would have loved 2 come to the meet up today but dd was in hospital last night with an extremly high temp , hope u all have a nice day, will prob meet u all next time.

Tinkerbel5 · 17/09/2006 14:45

thats a shame ellesmum, how is elle today ?

DD had that hight temperature a couple of months ago and she was hallucinating through it , GP advised to take her to out of hours doctors at the hosiptal and they gave her antibiotics, apparently it was cause by an ear infection.

ellesmum · 17/09/2006 15:15

thanks tink, shes still pretty poorly today, shes been compalaining of her back gums hurting so its prob a tooth coming through at the back, it was so worring as they said she could have a fit at any moment her temp was that high, and she couldnt hold any calpul down either didnt realise back teeth coming through would be this bad!

sha11 · 17/09/2006 17:30

Hi, we went to the c.m shoot it was ok my ds wouldn't smile for the photographer, was screaming. It was an experience at least, the garden was a bit of a mess - I think if they had asked any of us could have volunteered our gardens or used a central london park, dont think theres any rules against that!! Met Isable finally she was really nice.

Yacketyyack - Which Mothercare did you see DD in, my mum when to the one in Brebtcross today and it wasn't there

Ellesmum - Sorry to hear Elle is so unwell. My yougest spend the first 2 years of her life with a temp and vomiting, well every 2 weeks at least! Thankfully she has grown out of it. I really hope she's better soon, it's such a woory.

ellesmum · 17/09/2006 18:33

thanks marrarty - hopefully she will be better soon , what is your dd wearing in the mothercare pic? ive got mothercare near me will see if its in there 4 u and let u know.

mrratty · 17/09/2006 18:53

ellesmum - she's wearing a withches outfit and looking to the side. I have the picture as I got it from their press site but it would be really nice to see it in the shop.

littlemadam · 17/09/2006 18:59

Christabel, we generally go to London, not too much of a hardship, the train is just over 2hrs and we have been to lots of places, and several of the museums. Clients generally are happy for us to arrive about 11 or later, so not too early a start.
I think there is work in the North, mostly in Manchester though?? There are a few mums on here who work up that way, phoenix and trace2 for starters.
We have quite a few friends in London, so have stayed over a couple of times.

How did the meet up go, sorry to have missed it, spent the day at a hill climb, the boys loved it, and was in the most beautiful countryside, so DD had a run round, hoping for early sleep tonight

ellesmum · 17/09/2006 19:28

ok marraty will look for her in my local mothercare and let u know

julie4travel · 17/09/2006 19:52

ellesmum- hope dd is better soon

sha11- shame i missed you. Literally we must have only just missed each other. my dd was first to be photoed. Photographer didn't turn up till at least and an hour and quarter late and my dd had about had enough by then.

i honestly thought i had gone to the wrong place when i first arrived. front door open no answer a bit of a smell at the front! after getting a train at 7.23 (with a bit of a hangover!) i thought the garden was small and have seen a lot better ones yet hopefully the photos will be good.
Isabel was lovely

i have decided i dont think i will take the kids to any more unpaid stuff even though his film was great as it seems more hassle than its worth and all in all with the cancelled shoot date i sppent £40 in train tickets. Think i will leave it to the agents now for paid work only!

Good luck with any castings this week

dylansluckymum · 17/09/2006 19:55

hi all hope the meetup went well. sad to have missed it but i must say it was nice to just hang out at home and do nothing! well, sort of nothing, the debbie bliss shoot has inspired me to take up knitting and i'm now a third through my first baby scarf! i had a heck of a time getting started but with the help of a couple google videos i'm on a roll now.

ellesmum so sorry to hear elle is unwell it's horrible when you just want to make them feel better and there's nothing you can do. hope the teeth come in soon and she can get back to herself.

mrratty i should be on oxford street this week if i am i'll look out for your dd and take a pic.

enjoy your sunday evening ladies, i'm back to my knitting!!!

elle31 · 17/09/2006 20:16

Here finally is a pic of my d

billie

lanismum · 17/09/2006 20:18

hiya! was lovely meeting some of you for the first time today, gambado is a lovely place, all the kids seemed to really enjoy themselves, even though a few of us had an awful time getting there! next time we will have to check chelsea are not playing at home! anyway after an awful journey there and a few incidents of road rage, we made it home in about 35 mins, no traffic at all.
sorry not to have met those that couldnt make it today, maybe next time, ellesmum, so sorry elle is so poorly, hope she starts to feel better soon.

ellesmum · 17/09/2006 20:23

elles mum

Thanks shes with kl

mrratty · 17/09/2006 20:41

elle31 - your daughters hair is lovely and she looks great, how old is she?

princessmel · 17/09/2006 20:45

Hi everyone,
We had a great time at the meet up today. The journey into London was awful but Gamado was so nice that we didn't mind in the end. Both the kids and Dh loved it! The posh parking right in front was good too. Not too bad traffic wise on the way home. Kids both fell asleep pretty quickly.
It was funny to meet real life mumsnetters. I now know what YummyMummy, Lanismum, Pimms, Tigeryun, Isabel(cm.net)
and Cyan look like!! All normal mums

princessmel · 17/09/2006 20:50

Ellesmum, I hope elle gets better soon. Teething can be so awful for them. Have you managed to get her to take any medicine now?

Its a shame you couldn't come today. Next time hopefully I'll meet you and Yackerty and Julie4 and Quad and Mrratty and Thorntons and Madam, BBwbabe, Dylansmum, thumbs, housemum, Tavalana, sha11, ragga, tink and everyone else!!!!!!

ellesmum · 17/09/2006 20:51

elle31 - my dds with kids london 2! how long has she been with kl? my dds been with them for about 6 weeks now. my dd is star of the week on cm net if u want 2 see her! ellemae!

yackertyyack · 17/09/2006 20:53

WELL I am gutted, stressed, frazzled, knackered and didn't even get too meet anyone!! We had a nightmare today and had to abandon trying to get to the meet-up half way there. Its a long very stressed story which involves train engineer works, forgotton directions and 2 screaming babies...add to that no-ones mobile number!! Breathe! Will explain more when I am not so stressed with myself!

Mrratty - Saw your dd's pic in mothercare world in romford, its one of their flagships stores so has everything!! If you don't get to see it let me know and i will go in an get a copy for you. It was funny as they had copies of the old catalogue and DH was showing them DS's pic!!

Elle31 - glad your pic finally worked....your little girl is really cute, am sure she will get her first job soon, how old is she??

LANIS - hope you are feeling ok!

ellesmum · 17/09/2006 20:56

princess - yes would be nice 2 meet the rest of u, ive met isabel twice and now dylansmum so would be nice to put a face 2 name with the rest of the mumsnetters!! and yes managed to get some calpol down dd she now fast asleep.

PhoenixGirl · 17/09/2006 21:01

I'll put my ds on again in case anyone didn't see him. (and i like showing him off )

Lewis

SamsMumLou · 17/09/2006 21:19

Phoenix Girl - sorry for late reply my ds has just come out of hospital - nothing serious he has problems every so often withi his breathing so had to go for a nebuliser. Think he thinks the LGI is his 2nd home!

I haven;t been asked to go but they asked me for more pictures of my ds - i have asked then for an update of any castings (I am very new to this) as had seen you ask others about what happens at a casting. Was hoping my ds would be invited but not heard anything.
