Zombie's journey with breast cancer

As most of you know, I'm having my second mastectomy on Thursday. I will almost certainly need to have more chemotherapy.

This is my thread for those who wish to walk beside me on my journey.

Afternoon.

After a fairly good night's sleep (courtesy of ibuprofen and co-codamol) I'm a bit more human today.

I went to the Breast Clinic this morning and had Serena drained - 70ml this week. Mr. Dube and I agreed that my risk of infection will be too great next week so she will be ignored until 4th July.

Sally and I then did a Sainsburys shop which should feed me for at least 10 days.

Now back home. Still achy. Energy better than yesterday although I've used most of it up. Mouth is improving.

I think I feel a nap coming on as soon as I've put a loaf of bread on to bake.

sounds like a good day - fresh bread is such a symbol of hope and positivity to me, I'm sure it cheered you up!Smile

have I said we moved 4 weeks ago? the kitchen and I are not good friends yet, so I haven't baked yet but I really should.
fresh bread - mmmmm... I think I might be motivated enough this weekend! Wink

Hello zombie

The thought of fresh bread made me drool, I'm so over the sweet crap that they market here in Korea as 'English breakfast bread' it's awful! I can't remember the last time I had a decent sandwich Sad

I'm packing up for the trip back to the uk to see mum Smile and then we are relocating again...it's all go here!

I could do with a few pj days myself Wink

Hope the mouth is improving and you are over the worst that this round of treatment can throw at you.

Hi Zombie, hope you slept well last night and that you are able to enjoy the sunshine today. Seems like the fluid is diminishing for you, which has to be good. Glad to see your mouth is improving and you don't feel too knackered by your dose of chemo. Does your friend have to go home this weekend to return when you have your next treatment ?

Hi all zombiettes. Unfortunately poor Zomb is havibg to stay in hospital as her bloods have plummeted. Shes on IV antibiotics and g-csf to stimulate bone marrow Sad

So sorry to hear about this setback, but hope you are resting and relaxing as much as you can.

Glad that you are being cared for, and sure you will soon be home.
