right i have emailed alba to ask to check the competition is legit! will post when i get a reply. I dont think that they cant refer to being under the supervision of alba model unless its genuine!

julie me too, but i also think its a chance in a life time, and not all who applyed got picked there are sone on napm who didnt get picked

mimi - yes i have yet they dont officailly confirm it until sponsor info received. can iyou remind me your email as i lost it from months ago when my lap tops motherboard crashed! that was the email originally with your little boys pictures on it.

its a trek for us going up there yet i have booked into the hotel its being held at. Liverpool are playing so rooms are more limited to normal!

right logging off now night everyone will post you the reply tommorow. If all else fails i will ring alba model and they can earn from my phonecall!

mimi- not sure if mine was an travel agents rate or not yet i had to book a double for £80, i couldn't get a triple so we are bedsharing for the night - lucky he is young!

hi i have a message back from alba ill show you all

ALBA is the indsutry watchdog and we confirm that we are overseeing this event.

Pageants are by Law permitted to run competitions and request an entry fee this practice has been permitted since the 1950s. This pageant is bona fide. Every year the event organisers run this competition with big prize funds and all previous winners have received their prizes.

More that 3000 applications were received this year and the entrants have been shortlisted to only 30 finalists. No sponosrship fee is requested from the applicants just the finalists.

This is a well organised event, and we believe that the sponsorship request is very reasonable considering that some other pageants require £650 sponsorhip per finalist and have more that 60 finalists per category.

We note that sponsors are being offered good advertising opportunities plus tickets to the event and that the entrant and family are being given tickets to the event plus other bonuses for the finalists and family members attending ( refreshments at lunch and dinner), as such we believe this is very good value for a pageant event which is why we recommend this and not some of the others that run in the UK.

I hope that this reassures you.

Please note that it is not compulsory for you to go on through to the next heat of the competition if you do not feel happy with this event.

Hello i sent pic's od my 11 year old dd yest to miss britishilsles and got a reply today saying she had made it through ! i didnt expect that and now i dont know what to do , she needs and evening ballgown ! im thinking how much is this all going to cost me, and i will need to talk dh around aswell!
Julie are you going, who else is going ?
how are you all going to get sponsors ?advise/encouragement needed please x

hello everyone, just had an email back from british isles comp saying to confirm elle's d.o.b, where she lives etc and to send some more pics in of her if i can. what do u think this means????????????? did they do that to any of u????????????
