Reports of Zombie's demise...

have been greatly exaggerated. She may be a wee bit battered and bruised, but she bends and doesn't break.

Most of you probably know her back story but, for those who don't, here's a very brief recap:

The last 2 1/2 years have been absolutely horrendous: family crises, a breast cancer diagnosis and 20 months of treatment for that, bereavements and sorting out her late MIL's estate. As you can imagine, she found it a struggle at times.

Just under a year ago, DZOH began an "inappropriate" on-line relationship with a woman he "met" playing scrabble on Facebook. At the time he was spending most of his time at his mum's house in Nottingham sorting things out and putting it on the market. The on-line relationship fairly quickly progressed to a full blown physical affair. The woman lives in Wales and he would pay her train fare to come to Nottingham to see him. Zombie was fully aware of everything that was going on and tried to do everything she could to save her marriage. He left Zombie in mid-February, first staying in Nottingham before moving in with her in mid-March. He continued to come back to DDS to take Zombie to her hospital treatments. In mid-May he started making reference to coming back to her. He finally did so in mid-August. Two weeks after he came back they went to Kos for a fortnight. Halfway through the holiday he told her that he was leaving as soon as they returned to the UK. Which he duly did on Friday, 13th September.

Zombie went through all the trauma, drama and devastation between October and August. That is behind her. She's relieved that that it is finally over. A few nights ago she realised that she was sitting here completely relaxed and smiling for no reason. It's as though an enormous weight has been lifted from her.

She's currently packing up his belongings, deciding what she needs to replace, etc. He will come with a man and a van in a few weeks time to remove everything. There are obviously other pracicalities to be sorted out but they are doing so in as amicable a manner as possible.

Can Zombie please ask those of you who are Facebook friends with her NOT to say anything publicly on there about any of this.

Onwards and upwards. Wink

Miranda Hart-Worst Autobiography ever ever ever

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 20/12/2013 23:00

They do have the best hairdryers, just they don't keep them at my house, and the piss-up was over the road.
One of them is standing up in the basement because if he sits down he will fall asleep and he won't be able to go out and carry on partying.
I hasten to add DH, their boss, is snoring in front of the TV, there'll be no more partying for him tonight - he has an early start at the mill Grin

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 20/12/2013 23:03

What ever possessed you to read it?

She's one of those people who makes me bosom-hoikingly grim faced and sour.

Love Julie Walters though.

sanssoleil · 20/12/2013 23:08

I have been 'ill' BBB

I have a lot of respect for Clare Balding

mea most maxima culpa

Julie Walters is intelligent but acts psuedostupid on chat shows

sanssoleil · 20/12/2013 23:15

*pseudostupid

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 20/12/2013 23:15

Sorry sol.
Mmm, I like CB.
JW is annoying when she unecessarily plays to the audience, maybe underestimating them?
But she was mind blowing in Talking Heads.

sanssoleil · 20/12/2013 23:30

JW was amazing at being Mo Molam and can talk really discursively and intelligentely

I like CB and think she is massively under-used in broadcasing but her autobiography is dire

She is very quickwitted and engaging

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 20/12/2013 23:33

Haaaa, they've all gone.

Fid, really wanted to say well done for impressing your new boss. Presumably he'll have had a report from the previous bitchincumbent and is making a point; he disagrees.
Sounds like you've done all the right things to turn round the end of term to make it positive Smile for you and DD.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 20/12/2013 23:42

I tend to avoid autobiographies of "celebs".
By nature they have to be self congratulatory and waaaaaaay too long. And there's never enough truth about what they really think of people they've met along the way.

sanssoleil · 20/12/2013 23:48

They never talk the truth because they may have the same agent/don't want to alienate other slebs/agents they may work with

I read shit loads of books so you don't have to!Grin

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 20/12/2013 23:54

Aw, thanks Grin !

Of course you're right, and shed loads of money may figure in there somewhere too?

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 21/12/2013 00:10

I've been meaning to say that I hope you will all get what you want for Christmas.
I don't mean in terms of presents, I mean being with the people you want to be with, and them being how you want them to be.

sol is right, this is a lovely thread.

Thank you Zombie Flowers

sanssoleil · 21/12/2013 00:27

to Zombie a lovely thread where lots of us have had support and fun and shared experiences

Hope we will all stay virtual friends

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 21/12/2013 00:52

Caramba, these people can eat. What do you think of this?

3pm Ceremony

4pm champagne and canapés (lots, substantial)

6pm a table, 3 starters (each, not a choice) choice of 2 mains, 3 puds (ditto starters)

Faffing, speeches, music, dancing, blah.

11pm Buffet! Loads of BBq meat and cold cuts, and prawns, fish soup. Five puddings, fruit table, chocolate fondue. Cheese table.

Shock

I won't need to eat again till next Christmas.

And I certainly won't be able to do all that, and dance!

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 21/12/2013 01:08

BBB, Portuguese is that right? We went to a proper Italian wedding once when I was a teenager and I think there were 13 courses. You must pace yourself!

Zombie I haven't posted before but I am so pleased to see you doing so well Smile

sanssoleil · 21/12/2013 01:11

Bloody hell
I can manage canapes and champagne and a showdanceGrin

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 21/12/2013 01:51

You are right Hearts my darling.
I can pace myself but that lot would take a week!

I'm gonna have to take doggie bags Grin

Can you all design me a mother of the bride ensemble with lots of pockets Grin

and a rucksack

IamtheZombie · 22/12/2013 00:47

Morning all! 'Tis Zombie the insomniac checking in.

She's delighted to see you've all been playing so nicely in her absence.

ssd, don't just read, join in!

Fid, you have given Zombie at least as much support as she has given you.

soleil, of course we will stay friends. And not just virtually, I hope.

Hearts, don't be a stranger. Zombie is confuzzled about something though. She thought she saw a post from you that indicated you are in a time zone 5 hours away from here. She also thought she met you at the London meet up.

Bewitched, you need the special deluxe edition OFRS.

Apparently at Polish weddings there are 3 three course meals following the ceremony. Late DH went to one once.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 22/12/2013 01:08

'Allo me darlin' , hope all well Smile

Ido need one of those deluxe thingys, link please Grin

I think I can help with Zombie's confuzzledness.
She did meet Hearts at the London meet up. Hearts is Canadian (or is married to a Canadian) and has gone there for Christmas.

Um, hope I haven't spoken out of turn there, have only said what has been posted on site

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 22/12/2013 01:24

I thought Zombie and soleil were planning to meet for coffee.
Was really looking forward to hearing how that went.
Can you get cracking on that please?
Envy

Thanks Grin

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 22/12/2013 01:26

And, no, having a dodgy knee, and not being able to walk is no excuse sol !

sanssoleil · 22/12/2013 02:01

I am starting to feel 'intimately terrorised' by you BBB Grin

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 22/12/2013 10:24

Not sure if that's good or bad.

On balance, i think it sounds quite nice Grin

FairyTiggybelle · 22/12/2013 10:26

There must have been a demise at some point for her to become a zombie. Technically, this should have been a thread about Zombie's second demise.

(Demi-demise?)

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 23/12/2013 00:24

Demi means half I believe, and as we learned a few posts ago Zombie doesn't do things by halves.

Maybe demise deuxieme?

Demise encore?
