We are getting to the 1000 limit so I thought I would start a new happy thread!

OP posts:
ellesmum · 18/10/2006 16:18

how old is your lo tinkerbel5?

Tinkerbel5 · 18/10/2006 16:20

I forgot to ask what its for, too busy writing adress down and DD getting excited in the background lol

Tinkerbel5 · 18/10/2006 16:21

DD is 5, well 5.5 now, she has been asking me when is she going to work again so im happy she has this job.

lolalou · 18/10/2006 16:32

No - guess I'll get a better feel of what they're about when we meet - websites don't give much away - and there doesn't seem to be anyone on this thread that is with Childsplay or Rascals to help!

Lolly68 · 18/10/2006 17:04

LolaLou - Childsplay are quite good I think but have never met anyone that is actually with them. All I know is that they charge very high fees to join even more than ES, SW and TS and I cant comment on Rascals although i know a little boy from that agency done the Cow&Gate job. Cant really tell much else. There is no need to tell them about each other. Have you applied to B&B or KidsLondon. They are very good agencies and dont charge high fees.

Lolly68 · 18/10/2006 17:06

Quad - oooh nits?!! I never had to contend with any of that with my son but I'm sure it will happen with Lydia in the not so distant future!! Do you remember nit nurses at school when we were little - bring them back that's what I say!

ellismummy · 18/10/2006 17:08

Well done tink, ellesmum and mrsratty, that was spooky, I sometimes wonder if anyone from any agencies read these forums!

cyan · 18/10/2006 17:17

Congrats on all the jobs and castings.

Quad> what happened the other night on cm net am totally confused, can keep up with this anymore!!!

Had to take ds to the hospital this morning as his asthma is bad, poor little mite has a chest and ear infection and has had the past 3 days off nursery. Yummy> not sure about fri now will see how ds is as he is poorly bless him.

Hope all is well ciao

ellesmum · 18/10/2006 17:40

ragga - just been into town and had a look at the whsmith christmas mag, your dd looks lovely! you must be so happy she made front cover!

lolalou · 18/10/2006 18:02

thanks Lolly
Do you think the fact that you've never met anyone who is with them is worrying?

Ragamuffin · 18/10/2006 18:38

Lolly.....There were 3 kids in the recent Woolworths Christmas TV Commercial from Childs Play. However, I can also say that I have never met anyone from this agency. Rascals do also get a lot of work. We were previously with them. They are very expensive though to join and this fee is an annual one. Your assessment with them will consist of telling you about child modelling and what their costs will be. If your child is old enough they will take him/her into a seperate room and chat to them on their own to ensure they are confident enough to do this. Good Luck!

lolalou · 18/10/2006 19:38

Hi raga
Thanks for the info - feel a little more reaasured. can you tell me anymore about rascals pls? Did you get a lot of work from them? Have they got loads of kids on the books. My DD is 3. Any inside info would be helpful
thanks

julie4travel · 18/10/2006 19:46

lolalou- regarding assesments they vary from agent to agent. I have done a couple. SW who we were initially with did a small group assesment of 5 kids plus parents and they spoke to us then did some photos of the kids to see how they react infront of the camera. B and B was a one on one appointment, NC was a one on one appointment, TS was a group one of about 10 parents plus kiddies. It was more like a creche if i admit. The kids were off playing and they only briefly looked up close to the kids. Basically they said all the kids invited to assesment had been selected yet they wanted to check on the day there was no birthmarks on the face etc which didn't come up on the pictures. I prefer the one on one appointments. We also did a cs appointment and the owner mainly talked to us in a room to check the confidence of the child - he had recited a poem although he didn't need to say one. did you ask if the assesments were group ones or one on ones? on most of these they asked the kids hobbies etc, do they want to do photos etc to check it wasn't something the parents were pushing them into

well done to you guys on the junior jobs. i have never seen a copy of this mag is it in all the shops or mail order only - will need to have a nose at one one day so i know what its all about.

Ragamuffin · 18/10/2006 20:05

Loulou.....After recent problems on this site I would only be prepared to discuss any agency in private. If you would like to give me an e-mail address I will go into more detail.

julie4travel · 18/10/2006 20:10

raga- totally agree its hard to say anything on here nowadays!

Ragamuffin · 18/10/2006 20:11

ellesmum and mrsratty amd tinkerbell5........A huge big Well Done on getting the jobs for Junior for tomorrow. Tinkerbell, hope your DD's pics get used this time! Have fun all of you and we will be waiting to hear your news later tomorrow.

julie4travel........cannot believe you have never see a Junior Mag????!!!!!!! This is only THE BEST children's fashion mag in this country! Do yourself a favour and buy a copy. Can get at most news agents, supermarket etc. But they usually sell out quite quickly.
