Reports of Zombie's demise...

IamtheZombie · 30/09/2013 16:56

have been greatly exaggerated. She may be a wee bit battered and bruised, but she bends and doesn't break.

Most of you probably know her back story but, for those who don't, here's a very brief recap:

The last 2 1/2 years have been absolutely horrendous: family crises, a breast cancer diagnosis and 20 months of treatment for that, bereavements and sorting out her late MIL's estate. As you can imagine, she found it a struggle at times.

Just under a year ago, DZOH began an "inappropriate" on-line relationship with a woman he "met" playing scrabble on Facebook. At the time he was spending most of his time at his mum's house in Nottingham sorting things out and putting it on the market. The on-line relationship fairly quickly progressed to a full blown physical affair. The woman lives in Wales and he would pay her train fare to come to Nottingham to see him. Zombie was fully aware of everything that was going on and tried to do everything she could to save her marriage. He left Zombie in mid-February, first staying in Nottingham before moving in with her in mid-March. He continued to come back to DDS to take Zombie to her hospital treatments. In mid-May he started making reference to coming back to her. He finally did so in mid-August. Two weeks after he came back they went to Kos for a fortnight. Halfway through the holiday he told her that he was leaving as soon as they returned to the UK. Which he duly did on Friday, 13th September.

Zombie went through all the trauma, drama and devastation between October and August. That is behind her. She's relieved that that it is finally over. A few nights ago she realised that she was sitting here completely relaxed and smiling for no reason. It's as though an enormous weight has been lifted from her.

She's currently packing up his belongings, deciding what she needs to replace, etc. He will come with a man and a van in a few weeks time to remove everything. There are obviously other pracicalities to be sorted out but they are doing so in as amicable a manner as possible.

Can Zombie please ask those of you who are Facebook friends with her NOT to say anything publicly on there about any of this.

Onwards and upwards. Wink

Haha Be warned I am killing threads right, left and centreGrin

Time for a namechangeSad

IamtheZombie · 04/12/2013 23:51

Oh, it will be sorted, soleil. Just frustrating.

The saga in full:

The Sky account had always been in ZoH's name; he transferred it from Bournemouth when he moved up here. We agreed that Zombie would take over the account. But, it wasn't that simple.

ZoH's package was for Sky TV with Sky+ HD box, broadband and a calls package. The telephone remained in Zombie's name so line rental paid to BT by her.

When ZoH tried to have the existing account transferred into Zombie's name he was told that wasn't possible. He had to cancel his account and then she had to set up a new account. We duly did so.

Zombie placed her order on 15 November. Everything started off swimmingly. The Sky engineer came on 21 November and installed the new HD+ box and also fine tuned the dish.

Sky now require that you have your line rental through them in order to have the broadband and calls package. Zombie was aware of this. However she wasn't aware until 22 November when she received some documentation that they were going to change her phone number. She has lived in this house and had that number for 21 years. So she immediately rang Sky. They told her that they would have to cancel her original order for the broadband, line rental and calls package and she would then need to place a new order specifying that she keep her current number.

The cancellation on the line rental and calls package went through within 2 days. On 25 November she rang to place the new order. She couldn't because the broadband cancellation was still pending. She rang again 2 days later and then daily after that. On Monday, 02 December a Customer Resolution docket was submitted and the broadband cancellation was finally effective that evening.

Yesterday evening she rang to re-place her order. After a couple of hiccups the order appeared to be successful.

This morning she received a text from them saying there was a problem and to ring them. (AGAIN) She rang and spoke with a woman who reviewed the entire history and did a bit of digging around in the back office bits. The problem is that ZoH's notice period hasn't expired yet and because the line rental is currently separate in her name no new order can be placed for that phone number.

She was given 2 alternatives:

Wait until 15 December when ZoH's package stops and she can then place her order. As that means she would be without broadband for an unknown length of time, that is not acceptable.

Ask ZoH to contact Sky, get them to cancel the cease on his package and then request the MAC code which would enable Sky to simply transfer the broadband and calls package to her account. He gives her the MAC code, she rings Sky and gives it back to them (!!!!!) and her order should then progress with no interruption of service.

ZoH rang them and was told it was too far along in the cancellation process for them to issue the MAC code! Another Customer Resolution docket has been submitted on his behalf. All being well (yeah, right) Sky will ring him between 10 and 11 in the morning with the MAC code.

She will report back tomorrow afternoon...

IamtheZombie · 05/12/2013 00:40

Not all of us are sophisticated enough to be arthouse film afficiandos, solieil. Grin

Zombie did notice you drooling, Val. She was just too polite to say anything. Wink Have you noticed that she's made it her FB cover photo?

So you did, Bewitched. Zombie has to say that absolutely everyone she has spoken with has been lovely and done their utmost to help her. However, she now has the strong impression that the training they receive could do with a LOT of improvement.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 05/12/2013 23:21

I nearly took flight this morning in the wind! I share a car with my son and forgot to ask where it was last time he used it. So had to stomp the streets, most of which are wind tunnels.
Took 15 minutes and I was wearing my huge, long fake fur coat which fills up like a parachute Grin
I had to hold on to a lamp post at one point to avoid being blown off my feet!
We need a photo of them shoes soleil!
Just watching the Mandela tributes etc. I was at the concert at Wembley, heavily pregnant in 1988.

sanssoleil · 05/12/2013 23:36

Iwas posting as the news of Nelson Mandela's death was breaking

Wondered this morning whether you were being affected by the wind,I just daren't go out until my bones are stronger

IamtheZombie · 05/12/2013 23:51

poor Zombie I can't live without 'dancemoms'
I can't taunt you with pics of my kickass shoes until your Sky is sorted

But I am seriously not a naice person atm

So need to keep on thread to be whispered back into RLGrin

IamtheZombie · 06/12/2013 00:16

Oh, the TV package is safe. Sorry, should have made that clear. It's the broadband (which Zombie needs to MN!!), phone line rental and calls package that are the problem.

OP posts:
sanssoleil · 06/12/2013 00:23

Waiting around for calls just gives me therage

I am beginning to panic about Xmas

AAARRrrrgghhh

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 06/12/2013 00:25

Just keep soldiering on Zomb, it will happen, and when it does you'll think why the fuck couldn't they have just done that in the first place ...aarrgghh!

Whisky is the answer Smile

sol they seem to have coped with Vagina Knitting, so I think they'll manage your shoes dahling. Anyway it's only us lovely ones here.

It's funny, Bride-to-be and I have always had quite an explosive relationship. I think we might both be walking on eggshells, but so far it seems to be working.

DH and I allowed our wedding to be dictated to us, we wanted very small and intimate, my Dad wanted hoopla or he wouldn't pay! We weren't that fussed, we just wanted to be married and we wanted him to pay!

My primary objective is to not do that to her (whoops, them Grin) within £££ restrictions.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 06/12/2013 00:34

We are in tune !

I was just thinking when writing last post, that I would ask you all what you're doing for Christmas Xmas Smile

sanssoleil · 06/12/2013 00:38

My sister works in the 'Art World' she is so over knit your vagina/vagina knitters that she has a standard letter of rejection
As a Marxist/feminist it has been agonisingGrin for her

I wanted small wedding[s] but complicated by cultural expectations

I hope that you have fun wedding planning

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 06/12/2013 00:39

You may or may not be naice sol and I may not always grasp what you're on about, but I really like you.

And I'm sending you a huge ... (((())))) one of them, hah!
