How many of us actually meet Shona's little sidekicks criteria?
She states that all of us on Mumsnet are in our 30s, living in London and have a degree. How many people here meet that criteria?
How many are popping prozac depressed at the shit life we now have with kids?
Damn that woman is nasty!

Lucas rocks the funny

perhaps its the common slang you are having trouble with?

Xenia - you rock the right wing my true blue friend

GibberTheMonkey · 12/04/2013 13:11

I'm a fake woman

clam · 12/04/2013 13:16

49 (sob),
Home Counties,
one degree,
no ADs (unless alcohol counts?).
However, I do have one top from Boden saw it advertised on here,
but as it's shrunk in the wash I'm not counting it.

Tortington · 12/04/2013 13:18

read women read the FT online AND have an e-mail subscription

Tortington · 12/04/2013 13:19

SNAP fail

smugmumofboys · 12/04/2013 13:23

Used to live in London, now in NW
Degree

Zara1984 · 12/04/2013 13:41

Grin Custardo

Cheeky unpaid-for subscriptions count too, right....?!

DS wears some Boden... it's all hand-me-down though. I think he actually dislikes the MC association because those tops are always the ones he vomits all over... hmmmm

Tortington · 12/04/2013 13:50

may i venture that hand-me down- boden is true MC where as new boden reaks of new MC money Wink

i got a boden skirt from a chairty shop and wet myself all the way home thinking of mumsnet

MrsCosmopilite · 12/04/2013 13:54

I'm not in my 30's
I don't live in London (though I used to, pre MN)
I have a degree and am studying for an MSc

In the past have refused anti-d's in favour of counselling.

I have never worn Boden in my life. My clothes come from H&M, New Look, and charity shops. Occasionally Debenhams. M&S for undercrackers.

I don't like Lidl. I do like Ikea. I can take or leave hobnobs.

Matilda74 · 12/04/2013 14:04

38 in the south west and a housewife was a nurse and i love boden especially the scary prints :o)))

Mynewmoniker · 12/04/2013 14:04

Bonzo77 - You know what? MN at the moment has its quota of judgemental, opinionated, prejudiced members who are quick to slag off others. Maybe Shona should look around properly, she'd find she'd like it after all.

You pinched the words right outta my mouth Bonzo.

Not fitting her desciption at all...except being opinionated and judgmental.

One finger pointing forward and three pointing back for her!

Ghostsgowoooh · 12/04/2013 14:14

Hmm I meet two out or the three criteria.

I'm in my thirties and I have a degree but live in North Wales. Do take pills though.

fromparistoberlin · 12/04/2013 14:16

sheesh, am I the only 30 something Londoner!!!!

need link please

sieglinde · 12/04/2013 14:17

50s, Oxfordshire village, three degrees. So none Grin

DwellsUndertheSink · 12/04/2013 14:20

nearly 50, home counties, 2 degrees, no ADs ever.

cowmop · 12/04/2013 14:21

Well, I'm 31 but don't fit any of the other categories and am currently wearing Primarni's finest not Boden. I do like a good brew and a hob nob and am also partial to a bit of judginess (but only as part of my constant internal monologue!)

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 12/04/2013 14:29

I'm 22 and I live in Scotland, I don't have a degree. ADs but it's not because of my DS! :o

LittleDirewolfBitJoffrey · 12/04/2013 14:29

Nope. 27, living 2 hours from London and dropped out of uni.

SilveryMoon · 12/04/2013 14:34

I've always wondered what a stereotypical Mner was.
I'm in my 30's.
I live in outer-London.
I don't have a degree.
I'm not on Prozac now, came off them last year after popping them for 3 years.
I don't have a shite life. 'tis bareable Wink

Now off to read the whole thread to see if I can find out who Mners are

LittleEdie · 12/04/2013 14:57

42

South West

Degree

fromparistoberlin · 12/04/2013 15:08

I think the London MC bit is a red herring

I find it very interesting that NOONE seems to want to admit there are some nasty bitchy posters on here, and frankly even in the past 3 days some interactions on here (three to be precise) have made me wince

all in AIBU, or relationships

FACT some people when behind a keyboard are maybe naster than they are in RL

FACT people often jump on a bandwaggon, esp if its a MN friendly topic

FACT is someone is universally reviled (Liz Jones) people make some vile comments

FACT, and if you say MN is not predominatly MC...read any thread on baby ear piercing

I even posted once that I dont like how MN makes me be, and have really tried to moderate myself thereone

I really like MN, but I get frustrated how noone will take ownership for the fact its not perfect, and bullying does go on

warts and all

lightsandshapes · 12/04/2013 15:44

30s yes, degrees, a couple, live in Wales though and no need for Prozac here though I self medicate with cake and caffeine daily Brew

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 12/04/2013 15:45

a) can we spell B.A.N.D.W.A.G.O.N.?

b) I am NOT a fucking yummy mummy. I am a yoghurt knitting lentil weaver. So there.

c) Isn't it interesting the way 'feminist' is included in a list of apparently negative characteristics? If fminism is such anathema to her perhaps she can toddle off back to the kitchen to make her husband's tea and save us all from having to read ignore such self-seeking drivel.

Tortington · 12/04/2013 15:45

yes paris, you are right,

there are some right royal fuckers on here too

there are some of the funniest

saddest

happy

sad
lonley

wonderful

tory bastards

see my drift?

the media - for whatever reason, has seen fit recently to have a go at mumsnet, so i think mumsent is just having a bit of a de-brief, a 'self evaluation'

looking at the comments in some of the shitty papers

deciding that actually, to say that mn is full of londoners - is bollocks

and to say that we are all abunch of nasty bitches

is also in isolation, bollocks

this all has to be taken as a whole instead of on its own.

there are people that have helped others through bereavements - in fact mn helped me when i found my mum dead

they knit, bake sew for others, mumsnet buys xmas pressies for those who could do with cheering up - those who have had a shit year - and those who can't afford it.

mumsent is not MC Vipers

mumsnet does have some VIpers ( educated, MC or otherwise)

but thats not the whole story

plantsitter · 12/04/2013 15:56

Crap. It's me.
