Hospital day 3 of 4 completed successfully. MaccyD was wonderful. Radioactive isotope Technetium-99m was injected at 11.10am. I then toddled off to amuse myself with coffee, water, papers and puzzles until 1.30pm. I was straight into the scanner at 1.30. Scan from the top of my head to my tippy-toes tooks 18 minutes and 22 seconds. The results should be with my oncologist within 2 weeks.

I was reasurred that I pose absolutely no risk to any cat that chooses to take up residence in my lap.

It was actually quite a pleasant experience. So much so that I nearly dozed off!

Hospital day 4 of 4 is FINISHED. The Chemo Day Centre contacted me this morning to bring my appointment forward from 1.30pm to 10.30am. Unfortunately I didn't get the message early enough to have a MaccyD first.

The team don't expect that I will have much in the way of side effects (other than worsening fatigue) as the therapy is so targeted. We shall see. Anyway I have no interim meds to take and only need to monitor my temperature closely. I am having bloods done mid-cycle just to check them. I will be seeing my oncologist before the next cycle as she should have all my scan results within the next 2 weeks.

It's the weekend!!!

Hairy bum flakes to no Maccy D (even though I don't actually like it myself) BUT at least you were finished a little earlier. Glad to hear side effects might not be too bad or not much worse than you've already had.

Talking of gin, BBB - I have been recommended a pub in Brighton called The Office.

Where I can sample up to 40 different types of gin, including many that I long to try.

Fancy a phalanx meeting there?~ Solely for the purposes of bringing the finest gin to you all! Not a piss up at all - oh no, no, no!

As I have a nasty lurgy (caught in France, where I was, seeing DS & DDIL last week) I wil ldispense gin for Sunday now!

PS Had a wonderful conversation with a v old friend about my lurgy & "frog in your throat.................."

I did spend a year or two living there when I was but a stripling........... & they were far better looking than Bruno!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I'll start saving the £2 jar for the gin advent calendar. DH & DS get the lego ones. I think it's only fair I get the gin.
