hi

OP posts:
princessmel · 12/09/2006 21:13

I'd love to do that but I'd have to convince my dh. He hates going into central london on weekends! He's so miserable!. I bet it would be really busy though. Loads of queues don't you think? Or would they give you a time to come back.?
Ellesmum I can see your pretty Ellemae on cm.net now. It was last weeks winner up untill this afternoon. She looks older than 2 to me. Must be the long hair. She's lucky to have it so long, this young. Some kids still have hardly any hair at 2!

Quadrophenia · 12/09/2006 21:15

mrratty i did get your email, dp had opened it and not told me! Can't find Maddy's picture but she got paid yesterday so its no biggie. They messed us about loads with that particular shoot, kept changing which twin they wanted and when, cancelled one day and then rang to see where we were, so not suprised to be honest. Picture of your dd is lovely!
I think things do quiet about now for school children, mainly because even if the schools are okay its probably not okay asa parent to keep taking them out, it makes me feel very uncomfortable, despite my schools backing. I think it gives the wrong impression to children of what the education system is about. Many parents at shoots I have been to, feel very much the same, so it must make it difficult to do shoots in term time particulalry at the beginning of term.

ellesmum · 12/09/2006 21:19

thanks princess sorry about all the confusun eairlier!!!!!

i would take my elle along but shes not 3 yet so prob woulldnt be able to take part, plus shes already with kids.

i would imagine loads of people would turn up for it but it is going on all day so might not be 2 bad. and getting the pic emailed to u id great!

dylansmum - isabel has emailed me to say the shoot is going to be in wandsworth. which is down the road from whrer i live.

dylansluckymum · 12/09/2006 21:24

ellesmum, isabel emailed me as well and asked if 2pm was good for me... or if i would prefer am. when are you and elle going?

mrratty · 12/09/2006 21:35

Quad did your DD get paid more than the normal rate for that day or more, my DD hasn't been paid yet but I guess she will next month.

mrratty · 12/09/2006 21:38

The Bunny London comp sounds good though I don't think I could be bothered to go into london for it incase it's really busy!
Dylans - Your boy is really lucky with all the work he's getting!

Quadrophenia · 12/09/2006 21:40

we were only there a couple fo hours so got an hourly rate plus over 60 quid in travel, normally if a job goes over say five hours you get a day rate which is normally about £300

Quadrophenia · 12/09/2006 21:42

why next month Mr ratty?

mrratty · 12/09/2006 21:44

B&B pay monthly. MC owe me over £100 in travel expenses is that what you got the extra for or did they just pay extra for travelling time?

Quadrophenia · 12/09/2006 21:47

thats crafty it means they are gaining interest on your money
nope thats travel expenses never been paid for travelling before, although on Monday a taxi is picking us up which must cost the companies a small fortune!

mrratty · 12/09/2006 21:53

What you doing on Monday?
I think UA are the best at paying out as they pay weekly, some pay monthly like B&B, some pay quarterly which O thought KL did until a mother who had children with them said that they payout when you have recieved a reasonable sum of money. Her children had to wait over a year to be paid for a commercial!!!!

dylansluckymum · 12/09/2006 21:55

thanks mrratty i thought it seemed like he was getting a lot but of course i have nothing to compare to so i wasn't too sure!

by keeping the kids' money until it's a 'reasonable sum' they must make quite a bit on interest i would think! bit cheeky really.

ellesmum · 12/09/2006 21:55

dylansmum - isabel didnt give me a time she said she would give me the time tomorrow, but i can make it anytime in the day really as its only down the road from me i dont mind. will let u know when they tell me. ive also asked if we will still be having dylans and elles pics done togrther, will let u know when she gets back 2 me!

just wanted to say well done with all the work that dylans got hes doing really well bet your so proud!

Quadrophenia · 12/09/2006 21:56

We don't even get paid weekly, it comes in, we get it, simple as that, find the concept of quartely very wierd,a nd the thought of waiting a year well i would certainly have something to say about that! Girls are back up for ambi pur on monday off to middlesex

mrratty · 12/09/2006 22:01

Excellent glad to hear they got it!!! Is this the first time they have done commercial work?

Quadrophenia · 12/09/2006 22:03

Thankyou, they did a vodafone ad in march which was pretty cool but it has been mainly photographic work

dylansluckymum · 12/09/2006 22:07

quad was that advert aired? that would be very cool i hope ds gets to do something like that! how old are your twins? are they usually used together or individually? i must say one of my biggest fears when got pregnant was that it would be twins!!

Quadrophenia · 12/09/2006 22:14

yes it was aired lots!!! they are 6 and mainly used seperately, but have done a few things together, not as many as i thought they would tbh!
Having twins is dead cool, although i'm sure my rose tinted spectacles are firmly glued to my face!

dylansluckymum · 12/09/2006 22:18

i can definitely see how it would be amazing! but still a bit scary at times. i hope they do well on monday and enjoy it!!

Quadrophenia · 12/09/2006 22:19

it was even scarier when they were six months old and i found out i was pregnant!

dylansluckymum · 12/09/2006 22:24

OMG you can't be serious! well i must say i'm duly impressed. i can barely cope with 1!!! well you certainly didn't have a baby shortage for quite a while. i can't even imagine what the laundry must have been like.

Quadrophenia · 12/09/2006 22:28

It was easier then than it is now, much easier!! I've never had one so have no idea of what thats like but 3 15 months and younger was certainly an experience! when ds2 was born I had four under 3!! just call me superwoman, or the more apt term, deranged basket case!!

dylansluckymum · 12/09/2006 22:35

wow mildly insane but i can definitely respect that. you must have it down to a science now (as much as that's possible with kids!).

Quadrophenia · 12/09/2006 22:38

no its got worse!! Don't ever let anyone say it gets easier, i can handle babies/toddlers but 3 + and i'm clambering around like an idiot!!

dylansluckymum · 12/09/2006 22:43

thanks for the warning i'll try to remember that the next time i start getting broody. isn't it funny though how your brain conveniently forgets how rough pregnancy & labour are to trick you into having more??!?! ah well at least you end up with some gorgeous children out of the whole deal...

off to bed now if i can drag dp off his game!
