The snug is now expanded and open for anywenches wanting to blether away without inflicting their ramblings on the innocent Hmm participants of Telly Addicts.

Musketeer worship is still a pre-requisite to entry of course....

You're both Mooncup experts aren't you? I don't know whether to start a thread or just ask a few questions on here hopefully Sparks doesn't notice

Fancy I like Captain James in uniform but only in the middle of Afghsn covered in dirt and wearing fatigues

Lyndie · 08/01/2015 17:01

I mean dress uniform just doesn't do it for me.

Hope ill wenches are improving.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 08/01/2015 17:24

What about moon cups, lyndie?

Lyndie · 08/01/2015 17:35

Just a couple of technical questions! And you and Fancy sounded like experts!

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 08/01/2015 17:44

go on then! It's the best thing ever but it did take me few times to get the ball rolling! not an easy ride, i'm afraid. Now can't live without it though. feel much cleaner during the day and night, it's cost effective, and lasts for hours (unless you come on very heavily).
Can't promise I will have answers to your questions though!

Baddz · 08/01/2015 17:59

Oh I couldn't get in with them at all :(
I do wonder if I got the wrong size? It was very uncomfortable.
Maybe I shouldn't have got "huge cavernous cervix" size after all?

FancyFancy · 08/01/2015 18:00

Ask away lyndie, I'm not really an expert, but have used one for years & think they're fantastic. Like drink says, they take a bit of getting used to but they have some real advantages.

FancyFancy · 08/01/2015 18:11

Oh badders that sounds horrible Sad

lyndie, fatigues are sexier, but some are so FAF they can carry off dress uniform too

Lyndie · 08/01/2015 18:27

Right well I took ages to get one, did loads of research based on size, materials, stems, firmness etc! I've followed the instructions and was surprised that I got it up ok and that I couldn't feel it so all good. I think the one I got will suit me.

Then I needed the loo. Doing my business and felt the most awful pain ever! Removed it and the pain went and continued to use the loo. Was it the pushing or pressure? Instructions say you didn't need to remove it to use the bathroom!

Instructions also say you don't need more than one!! So you use it, rinse and empty and put it straight back in? For your whole period? I saw the stuff about sterilising at the end of your period but not during at all??

Finally the first time I used it leaked a little but I don't think it had popped open properly? Then I adjusted it a bit but how do you know it's popped open?

Sorry, I know tmi!!!!!

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 08/01/2015 18:34

Poor wifey, and thanks Smile

FancyFancy · 08/01/2015 18:44

Oh God sparks is going to hate this!

I always remove mine when going to the loo (we are talking poo here aren't we?) as I find it moves otherwise & I have to re-adjust it, so for me it's just easier to remove it in the first place. I had the same problem with tampons & you can't just stick those back in Grin

I just rinse & put back during a period & sterilise in between. Never had any problems.

When it pops open you can usually feel it! The instructions say you can check whether it has popped open using your hand. Either my arms or hands aren't big enough, never managed to do this! If I can't tell, I just re-insert. Sometimes it take a few seconds to 'pop' - try shifting position maybe?

Sometimes I have minor leaks, not sure if I just haven't been careful enough inserting, but I have noticed that I get this less if I start using it at the start of my period. If I wait until I'm really flowing I will leak more, maybe the er, extra moisture prevents an effective seal?

FancyFancy · 08/01/2015 18:49

OMG Blush badders, the 'that sounds awful' comment was about your lurgy, not your cervix Shock Blush

The cervix is a capricious beast, mine went walkabout at my last smear - the nurse had a helluva time trying to find it & had to call the doctor in, who was quite a while up there too. It's never done that for previous tests. Confused

MadamedeChevreuse · 08/01/2015 19:00

drink, have you checked for your mooncup up stinkles dogs bum?

Lyndie · 08/01/2015 19:18

Thanks Fancy, that's very helpful.

Badders as I said I spent a long time researching, there are YouTube videos that help you choose but basically the Mooncup brand are quite firm and good for those with intact pelvis floors but others are softer, longer, different grooves etc. So there would probably be one out there that was right for your bits!

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 08/01/2015 19:32

Thanks, madame, that's a very realistic scenario…

I'm thinking DD must have thought it was a dirty tissue and chucked it in the bin. It was wrapped in a paper towel on my bedroom table. another £20 to spend. FMTP.

LetUsPrey · 08/01/2015 19:32

Badderz - I couldn't get on with my Mooncup either, but I figure I'm not going to be using tampons, etc for much longer so I'm not massively bothered. Sorry to hear you're feeling poorly.

And now I'd better go and see to the washing. As soon as I've watched the bit with Frozone in The Incredibles. "I am the greatest good you are ever going to get" Grin

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 08/01/2015 19:33

fancy I was once asked by the nurse to jump up and down during the smear appointment. My cervix hid sideways Hmm.

Baddz · 08/01/2015 19:57

I have a bulky uterus apparently.
And it's tilted!
All in all I'm a mess Confused

FancyFancy · 08/01/2015 20:13

Hid sideways? I didn't know that was even possible Shock

A bulky uterus - I think whoever told you that could have spun it a bit better - a uterus with sufficient room for a growing foetus to move in, with good strong walls for protection. A 5* uterus in fact. Wink

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 08/01/2015 20:29

Right someone tell me to get a grip.

DH had counselling this evening - 7pm, 45 min appointment. 10 minutes from home. It is 8.30, haven't heard a peep.

This is the man who rings me to tell me he's on his way to pret to buys sandwich at lunchtime.

Rational explanation, right?

LetUsPrey · 08/01/2015 20:34

What are the chances of the session over-running and/or it having started late?

Baddz · 08/01/2015 20:39

If it's the first session maybe there was form filling to do etc?

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 08/01/2015 20:43

I have no idea, I know they had emailed him a lot of forms which he had filled in.

Actually really worried now, panic is rising

FancyFancy · 08/01/2015 20:58

Is he generally good at keeping his phone charged? alibabs?
