Pops in late to see if any gossip from Zombie yet ! Have you all had a drink to celebrate MN,s birthday ?

Yes, we've all had a little drink lin. Are you joining us for a nightcap? Baileys perhaps? Or calvados?

Oh yes of course, Justine has probably swept them off to a loft in Clerkenwell, with a jacuzzi full of gin and wall to wall kilims.

No drink for me, I only drink Pernod and have loads here. Had dh moaning all bloody night, he has man flue and it has to be acted out with large sighs and grunts ! So can do with a bloody drink !

The party was absolutely amazing!!! Sorry I didn't do live updates. I don't have a smart phone.

I made to back to Shropshire in time for my oncology appointment this afternoon.

I love my new consultant oncologist. I saw her 3 times when she was a senior registrar. We are going to get along extremely well.

I will be switching from the Herceptin and hormone therapy (Exemestane) to Kadcyla from next week. I needed a heart scan first and they managed to get my appointment brought forward from the 23rd to the 17th.

She is also referring me for a bone scan. I've not had one of those before so that will be a new experience.

She will ask the liver specialists in Birmingham to review my case and advise on possible surgery or radio frequency ablation.

My prognosis depends on a number of factors:

If there is any spread to my bones;

How well I tolerate Kadcyla;

How well the Kadcyla works.

There is a clinical trial of a new HER2 drug so if Kadcyla falls through I will probably try that.

Glad that the party went well! Can you remember any gin related details?

Your consultant oncologist sounds like she is getting the job done. You sound like you are making the most of everything.

Bloody love you Zombie. I don't know how I can love a complete stranger I've never met. Wish there were something I could do.

Excellent news that you like your new oncologist. Changing consultants when you're comfortable with one can be really difficult.

We'll all be Doing a Madonna again for good results from the new scans.

Glad you had funzers ( DS's new word) at the MN party. Soooo envious. Did they have fings on sticks on the buffet? It ain't a proper buffet without fings on sticks.

Oh, I remember lots of details, YeGods.

There were about 200 people there I think - the great and the good from the worlds of media, politics and business. Meeting new MNers was fabulous. NormaStanleyFletcher is my new partner in crime. I had great fun chatting with a large number of people and meeting Justine and lots of the HQ staff. Olivia was there!!! Meeting her is one of my highlights. The champagne flowed, the canapes were brought around regularly (and yes, iklboo, the mini tuna steaks were on sticks) and the speeches were short and sweet. Once the speeches were over I have to confess that I led the dancing. Given that I could barely move this morning, that may not have been my brightest ever idea. But I LOVED it. The DJ was on my wave length. One of the official photographers seemed to take a bit of a shine to me - he must have captured dozens if not hundreds of shots of me. I'll no doubt get a blackmail demand soon.

Wow! The Party sounds soooo fab! Did you meet Boris? I bet you had a dance with him??? You can tell us all the secrets, we won't pass them on.

So glad you had a great time Zombie and it sounds like you had a ball. And I see from NSF posts that Gareth Malone was there, I would love to meet him.
Happy to see that you have a good affinity with your new oncologist, this must help you as a good trust will be built up. Lets hope that any treatments do their magic, so that we have you for many many years to come.

What sort of music was being played ? Sixties is my thing and if that's what was being played I would of joined you on the dance floor !

What were the songs that got you dancing, Zombie?
I don't like having lots of photos taken by someone I don't know (had a random tourist do that with wedding photos) so I think you were remarkably controlled to subdue the concern and enjoy your time all the more. I hope you flashed him a few of your wonderful smiles and that he got those! If he was official, perhaps MN HQ will be in touch. At least you know he's a good photographer, if that's his job! It sounds like they might all have a very blurry Zombie in them though! What a mystery.

Garath Malone was actually there? I hadn't realised there was any actual connection between him and MN. I wouldn't know what to say to him, but would have loved to have been a fly on the wall.
