mimi1uk · 17/10/2006 11:33

hi guys i have a john lewis toy guide throught the post today, whos little un is it in it, its lovley!!

mrsratty · 17/10/2006 11:33

She's at qan age where there is not a great amount of work around as 2 year olds are generally quite hard to work with. I have heard people say positive things about Mimo as they like the free photos but I haven't heard of people getting work through them.

Thanks mrsratty, do you know much about bizzykids, I am a little lothed to pau out bigger sums of money yet, until I know she will like it, maybe after one or two jobs I will be happy to spend more money. Which agency are you with, I have applied to Scallywags but recieved no reply, (think they charge a lot though).

mimi1uk · 17/10/2006 11:42

i thought it was her, they are lovely,, nice to see i am recognising her, now, do u need anymore copies of it ??/ X

julie4travel · 17/10/2006 11:49

thanks bbwbabe- just going to try them

mrsratty i tried the snapfish one and somehow having blonde moments could get some eyes back to norm yet i was turning one of my eyes green!

lela101- i was with sw last year who have a lot of children on their books. the fees have increased this year so we changed agency. before shelling out on lots of money how about trying some of the cheap pixie photos etc in woolworths etc to see how the little one is with photos. it would be awful to pay out and then decide its not for your child. there is a good book called something like the acting and modelling guide which gives a good insite into child modelling. i brought it from amazon and was a good buy. Good luck.

mrsratty · 17/10/2006 11:51

Thanks mimi, I live less than 10 minutes walk away from one so have plenty! DD2 keeps looking at them and pointing out what she wants for christmas.

lela101 - I've never met anyone from BK at castings so I can't really comment.
My daugher is 5 and bruce and brown

hi julie4travel, thanks for the info. T is a little poser, she is like a little doll, and really photogenic (everyone says that i suppose). I just don't know how she would be in a photoshoot, not sure how they work. She has had prof pics done at home and loved it. i though if I went with Mi Mo andgot the shoot done and maybe one or two jobs it would give me and her an idea of how she will be. I am just worried about being conned, it seems so many are just out for your money!!!!!

julie4travel · 17/10/2006 12:06

lela101- we had 1 job from sw in a year which didn't really pay back the fees we paid out to join! shop around for the right agency- mimo could be good for you. I personally cant advise as i dont know them yet you could message the person on cm net to see if she has had any work yet etc

bk is a touchy subject on here you could be lucky with work ? some do get work yet others dont

what about alphabet kids they could be worth a try? go through the profiles on cm net and see which appeal to what you are looking for

Good luck

PS I took months deciding for my kids!

lela101 · 17/10/2006 12:12

Thanks I will give that a try.

Its a bit of a nightmare, but think it will be worth it in the end!!

ellesmum · 17/10/2006 12:22

its still all going on on cmnet!!

lela101 - i would definatly try the smaller agencies like b and b and kids london before paying anything to go with other agencies.

that way if you decide your dd isnt ready for modelling you wouldnt have lost any money.

my dd is 2 years old, she has been with kids london for 3 months and had 2 castings and 3 jobs, i also didnt have to pay anything to join.

good luck with your decisions!

Ragamuffin · 17/10/2006 12:29

lela101......I think julie's advice is very sound. Take your time deceiding!!!!

Too many people rush into the first thing offered and regret it later.......and I speak for myself too. Try the top agencies who do not charge high fees ie Urban Angels, Kids London, MOT and Bruce and Brown. If you get a no from all of these, then only move to the others, if you are prepared to pay large start-up costs usually in excess of £120. I then suggest agencies like Scalliwags, Rascals, Elisabeth Smith and Norrie Carr. Good Luck in your deceision.

julie4travel · 17/10/2006 12:37

lela101- my dd starts with truly scrumptious in Jan their fees are higher at £170 yet i have heard good things about them and they seem to get a lot of work. Unfortately i had to pay a higher fee as the lower fee ones wouldn't take her on. My dd is three so like you I am giving her a try to see how she goes. Sometimes their is the odd unpaid job on star now which could be of interest to you. I took her for a casting and she was really good doing what the phoographer wanted etc. It was a good experience for her. She didn't get the job yet i am glad she was tried out prior to her starting with an agent. Membership on that sites about £15 for three months - thats what i did. I would say dont start the membership until you see a job or two which appeals to apply to. We have had our moneys worth since joining.

ellismum- how did the ts photoshoot go on sun? we have ours this sun so just wondered how yours went

Quadrofiendia · 17/10/2006 12:39

I am going to stop arguing now, its driving me nuts arrgghh
madeline is off school poorly and i clearly have too much time on my hands
Hope everyone is having a good day

julie4travel · 17/10/2006 12:44

forgot to say i have a tamagotchi that keeps beeping at me since he got it on sun- i do hope it doesn't die before he is home from school as i haven't a clue what to do on it! why did he leve me babysitting it! ha ha

Quadrofiendia · 17/10/2006 12:46

you can pause it, press the middle and right or left button together not sure which, bloody hate the things they always die on me!

lanismum · 17/10/2006 12:47

aw quads, its a shame to give up now, you are clearly irritating them loads ahem, that is childish

hope madeline is better soon, my lovely gentle baby girl has turned into a screamy whingy violent brat as cyans ds found out to his cost on sunday, she kept smacking him as he tried to kiss her, and laughing, evil little toad wonder if she realises she will have to share her mum and dad with a new baby in a few months time?
have to take her with me to a tattoo shop in a min, am dreading it, im just thinking of the havok she could cause.......

lanismum · 17/10/2006 12:48

btw am not getting a tattoo, just getting dp a top from there, just before anyone thinks im crazy for taking a toddler with me to get tattoed!

julie4travel · 17/10/2006 12:50

lanismum- ha ha i did think for a min you were getting one done

Quadrofiendia · 17/10/2006 12:52

Lani sounds funny, she will be cool with the baby, she'll probably want to poke and prod alot but I tend to find aslong as its not harming the baby to let them do it, its just satisfying curiosity!!!
Thread has been deleted on Cm net think its do with not wanting to upset UA which is cool with me x

Quadrofiendia · 17/10/2006 12:53

I thought she was
