I have a small dilemma.......

Work has announced a new senior advisor role in our team. It's ring fenced so only people from our team can apply - it's a pretty specialist role.

Of the team, I think maybe 4 others will apply. Realistically, and sorta blowing my own trumpet, I'm best for the role. I pretty much do it already but without the pay enhancement. They HAVE to advertise it though cos it's a promotion of sorts.

Trouble is, I'm terrible in the interview process. I'm rubbish at Watson Glaser tests no matter how much I practice - I go to pieces - and at interviews I 'we' too much (we did this, we did that instead of I did this etc).

I am dithering whether to apply because I'd feel awful if I didn't get it - and someone who's not really up to the job but is good at interviews does.

This happens REPEATEDLY where I work & they've not figured that out yet.

if you do the job already they must know how good you are and are only interviewing the others with you as the measure.

Can you say that you're rubbish at interviews but great at the job?

Anyone who has visited the ZombieCave™ can testify that the ZombieCats™ shed a LOT of fur. No matter how much I comb or brush them they leave hair absolutely everywhere. Yesterday, in desperation, I splashed out on a Furminator. O. M. G. I really cannot believe how much loose fur it removes and the cats absolutely love being groomed with it. This could be a winner!

Today has been lazy. Lovely skype session with ZombieLad? almost made me forget that I have another toothache. This time I think it really is the tooth. Sigh. Anyway, we're both counting the days until his visit. (SQUEEE!)

Zombie, I think furminating, chilling & skyping with ZLad is accomplishing something. It's more than I did yersterday. I just put one load of washing on. The machine did the hard work, I just pushed a button!

She has a colostomy because of bowel cancer, she deals with it exceptionally well, but she was in agony on thurs night with a blockage and had to call an ambulance. They were going to do a scan and they said she may need a small op. But once the blockage started to clear they decided to leave her. She is going in sept for a colonoscopy and any problems they will see then, hopefully it's just a blockage and nothing returning. She is the last member of my family who has known me since I was a baby and my mums sister. Without my mum she has helped me get through mums death. But fingers crossed, she will be ok.

Oh poor thing, Lin. Everything crossed it's all sorted & she is back on her best form soon.

Sounds like it's yours ikl which should lift some of the anxiety for the interview, so you can relax for the interview, after your coaching.

As you said, you're pretty much doing the job any way, you just need the title and the dosh
