IamtheZombie · 09/04/2015 18:01

Hello darlings.

I had a fantastic weekend with Bill. It really was great to have plenty of time to catch up and to reminisce about old times. Also having my personal chef and sommelier was a bonus! I was very sad to put him on his train on Monday morning.

I had my hair done yesterday. My hair has changed completely! Good thing I like it and that it requires nothing other than washing and drying to look good. I'll try to get some pics up in a day or two.

I saw my oncologist this afternoon. She's pleased with how I'm doing and that I see the liver specialist tomorrow. She doesn't know which treatment they will recommend. She warned me that I can probably expect the week of aches and pains again and told me to take plenty of cocodamol (and a laxative to circumvent the codeine constipation).

So, I'll have more news tomorrow and will update when I'm back home.

Well hello special lady! Thanks for the update. So pleased you had a wonderful weekend of good wine, good food, good company & good times.

Sending you super positive vibes for tomorrow. Is there Maccy D involvement? Hope they come up with a suitable & 'cope able' treatment solution for you.

Stock up on the meds & keep well. Enjoy as much sunshine as you can Smile

Mucho hugs & well wishes!

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 09/04/2015 18:39

Glad to hear you had a good time with Bill, he sounds like a very good friend.

I loved your hair; very gamine Grin, how has it changed?

Good luck tomorrow Zomb Flowers

Codeine has the complete opposite effect on me! Just while we're sharing y'know!

cin cin Wine

Wolfiefan · 09/04/2015 18:50

Glad you had a good weekend. (Loving the idea of a personal sommelier!)

magimedi · 09/04/2015 19:37

Just echoing everything the others have said & lovely to hear from you, Zombie.

Tinned prunes (& their juice) work wonders.

Will investigate a cocktail with prune juice, just for you! Grin

magimedi · 09/04/2015 19:40

And google never fails!!

You need the aptly named [[http://www.barnonedrinks.com/drinks/b/bowel-banger-6983.html bowel banger]]

magimedi · 09/04/2015 19:41

Crap (!) link fail.

Phalanx - stand to attention & all down a bowel banger tonight!

Allalonenow · 09/04/2015 20:08

The only fruity type thing I've got magi is tomato and clam juice, so am mixing a Bloody Caesar with all the trimmings as we speak. Hope that is satisfactory ? Grin

Clinkalissimo!!!

Allalonenow · 09/04/2015 20:10

PS They are very medicinal, as after one or two all pain ceases.

iklboo · 09/04/2015 20:15

Gulps bowel banger. Makes a dash for it.

I've got a teeny bit of vodka, some elderflower cordial, lemon squash & vimto. Not the makings of a great cocktail.

mummylin2495 · 09/04/2015 21:16

Glad to see you had a good weekend with your friend Zombie, as I hope everyone ekes did too.
Hope everything goes well for you tomorrow. My hair has also changed because I have had some purple bits put in !

iklboo · 09/04/2015 22:48

I've accidentally taken a prochlorazapine and a cinnarizine (thought the pro was something else). Not dangerous but it's going to get veryyyyyyyy wibbly in a minute. Wheeeeee. Good job I'm in bed!

Night Zombie. Night Phalanx. Smile

IamtheZombie · 10/04/2015 17:21

Hello darling Phalanx. Update time.

Get your chianti ready. They are going to surgically remove the affected areas in my liver. They will start and hopefully be able finish the whole operation with laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery. If, when they've had a good look around, it seems more complicated than they hope then they will open me up fully. Oh, yes, in either case, I'm also losing my gallbladder.

Surgery is scheduled for Tuesday, 26th May. I'll be admitted the night before. The only 2 things that could postpone the surgery are 1) if a liver transplant case comes up or 2) if no critical care bed is available.

I will be in hospital for 7 - 10 days, the first night or two being spent in the High Dependecy area of the Intensive Care Unit. I will then be moved to the ward for the rest of my stay.

Once I'm home I'll still be very restricted in what I can do for several weeks. I need to get my ducks in a row re people to help me.

This suddenly seems very serious...

Zombie!!!!!!

Is this as good news as I think it is? They must feel it's positive to be giving you this major surgery.

Can I tentatively raise (yet another!) glass to this?

I wish I was closer to you as I'd be round to help like a shot.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 10/04/2015 18:28

lovely Zombir wow, this sounds good news to me!Wine
and a big serious op of course, but such a positive step!Smile

You might remember I had my gallbladder removed 6 months ago, any questions just ask or pm me - hopefully I can help.
definitely no lifting for a while in the beginning (possibly not even your cats, I'm serious, I wasn't allowed to lift 3m old baby!)

But of course you surgical/care team will prepare you well.
aahh, massive hugs.
BabyZing is sending you toothy grins - he's got 2 teeth now!Grin

iklboo · 10/04/2015 19:06

Raising a glass here too Zombie Wine

Sounds very positive. Obviously an op, but everything crossed they can do it Through The Keyhole though with no Loyd Grossman or Keith Lemon. Ugh. The only lemon you want is in your gin.

Either way you absolutely must rest totally or as much as possible after it's been done. No trying to do 'just a little bit' - promise?

I don't think I live anywhere near enough to help you in any practical way, but all positive thoughts & vibes will be heading in your direction, with much love.

Cheers my lovely.

Phalanx assemble, raise a glass
Help our Zombie kick this thing's ass
Whatever your poison, vodka or gin
Clinkissimo darling, salut et cin cin!
