cyan - OMG I didn't realize it was already up I was told 16th August. It's such a shame I don't have one near us. Is it the same pic as the catalouge. I'm going to have to go to Brent Cross this afternoon!!!!!!!

marymay........LOL!!!! Know what you mean. My daughter would have sold her sould for a Girl Talk job too! Luckily she hasn't had to. Just so excited that she will make a cover too!!!!!!

yackerty....well done on getting dd into KL too. It's always best to have siblings at same agency. Mine get called for a lot of castings together and do a lot of jobs as a sbling pair.

mrratty......WOW!!! A window display of your daughter's pic on Oxford Street. That's impressive. Wish I was running up to London soon to see it. Unfortunately off on 2 week holiday so may not see it now.

julie4travel · 11/08/2006 09:07

mrratty that would be superb to have her on all the windows in Mothercare. Is she the only child being used or with others (I am going to have a nose at my local one)

Princessmel- some drs surgerys are a right pain I am so glad I changed when I moved. I even asked them the question of the cost of the licence prior to joining and they said £10 which I don't mind paying (even though I got round it in the end!)

Good luck with any jobs or castings by the way

dylansluckymum- some members know each other from castings etc and some are friends. I live in Cambridgeshire so don't really know anyone on here, although I met Strawberry at a cs shoot who is lovely. When you get a casting or job put it on here as you may find someone else is going to the same job, its nice to put a picture to someone!

mrratty · 11/08/2006 09:14

I assume it's the picture which is on the website and catalouge cover where she is with one boy. There were supposed to be four children that day, one girl got stuck in traffic and another boy got bad hayfever while we were there!

hello!

mrratty> its the catalogue pic with the little boy. it is really impressive as the windows are massive and it feels the whole of the left side! wished id had my camera on me I would have snapped it for you!!!!!

we are off to brent x later too!!!

cyan · 11/08/2006 09:18

sorry fills the whole lefts side!!!

mrratty · 11/08/2006 09:26

If you see someone at about 4 o'clock standing outside mothercare with a huge grin on her face taking pictures that'll be me. Thanks so much for letting me know. I have to take DD to a party this morning and then we are going to Grandmas, then I will finally be able to go to Brent Cross. I also have to get DP a birthday present - no idea what to get.

kimjl · 11/08/2006 11:21

hello, thank you everybody for the help yesterday. I still have a few questions:
What does AK stand for?
Also do you know how long do the agencies take to reply to an application?

ellesmum · 11/08/2006 11:29

AK stands for alpherbet kids which is a modelling agency.

it depends on the agency how long they take to get back to u it can range from a few days to maybe a month or more, as they have 100s of applications to sort through.

kimjl · 11/08/2006 11:41

ellesmum - thank you, i will look for Alphabet Kidz.
I know the agencies must receive 100s of applications everyday but hope they get back to us quickly. Elisabeth Smith was almost instant, I think we're going to the interview to see what it is like.

Is anybody's child/ren with Elisabeth Smith?

ellesmum · 11/08/2006 12:06

ES is a vey old but good agency, iv heard they have alot of children on their books which can make internal compertition quite high. it is defnitly worth going to the interview though as they are a well known agency, there fees are extremely high though.
good luck anyway im sure the agencies will get back to u fairly quickley.

ellesmum · 11/08/2006 12:08

if u go to childmodelling.net they have a list of the best agencies and their websites, it is very helpful and u might find people on their who have their kids with ES.

dylansluckymum · 11/08/2006 12:12

mrratty you must be so proud, congrats. i got goosebumps reading about it being so huge in the window!!!

thanks julie i'll make sure i post when and if we get a call, i'll probably be very nervous and have loads of questions anyway!

julie4travel · 11/08/2006 13:23

kimjl- MOT seem very quick to reply. they did for my kids unfortuately it was a no-

B and b take ages! they were three weeks all in all. i just rattled through the list to see what ones would accept my kids and went from there with the best of what options I had.Good luck in who you decide to go with

dylansluckymum · 11/08/2006 15:21

i'm so excited i just went and opened a savings account for ds (my dp keeps making jokes about how it's about time he started pulling his weight around here ) and got passport photos for licenses.
just have to get the gp letter next week and he's good to go! hoping they won't charge me a fortune for it... has anyone got their hv to sign it instead? it says in my letter from b&b they can and i thought it might be cheaper??

princessmel · 11/08/2006 16:29

Hi Dylansluckymum, thats a good idea about the HV, I'll ask mine next time I need a new one.
I just paid the fee when I went to collect it. I did ask why it was £28 though and she said that its the charges the BMA reccomended.

Mrratty, Did you take photos of dd next to the shop window?! I would have!

julie4travel · 11/08/2006 16:41

i tried my health visitor and she wouldn't sign the form although i tried!

YummyMummy21 · 11/08/2006 16:48

Princess> Thats such a nice idea, I hope mrratty has thought of it already as i think they were going to look at 4ish.
I still cant believe how much your doc charged for the letter

Dylansluckymum> I didnt know that the HV could do it, I think I might ask her when I next go there just incase the doc decides to start charging.
