Hi

OP posts:
YummyMummy21 · 16/06/2006 19:25

Hi All, can I please join you?

I am new to MN, I used to go on Bounty alot but people keep leaving because certain people have turned a bit 'bitchy' towards others so have discovered MN.

Anyway, sorry for that long winded intro...... My DD Alysia is an Urban Angel. She has had a few castings but as yet NO work. She has been wth them since Feb 06.

Got a call today about a casting, so fingers crossed for that one.

Anyway hope everyone is Ok.
Take care Hannah xxx

lanismum · 16/06/2006 19:38

hiya yummymummy, my dd is with urban angels too, has also had castings but no work yet, and has also been with them since feb 06!
how old is alysia? do you know what the casting is for? welcome to this thread, im sure some others will be along to say hello soon Smile

lanismum · 16/06/2006 19:40

thorntons, your dds job sounds great, will look out for her in junior Grin

thorntons · 16/06/2006 19:46

Hi Yummymummy ! Along with Lanismum ,want to say welcome to Mumsnet ! Everyone on this thread is lovely .Seen your dds pic on childmodeling.net.She is gorgeous! I am sure both your dd and Lanismum dd will get work very soon. Hang in on here they havent been modelling very long. They are getting plenty of castings which is great news. Take care x

thorntons · 16/06/2006 19:48

Thanks Lanismum .Photographer and team were all really lovely x

YummyMummy21 · 16/06/2006 20:03

Thanks,Yes I'm sure that their times will come very soon (she says crossing her fingers) LoL.

The casting is for next weekend. Alysia didnt say who it was for, but just wanted to check dates as its on a Sat/Sun. It was abit of a rushed phone call to tbh as my mobile battery was running low.

Do you have profiles here on MN? I must admit that it feels very strange getting used to a new forum layout but im sure that I will get used to it soon enough.

Take Care
xxxx

lanismum · 16/06/2006 20:12

yummy, i think our dds could be at the same casting? i had a call from alysia to check she was available for next sat/sun too, and the dates of the actual shoot which i cant remember, she told me it was for littlewoods, and that she would be in touch to let me know when she was to go.

YummyMummy21 · 16/06/2006 20:26

Yes Lanismum, sounds like it could be.
I think that she said the actual shot was the tues, wed or thurs after(but could be wrong). She said that she would confirm dates with me when she knew more too. Well maybe I will see you there then. Did Alysia give you a place and time or just the dates?

Forgot to say that Alysia will be 17months on the 21st of this month.

xxx

lanismum · 16/06/2006 20:31

nope no place or times, just the dates, lani is 15 months, her pic is also on childmodelling.net, ill have a look out for you and your dd if we get confirmed Smile

YummyMummy21 · 16/06/2006 21:44

Hi Lanismum, just had a nose on childmodelling.net, Lani is very cute. I want to change the pic of Alysia on the 'star of the week' because I took the cutest pic of her in a cowboy hat and wellies, but cant find the cables to do it.

If we are both at the casting/shot then ill look out for you too. Ill keep you posted and let you know if we will be there.

Take care xxxx

izzyrubi · 16/06/2006 21:49

YummyMummy >> Welcome to the thread!!

Lanismum >> I'm sure it's just a question of time, Lani is way too gorgeous not to get work, give it a while, I know it will happen, plus as thorntons mentioned at least she's getting castings!

Thorntons >> Glad to hear you can make it, I hope it's a nice day so we can sit outside! Will be lovely to meet you and gorgeous dd!!

DD was short listed for another book job, fingers crossed she will get it! Tomorrow we're doing the t-shirt store job, it's in Kensington, anyone else going?

tigeryuan · 16/06/2006 21:51

evening all,

dh said the casting went okay today (at least ds didn't cry at all!). there were kids of different age group. there were also adults came for casting. ds had few pics taken by a photography, then filled out the form. photo shoot will take place from next friday i think!
dh had a chat with the client. the client asked my dh that is the mum a model; my dh replied that she isn't pretty and NO! Grin
the client then asked him that whether he is a model; my dh laughed and said NO!!
heheee. i'm not angry and i found it quite funny!

anyway, fingers crossed that ds will get the job!!

welcome YummyMummy21 !

thorntons - welldone to the junior job!

tigeryuan · 16/06/2006 21:53

izzyrubi - excellent !!

YummyMummy21 · 16/06/2006 22:04

LoL Tigeryuan, Its good that you can laugh about it. If it was me I'd have to give him the silent treatment for atleast a hour. He,He

Izzyrubi-Good Luck with the job tomorrow, and good luck for the book job ill keep my fingers crossed for you.

What do you usually put your LO's in for castings?
I have just been putting Alysia in jeans and a pink T-shirt for all of hers but like I said she hasnt got any of them, so just wondering about everyone else.
xxx

lanismum · 16/06/2006 22:29

i have been putting lani in jeans ad plain top, but shes not been to a casting while its been warm, so if she gets this 1 next week she will prob wear a dress, nothing too ott though. not that she has anything ott!

izzyrubi · 16/06/2006 22:32

tigeryuan >> fingers crossed ds will get the job, wonder why they wanted to know if you were a model!!!

YummyMummy >> I also dress dd in jeans and t-shirt, much easier than a dress when you have to carry them/take on the pram etc. I don't think it makes too much difference as castings directors are so used to choosing the kids... anyway good luck with that castings, let us know how you get on!

izzyrubi · 16/06/2006 22:33

Lanismum >> I'm sure she'll look gorgeous in a dress, I don't think my dd likes her dresses as she gets stuck everytime she tried to stand up, bless her! Grin

lanismum · 16/06/2006 22:36

awwww bless her, lani does look cute in dresses, but i have to put knickers on underneath or the monkey takes her nappy off and flashes her bum Grin

YummyMummy21 · 16/06/2006 22:54

LoL Lanismum, if we are both at this casting then it will be easy to spot you!
I'll just look for the little girl running around with no nappy flashing her bum.

xXx

Hi All
I am new to this site and just wanted to ask some advice. My ds has just been accepted onto bk's books and I have read through a number of these threads and seen numerous negative/defensive references to this agency. My concern is that they will accept anyone in order to get their £94 fee and then not get any work. This may be grossly unfair but I have a cynical mind. Has anyone had their child rejected by bk?

izzyrubi · 17/06/2006 16:10

mumtojosh >> first of all welcome to the thread! Now, this is quite a sensitive subject around here as many of us have had our kids on bk's books for a long time with absolutely no work or even castings and as soon as we left them and went to another agency kids got work, but there are people that actually like bk and I know some people do get work through them... to me they have far too many kids on their books and that means the internal competition is higher, but that's my personal opinion. Good luck anyway and let us know how you get on!

izzyrubi · 17/06/2006 16:15

Hi everyone! Just got back from t-shirt job, it was great, dd's photos will be used for both their new catalogue and the adverts on mags and papers, the photographer and production team were really nice and the house we did the shoot was unbelievable, mum stayed with ds, bless her!!
Anyway it's a beautiful day, hope everyone is enjoying their saturday!

julie4travel · 17/06/2006 16:33

Izzi- well done, whats it for?

Mumtojosh- welcome! Both my children got refused by BK a couple of months back. For reference my son was with scallywags for the past year and recently been accepted by quite a few agents including TS, Norrie Carr, Rascals etc. I am hoping that BK are not taking as many on due to teh negative feedback on them. Try some other agents first who may get you more of a guarantee for work. If you go onto Childmodelling.net you can have a look at the profiles of agencies to see who are rated highly etc. Good Luck- don't go with the first one which accepts you especially if you have to pay money out!

julie4travel · 17/06/2006 16:50

Strawb- Are you going on the shoot on Sunday with CS for the photos on their website?

izzyrubi · 17/06/2006 17:20

Julie >> For a new t-shirt company, really nice t-shirts for todllers and kids! They had kids from 1-10 years old at the shooting...
Is ds on CS' website already?
