Evening all.

It's been a very quiet weekend as I'm still recovering from my escapades at the party. It was worth it though!

It's going to be a very busy week.

I'm going to ring the Chemo Day Centre tomorrow as a few questions have occurred to me.

Tuesday I have my echocardiogram. I think I also need to have bloods done (one of the questions for CDC).

Wednesday I have my first cycle of Kadcyla. It will be interesting (!!) to see what the side effects are going to be.

Thursday I have my bone scan. It looks like I'll be at the hospital for much of the day. They give me an injection of a radioactive isotope. I then have to wait about 3 hours to give the isotope time to settle well into my bones. Then the scan itself takes an hour. The good news is that I can eat and drink normally so there will be a MaccyD breakfast.

Hospital day 1 of 3 for this week is done. The echo-cardiogram took half an hour! He was extremely thorough. I picked up a blood form from the Chemo Day Centre and toddled along to see the vampire. So that's me all set for my first cycle of Kadcyla tomorrow.

Hospital day 2 of 3 has become hospital day 2 of 4. I was unable to have my treatment today because the hospital pharmacy didn't get my drug in on time. I'm re-scheduled for Friday afternoon. As Kadcyla is only available through the Cancer Drugs Fund it isn't something they would stock so I can't mind too much.

That's a bit cack Zombie - they must have known you were coming? Not ideal for you really, is it?

Hope there have not been any severe side effects of the Kadkyla (and that there won't be, either).
Bone scan today. Does the radioactive isotope mean you can't sit within 3m of people for longer than a certain amount of time for a while, or is it not that strong? I looked up bone scans and found this what to expect for anyone like me who doesn't know what is involved. (There was something about a 'restricted diet before scan' hope MaccyDs can accommodate for that.)

Looks like a long day. I'd take some crochet and a good book if it were me.
