Reports of Zombie's demise...

have been greatly exaggerated. She may be a wee bit battered and bruised, but she bends and doesn't break.

Most of you probably know her back story but, for those who don't, here's a very brief recap:

The last 2 1/2 years have been absolutely horrendous: family crises, a breast cancer diagnosis and 20 months of treatment for that, bereavements and sorting out her late MIL's estate. As you can imagine, she found it a struggle at times.

Just under a year ago, DZOH began an "inappropriate" on-line relationship with a woman he "met" playing scrabble on Facebook. At the time he was spending most of his time at his mum's house in Nottingham sorting things out and putting it on the market. The on-line relationship fairly quickly progressed to a full blown physical affair. The woman lives in Wales and he would pay her train fare to come to Nottingham to see him. Zombie was fully aware of everything that was going on and tried to do everything she could to save her marriage. He left Zombie in mid-February, first staying in Nottingham before moving in with her in mid-March. He continued to come back to DDS to take Zombie to her hospital treatments. In mid-May he started making reference to coming back to her. He finally did so in mid-August. Two weeks after he came back they went to Kos for a fortnight. Halfway through the holiday he told her that he was leaving as soon as they returned to the UK. Which he duly did on Friday, 13th September.

Zombie went through all the trauma, drama and devastation between October and August. That is behind her. She's relieved that that it is finally over. A few nights ago she realised that she was sitting here completely relaxed and smiling for no reason. It's as though an enormous weight has been lifted from her.

She's currently packing up his belongings, deciding what she needs to replace, etc. He will come with a man and a van in a few weeks time to remove everything. There are obviously other pracicalities to be sorted out but they are doing so in as amicable a manner as possible.

Can Zombie please ask those of you who are Facebook friends with her NOT to say anything publicly on there about any of this.

Bewitched my knee is still dislocating I am having vit D injections and finding it really difficult to function physically

I'm not very jolly today, I'm afraid, I witnessed a horrible accident yesterday, and all kinds of crap happening in DH family.

Sans sorry to read you're not well. And sorry that I have nothing to cheer you up but wish you well for today, it sounds grim.

Zombie I've just caught up with your Sky saga - how infuriating. I managed to sign up for their services a few years ago in a most beneficial way ensuring the children and I have had years of satellite TV for a very reasonable amount. Was a godsend after years of CNN Bloody International and badly dubbed forrin TV. So maybe a bit of balancing out karma to help soothe your brow.

Am off shortly to a meeting with FidBoy2's teachers. At the last one they made him cry and I was furious. Doesn't help that I work there too. What does help though is that they asked the new school counsellor to attend today and I really like her, so does FidBoy2. I managed to speak to her yesterday and told her about the last meeting, so am hoping it helps.

Bewitched, Zombie has seen a couple of horrific accidents. It really does shake you up. Hope the crap departs DH's family soon. Has DD arrived yet?

Fid, Zombie was a bit more discreet today. Hope the meeting at school went well.

Sky saga appears to progressing at last. When Zombie got home this afternoon, she'd received an email from a woman on the Executive Support Team in response to the email she had sent to the CEO of BSkyB. Zombie had a long talk with her. She understands the problem and more importantly thinks she can resolve it. It will proably be 48 hours before Zombie has more news but she finally feels that someone is listening and trying to help.

But when I click to post, the post above the box is from sanssoleil on Nov 27th - heh? It was doing it last night but I was too tired to check.

Zombie - reading straight from your OP - that moment is the most amazing revelation isn't it? the point when you suddenly realise that the weight and despair, which has defined life for so long, is just ..gone.
And life ahead is infinitely more promising than that which has gone before.
Onwards and upwards is absolutely the motto.
(There is a fair bit of lateral movement involved, but - hey! - that's just life)

The crazy thing is that life is actually better on the other side of the chasm. Less in the bank, more of a worry...but oh god, so so much better.

You'd think it would show the 500th message then and option for next page, but on Zombies thread it's showing 639th message!

OK - I hadn't read about the 500 messages but as I type this I can see
the "view 500 messages" link above so I looked.

So you can click on that to see the first 500 posts of a thread but that doesn't explain why I was getting only the first 500 direct from TIO.

Had a meeting with FidGirl's teachers today and I would like to state for the record (having been watching US legal drama) that I hate working at the same school my children go to and that I am at 3.37 pm about to have bloody great gin and tonic.

Oh and any objections to said Gin & Tonic are hereby overruled.

I can understand how tricky that must be Fid, I hope they didn't make her cry again though.
