'm asleep before the howler monkeys kick in . Highly recommended.

I hope you managed to get a good nights rest Zombie, take it easy and get as much sleep as poss.

Today I have slept. I did get up around 8:00am but was back in bed by 10.00am where I remained until 3.30pm. Right now I feel like just having something to eat and then retiring again. But as that would probably mean I would be up at 3.00am, I'm going to try to tough it out until at least 10.00pm.

Yes I can see your thinking , better to go to bed as late as you can and hope you can sleep all through until the morning. The middle of the night is a lonely place to be I think. Have you eaten today ?

Hope you managed to last till 10, lots of sleep and as much food as you can manage will hopefully avert any sneaky side effects.

The AGA has been serviced and is warming up very nicely. I managed to get a lot of the muck off of the enamel with my new steam cleaner this morning and also got a fair bit of the rest of the kitchen at least tidied and hoovered.

My temperature is being better behaved today.

I think I've earned a nap.

I've been away with family in France so am just catching up on all your news. So pleased you now have a plan, Zombie & hope that the reduced dosage is going well.

All sounding very good, v.v. pleased temperature is levelling.

Don't overdo it though, lots of naps and cat cuddles.

How's the eating going?

Here's hoping today has been a good one Zombie and the dreaded side effects haven't kicked in. Maybe you won't get them so badly this time round. Well not too long now until Your DS will be here, I hope your treatment dosent coincide with that, although it would probably make you feel heaps better just by him being here.

Good for you iklboo, that will be the first step out of the way, I'm sure you will do just fine or interviewer will be getting the wrath of the Phalanx and it may involve voodoo dolls !!

Ha! Thanks Lin. Looks like there's me & three others. Two interviews in the morning, two in the afternoon. We're being interviewed by our own boss. That can make it worse! There's a set 'formula' for scoring points on the interview checklist so I'm going to have to be careful to to 'shortcut' any answers because I know she knows me so well......

I'm sure that your boss may just be going through the formalities as she has to be seen to do the right thing, she will probably have a very good idea who is best for the job, and you can't beat a member of DBF team !

I can only hope that's true. But you're right that there's no beating Team DBF & The Queen Of The Phalanx.

Zombie, hope you have had a good weekend and not feeling too bad. If side effects have kicked in I hope they will soon pass, and you can pick back up again.
