Why would someone have 5 agebts for thier child? I can understand one for modelling and one for acting but 5 just for modelling seems really obsesive (says the women who spends most of the day on mumsnet!).

OP posts:
julie4travel · 17/10/2006 10:46

mrsratty - its too addictive isn't it! maybe i should ban myself from my computer although i wouldn't get much work done

julie4travel · 17/10/2006 11:02

Hi, I am new to this, but joined as I am interested in talking to some of you mums about modelling. My daughter has been offered with a few agencies, models direct, bizzykids and mi mo so far. After reading this site I think models direct are out of the question, but bit stuck between the other 2. Is any one with either of these, can you give me any info? Mi Mo sound really good, they only ask for £35 web fee and offer a free photoshoot! Sounds a bit to good to be true, after reading some of the other agency sites. Thanks

mrsratty · 17/10/2006 11:12

Mi-mo are very new so don't have the client base of the established agencies. There are so many agencies and alot of comepition you are probably better off going with a known agency. Some people like bizzykidz and some people hate them. I would try the well known agencies such as Bruce and Brown, MOT, Urban Angels and Kids London.

julie4travel · 17/10/2006 11:14

hi lila101- there is a site called www.childmodelling.net where they have some agency profiles on their with opionions from parents. one of the mums has a thread on the mimo photos and i think quite positive on it - you will need to read through. have you applied to anyone else a highly rated one called Urban angels is just opening up its books as it has a couple of intakes a year so maybe worth a try or others like mot, kids london, bruce and brown etc. Good luck in your decisions.

mrsratty - will try that site now thanks

BBWBabeLisa · 17/10/2006 11:18

mysonsmummy - have emailed a mate at DWP head office to find out which jobcentres are in the same district as Brent. I should know this off the top of my head really, as in my other life I'm one of the Performance Managers for Jobcentre Plus London Region, but I've been on Maternity for a year now, so the mind's a bit foggy. Will let you know soon as she gets back to me.

BBWBabeLisa · 17/10/2006 11:23

Julie: check Here for a list of online printing sites and a comparison of what they offer (some do red-eye reduction). HTH.

lela101 · 17/10/2006 11:24

Thank you ladies. I have applied to Bruce & Brown and MOT but refused by both wrong area and to many girls her age. I acnt believe I was nearly drawn in by Models Direct, my husband sussed them but I was willing to pay. So glad I found this site. You just don't know whos conning and whos not. I have looked at the other threads and seems to be a few good comments about Mi Mo, might try them first just to get into it.

BBWBabeLisa · 17/10/2006 11:25

Doh, ignore that, just noticed they're all US sites. Will have another look!

BBWBabeLisa · 17/10/2006 11:26

Ok, here we go, Truprint offer red-eye reduction tool.
