julie4travel. I forgot to say yes I did put her on the spotlight and those pics were updated in May so there is still time yet for her to get work hopefully

thorntons · 03/07/2006 15:31

Hi all!
Mimi ,will def keep any eye out for ad! How exciting!
Educating Rita.Great to hear casting went ok. Fingers crossed for you and dd. I think 2-3 year is a difficult age. My little one can be uncoperative if she doesn`t like a particular outfit! Maybe you could ask her agency to put her on hold for a while rather than leave altogether??

tigeryuan · 03/07/2006 15:33

hello everyone..

mimi - will check out the CD. is that for the FM classical baby?

we're not going to the MOT photoshoot, we cant find time at the moment. why cant they do it over the weekend. do you think it'll make much different if ds isn't on their website & model book?

yummy - sorry that i cant make it this sat. now. the forecast for this weekend will be shower, so, its not good for a picnic!
could still meet up on sunday afternoon if you want.

educatingrita - Mysonsmummy was asking about Inspired Kid.

Mysonsmummy - i've no idea, i believed they'd gone!!

welldone to all have jobs/castings!

mythumbelinas · 03/07/2006 15:54

tigeryuan, my friend's dds have been with MOT for a few yrs, and this yr her dd1 is on the front of the website and she says she's much more busy now with 2 job offers everyweek, but has to turn most of it down!

tigeryuan · 03/07/2006 15:58

thanks mythumbelinas - really! so, it does make the differnece if ds is on their website then..

the weaterh was sooo good yesterday. your dd1s party must be fun!

mythumbelinas · 03/07/2006 16:07

yeah, party was great .. was panicking that dd1 had invited too many friends (26) and family and close friends that were round (16) .. but it was fine as 6 kids couldn't make it. Hired a bouncy castle too, but then there wasn't much garden space left.

well, my dd1 should be on her agency's website, but not much luck with her! Good luck with finding the time, if you really feel you'd like ds to be on MOT's website

thorntons · 03/07/2006 16:12

Thumbs, thanks for your email.DD is a massive Dora fan too. In fact she is wearing a Dora top today. I think she would have done the same as your dd.
Tiger. Hope you all had a great weekend -how is your lovely ds? Do you know when your ds and dh will be in print?
Good luck to all those with castings and jobs this week.

mimi1uk · 03/07/2006 18:32

im sick of watching adverts now they r doing my head in

mrratty · 03/07/2006 18:34

Hi mimi1uk, I kinda know how you feel as I'm desperatly hoping Thursday will hurry up so I can see DD in print. Good luck spotting your AD!

beacon · 03/07/2006 19:25

Hi. I haven't been on this thread for ages, but wanted to find out if anyone's children have been to the casting for a TV ad for a laundry product called Splat? It's an offshoot of Persil.
The reason I ask is because they're filming part of the ad at my house and when they came round to check it out, they took photos of ds (he's with Bruce & Brown) as a potential for the role of the child.
They've decided not to use him because they want a slightly older child. DS is 18 months old and doesn't take direction very well!!!
Anyway, thought it would be fun if it was a MN child who ended up at my house.

thorntons · 03/07/2006 19:32

Hi Beacon! Wow,that`s exciting news re filming in your house. How is your ds getting on with B and B? Shame he Persil decided not to use him,but I bet there will be plenty of other jobs to comex

beacon · 03/07/2006 19:50

Thorntons>> Yes it would have been perfect - a job in our own house!. It's been really quiet with B&B, but I think things do go quiet for his age range because of the terrible two's thing. Or am I kidding myself? Still I keep thinking B&B wouldn't have taken him on if they didn't think he had potential.

thorntons · 03/07/2006 19:55

Beacon ,totally agree with you! B and B would not have taken him on unless they thought he would get work. After all they need the commission to make a living! I am sure he will get plenty of work soon enough. When is persil ad filming in your house?

littlemadam · 03/07/2006 20:35

Hi Haven't been on for a while either, but saw beacons message. We went to audition and to recall last fri for Splat. We should hear tomorrow, but B and B have got licence anyway. Its filming next week, is that you???? Anyone else up?

beacon · 03/07/2006 20:36

Thorntons>> The ad's being filmed next week. The production team have been over twice and are coming over two more times this week to discuss logistics . Still we're getting paid lots for it, so I don't mind.

beacon · 03/07/2006 20:37

Little>> Yeah it's Splat. Do you mind me asking how old your LO is?

beacon · 03/07/2006 20:37

Little>> Yeah it's Splat. Do you mind me asking how old your LO is?

littlemadam · 03/07/2006 20:39

Beacon, must be the same one!! They have about four scenarios? The youngest at auditions was about four, so must have gone for older children, bet they would have used you LO otherwise!! Have you had your house used before?

littlemadam · 03/07/2006 20:40

Sorry Beacon, we must have crossed in the ether!!He is six, and was up for the youngest "cheeky boy" part.

beacon · 03/07/2006 20:42

Little >> The Location Manager (LM) told me they are using five different locations. I think they're doing a series of ads for the same product.
Our house has been used a few times for photo shoots, but this is the first TV ad. The house is getting more work than ds!!
DS wouldn't do anything the director wanted him to do, so I knew he wasn't going to be cast.

beacon · 03/07/2006 20:44

Little >> fingers crossed your DS gets it coz I'm pretty sure the 'cheeky boy' bit will be filmed at mine. They were dicussing what a little boy would be doing in the ad while they were here. Did you know it's only being shown in Europe though?

littlemadam · 03/07/2006 21:05

No I didn't!! It did say EU on the notes but I thought that would include the UK!! That must be why no-one had any lines!!! How exciting though, really crossing my fingers!! We had to go down to London from Leeds two days in a row for audition, have never done adverts, so didn't realize would have to go again for a recall the next day. Will let you know! I'm sure your little boy will get work very soon, from what I hear its often the sample sizes, ie the even numbers that get lots of the photoshoots, though I would bow to anyone with greater knowledge!!!

beacon · 03/07/2006 21:09

Little>> Sorry I'm being a bit thick but what does: 'its often the sample sizes, ie the even numbers that get lots of the photoshoots' mean? Thanks for kind words about DS

littlemadam · 03/07/2006 21:15

Beacon, as far as I know, the clothes are first made up as samples for the company (we used to do a bit of knitwear), before the labelled finished garments are produced. and I do know that age 2 and age 6 were certainly often used. One mum I met who had four children all modelling thought that it worked like this generally. She said six was very busy but then fell off for a year. Not sure how it works for babies though, I might be talking a load of rubbish!!

beacon · 03/07/2006 21:17

Well let's hope you're right so DS will be busy in six months time when he's two!
