I just fancy a change of focus.

I'll jump right in with Great Portland Street - I think I'm entitled to do that, with it being beyond the autumn equinox, but before Halloween?

Any takers?

Bounds Green on a Tuesday. before the Chinese New Year is very dangerous, bordering on reckless play toaster your only saving grace is the avoidance of that of which we do not speak....

i humbly offer mudchute by way of finch's paradigm

FuckingWankwings · 28/01/2014 17:12

I'd clean forgotten about the Incident. I hope my move didn't contribute to that Dollis Hill blip.

I'll be careful and just Cronk, widdershins, to Piccadilly Circus.

MooncupGoddess · 28/01/2014 23:39

Oh botheration, Wankwings, that Cronk has put me straight into Nidd. Angry

FuckingWankwings · 29/01/2014 09:32

No, Goddess, you're fine! I'm not so careless. That Hollingsworth from a few moves ago lined up an Apsewards Bunk. That's why I went for Piccadilly Circus instead of, say, Sloane Square, which LOOKS at first glance like a similar move but, with the Bunk, would have been pretty disastrous.

MooncupGoddess · 29/01/2014 10:53

Hmm. Are you sure? I thought Macaulay's 1934 Commentary on Hollingsworth was pretty definitive on the issue...

FuckingWankwings · 29/01/2014 11:03

I'm pretty sure, yes. Macaulay doesn't devote much space to this and what it does say is technically only in relation to Piccadilly Binding, from which Sloane Square has always been exempt.

MooncupGoddess · 29/01/2014 11:44

OK, I'll take your word for it, and essay an elegant gibe to Lambeth North.

flamingtoaster · 29/01/2014 11:57

Glad to see we are out of danger. I think a reverse triple shunt to Colliers Wood would consolidate the position.

AlbertGiordino · 29/01/2014 12:11

and from there, the sensible move would be a plant into Bow Church

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 29/01/2014 17:01

And from there a triple jink to

Stanmore

Olivegirl · 30/01/2014 09:33

Bow church to stanmore? ... That gives me a double move!
"Hackney central " hackney wick" leaving out homerton for obvious reasons..

flamingtoaster · 30/01/2014 13:52

After a lot of thought I'll use Tobermory’s Stratagem and play Chalfont & Latimer.

Olivegirl · 01/02/2014 13:30

Swift move to " Kenton " but now I've made the next move a bit too easy Wink

speed research leads to Archway being proposed.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 01/02/2014 13:48

Hmm. Very challenging. I'll opt for

Pimlico

flamingtoaster · 01/02/2014 20:28

Was going to play Bethnal Green but remembered we are now in February just in time. Playing safe - Chalk Farm.

AlbertGiordino · 03/02/2014 10:55

I think a fair gimble to Bank evens the board up a bit IYSWIM.... Wink

Bother, I missed the weekend's action and see I've let an opportunity to play a Fandeagle slip through my fingers.

Never mind. That Bank gimble means that if I call a quarter-mark I can take us all to Euston Square, and as long as the Hampton Convention prevails, MC in about six or seven.

Olivegirl · 03/02/2014 11:50

Look whats happened...that leaves only one move (if we are to go by the former rules of shappleton) ...Baker Street.
If not following these rules then MC is not in sight.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 03/02/2014 12:36

Aha. Some very innovative play here, so I will abide by the Antwerp Convention rules and perform a double Tharp to

Kennington

flamingtoaster · 03/02/2014 15:38

Ah - I think then I really need to play the 1983 variation on the transverse Mountain gambit to Farringdon.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/02/2014 09:09

Very nice move there.

FuckingWankwings · 04/02/2014 09:20

Don't you have one up your sleeve, Maud? I think there's an opportunity to Trifect there that would be right up your street.

But seeing as the field is wide open, I'll call Pinscher Time so I can play Harrow & Wealdstone.
