Morning all,
Thanks Dylas it won't be long until you see your son all over the place it is a very nice feeling. I've still not seen the Halloween pictures in store though.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that things will pick up for school children this week as it would be nice to get a job.
Good luck for Soho Julie, do you know what it's for?

LisaBeee · 25/09/2006 12:49

Hi, I'm new to Mumsnet, so hope I have come to the relevant message area...
My 4 months old daughter has been provisionally accepted onto the books of Bizzy Kidz and also Little Acorns - Does anyone have any advice as to which one I should go with?

Tinkerbel5 · 25/09/2006 12:57

Hello Lisa, not sure on either of the agencies, but you could have a look on www.childmodelling.net for any tips

sha11 · 25/09/2006 13:02

lisa dont go for la look at their site its crazy theres so many kids and bk well theres a whole load of info on them???? try applying to a few others

sha11 · 25/09/2006 13:03

the soho shoot was for a stop smoking campaign

mrsratty · 25/09/2006 13:05

Don't go for little acorns never known any one to get any work. BK get work but people have very different views on them.

LisaBeee · 25/09/2006 13:25

Hi Gals, thank u all for the response...

Just off to Minimusic with 2 yr old (well, it;s a nice change from watching CBBC repeats with him!), will check out child modelling site on my return

educatingrita · 25/09/2006 13:45

I wuld echo the advice given so far, wouldnt recommend either of those 2 agencies personally.

Have you tried any of the more established ones ie MOT, Urban Angels, Kids London or Bruce and Brown?
Check out the list on cm.net for more on each agency.
Good luck!

shall - sorry only just got back from the casting. I was a bit silly I went there not thinking it was a fully proper casting, my dd was brilliant yet when she went in she still had her jacket on when they were rattling off all these photos. She enjoyed it. I wish I had dressed her better as it was raining etc I dressed her in jeans and a top and her hair (yet again) could have been re done before we got there! They didn't keep us waiting though and the photographer was really good and worked with her. Fingers crossed. If she doesn't get it I recon it will be more down to her hair (my fault should have been more prepared)

shall - did you go for the casting?

lindac · 25/09/2006 14:03

julie4ttravel> im sure if they want her they will see past her hair as it can be done how they want it if she gets called back, good luck, did yo hear anything on your cm shoot pic's yet ?

you seem to be doing well on the starnow site

julie4travel · 25/09/2006 14:08

thanks lindic - think i have had my moneys worth from star now. That one only came on sat morning and i was hesistant about sending it knowing the casting was today. The other promotional one for 0 - 5s on their where you email the photos over for them to use for marketing i think they are using the photos too. I want to see what type of images are created after as i will get a copy if used

no news on cm photos either! isabel is on holiday so I guess thats the delay, she did put on an email to me not all the photos are back yet, knowing my luck my dds have not turned out!

My dd is now flat out asleep and normally i dont let her in the daytime. I think London has worn her out as she isn't used to walking so far!

i went for the casting the photogarpher was really friendly, took about 5-10 mins i was home within 2 hours so that was good, how much did it cost all the way from cambridgeshire, julie. Why do they need 3 yr old kids for a stop smoking campaign?? did u see the signing in sheet it had rage, ugly, scallywags and starnow people on it.

julie4travel · 25/09/2006 14:29

shall- £17.90 return! Yet my ds last casting all in all cost me £50 to get their! I just want a nice job to pay back all that we have spent out. I will be happy with just 1 commerical or something in print. my ds did still photos last year and that was with no casting. the photos was of his eyes hands and belly buttons so i went their expecting the same sort of thing. Was yours through star now or via your agent? did you have any more info apart from a stop smoking campaign? which aged kiddie of yours did it?

OP posts:
sha11 · 25/09/2006 14:46

actually it was me!!! ds is only 14 months although the photographer was keen to take pics of him as well but he was asleep in his pushchair. he said something like theres another casting on thursday but again for over 3's
£17.00 not bad! we used to live in cambridge a few years ago.

julie4travel · 25/09/2006 14:52

shall- i got a discount with my family railcard. i only have one membership with star now and just applied for her. should have tried for me to and double up it if i am there anyway. i guess we will find out soon if we have got it or not!

OP posts:
sha11 · 25/09/2006 14:56

when do we find out, by phone or starnow?

mythumbelinas · 25/09/2006 15:08

Ellismummy, i agree to try for UA in Nov first, because they cost much less, but i've heard good things about TS too. Good luck

Marymay, lots of luck looking for ds halloween pic I found it very hard to spot my dd's pics, and even when i did they wouldn't let me have them .. if they let you have a pic, please let me know!! They are mean

julie4travel · 25/09/2006 15:10

shall- i guess by phone or they could email all people who are unsuccessful its hard to know? did you find out any other info on it?

OP posts:
sha11 · 25/09/2006 15:48

no nothing else! dont you think they should have asked for smokers? i've never smoked so would look silly advertising stop smoking iykwim

sha11 · 25/09/2006 15:49

mythumbs and marymay which pics do u want i'll get them for you.

mythumbelinas · 25/09/2006 16:26

sha11, thanks so much, can you really?? i think it may be too late for dd's pics, they were up in spring and summer. There was two of her in the store window, but they had other kids and were huge floor to ceiling pics. Another of her wearing red striped top, but it was pasted to the wall, and another i was told about but i never saw.

marymay · 25/09/2006 17:28

hi sha11..can you!that would be great.dont think my ds are out yet .he did the halloween advertising he was dressed in a skeletons outfit with a black hood on . if i remember rightly you can just see his blonde hair sticking out.i would be really grateful if you can get anything.

yummymummy..i think i read you did the littlewoods shoot today.can i ask how it went .as ds is going tomorrow .just nice to know what the people are like. thanks

cyan · 25/09/2006 18:30

hi all ds did the george job earlier. his grandparents took him and they said that he had to wait 2 hours before his pics were done adn by that point he was really tired. dnt think the shoot was a success for him bless.

had a phonecall this afternoon for something tomorrow but when i returned the call it was too late, nevermind at least it seems things are picking up for him again.

kerryarron · 25/09/2006 19:34

cyan, how old is your ds, and which agency is he with?
