If you are the woman I just insulted in Matalan, I am so sorry, it just came out wrong

What I meant to say was "You look stunning, you really should buy that."

I have no idea why it came out as "Ooh I was wondering who that would suit; it looked so awful on the rail..."

If it helps at all I have been in a state of advanced cringing all the way home because of it.

Do you think she will be perceptive enough to divine my inner meaning?

or has she gone home muttering "Rude twisty faced bint, just because she has no waist and would have looked crap in it"

OP posts:
MarsLady · 23/10/2006 20:40

VeniVidiVickiQV · 23/10/2006 20:45

Franny - i think i get you

Thats really quite funny. Did she say anything back to you?

FillyjonkthePumpkinEater · 23/10/2006 20:55

rofl

now come and advise me on my woes please

FrannyandZooey · 23/10/2006 21:00

Well, she sort of smiled, but it was a bit forced (not surprisingly )

I still had brain flu at this point and was thinking it was just because we British don't normally comment to one another in changing rooms and maybe she was feeling shy

However her expression did give me cause to ponder at which point I realised that I had actually been incredibly insulting

I didn't mean it, honest, I really was trying to express my admiration
