A little Mornington Crescent - anyone care to join in?

I just fancy a change of focus.

I'll jump right in with Great Portland Street - I think I'm entitled to do that, with it being beyond the autumn equinox, but before Halloween?

Any takers?

Yes, I think you're right, toaster. DLR has not been wild in this game.

May I suggest Finsbury Park, to offset a potentially tricky bifurcated Mimp?

flamingtoaster · 15/01/2014 19:15

I've just done it again - it should, of course, be fewer - I think I'll go and lie down.

flamingtoaster · 15/01/2014 19:17

On the other hand if you are avoiding a potentially tricky bifurcated Mimp can I suggest a lateral counter-inversion to North Harrow.

FuckingWankwings · 15/01/2014 20:28

North Harrow is such a downright sexy move that you've redeemed yourself over Lessgate, toaster!

My only response is Tufnell Park,

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 15/01/2014 20:42

Hey ho.

Stockwell.

flamingtoaster · 16/01/2014 13:12

So glad I can put Lessgate behind me and I think I will play safe with Kew Gardens.

AlbertGiordino · 16/01/2014 14:37

I'm going to mention the elephant in the room.

We are currently on 886 or thereabouts moves.

The thread was created on 24th October.

Now I dont want to rush anyone. But by my calculations this thread will self destruct on Wednesday, 22 January 2014 - or 6 days from now.

So,

  1. Will we get to 1000 posts before said deletion?
  2. Will we manage to contrive an MC call on post 1000
  3. Will MNHQ and their love for MC - I'm looking at you KateSMumsnet - move this to an area that may lead to it NEVER BEING DELETED?

My move - a lesser spotted elbow - to Elephant and Castle

Olivegirl · 16/01/2014 17:39

Ooooooo how exciting!, we can do this ...little choice at this time so its the DLR to " pontoon dock"

FuckingWankwings · 16/01/2014 17:43

Headstone Lane should put us a little closer to achieving one of those aims, Albert. I'm not going to say which, because of course you all know EXACTLY what I'm talking about...

MooncupGoddess · 16/01/2014 18:04

You're incorrigible, Wankwings.

I suppose in that case I'll have to go for Liverpool St.

flamingtoaster · 16/01/2014 19:23

Onwards to Marble Arch, I think. Thank you for your analysis, Albert - very useful.

AlbertGiordino · 17/01/2014 11:06

We've been moved.

Thanks MNHQ - I would have been severely displeased with extreme prejudice if this thread had've gone poof.

In the spirit of this move. I offer a Topical Switch to Goldhawk Road

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 17/01/2014 13:20

And from thence, a quadrilateral Mingus to

Westminster

flamingtoaster · 17/01/2014 19:13

Very nicely done, Maud - I would have thought it would have taken a Pentagonal Mingus to get to Westminster from there (and I haven't seen one of those played since the 1996 World Convention Final). High Barnet (via a reversel vector).

flamingtoaster · 17/01/2014 19:15

Sorry that should be reversed vector.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 18/01/2014 16:28

Thank you

::modest blush::

So how about a penting shuffle (see Kershaw and Mulligan 1957) to

Ealing Broadway?

flamingtoaster · 18/01/2014 21:05

Alperton, I think, using the Richmann quantum salsa reversal (I really must stop playing reversals but I think it is needed at this point).

FuckingWankwings · 19/01/2014 13:38

A broadside Kemp to West Kensington, and I can see MC in five! (I really can this time; we have Amblington's Rule in our favour).

MooncupGoddess · 19/01/2014 13:42

Oh I like Amblington. A lateral thrust to Embankment for me. (I know what you're going to say, Wankwings, but with Embankment Northern and Bakerloo platforms closed for refurbishment the Cornelius Gambit becomes possible.)

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 19/01/2014 18:40

Hmm. Has anyone tried Whitworth's double mangle to Temple yet? If not, I will!

FuckingWankwings · 20/01/2014 12:01

Goddess, that's chutzpah! You're right though, it's perfectly legit in those circumstances.

No one's tried a mangle yet. I don't think there was an opportunity before just now.

I'm able to play, off the back of that, Custom House for Excel [pleased]

flamingtoaster · 20/01/2014 13:05

Goldhawk Road using Stovold’s Defence as it is a forward triangulation.

AlbertGiordino · 20/01/2014 13:29

I'm thinking...

... Boston Manor

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 20/01/2014 17:37

Eek. That has nearly put me in nidd but I think I can just manage a further triangulation to

North Acton

flamingtoaster · 20/01/2014 21:27

That was a close one, Maud! Invoking the Watling Street variation - a short hop to Northolt.
