How many of us actually meet Shona's little sidekicks criteria?
She states that all of us on Mumsnet are in our 30s, living in London and have a degree. How many people here meet that criteria?
How many are popping prozac depressed at the shit life we now have with kids?
Damn that woman is nasty!

Oblomov · 11/04/2013 18:05

Well, I think she has a point.
We all know she has.

I don't fit he category becasue:
I do: drink tea, like hobnobs.
But I am nowhere near 30, have 2 degrees, not feminist, not from norf london, no organic, no prozac, no boden.
But I am not a ymuumy mummy. I look like shona. wierd looking.

And I DO "resent loss identity, lack of short term gratificatin from motherhood brings".
I have all this anger and I have no idea where it comes from, because I was never angry when I first met dh.
Very odd.
Even I, once said a couple of really nasty things about Nigella Lawson, on MN. I wish I hadn't. And I am no fan of Amanda Holden.

But MN does have an angry nasty side. We all do know that this is true.

SarahStratton · 11/04/2013 18:09

MN saved me when I failed my ATOS thingy. I quite simply couldn't have sorted things without MN, God alone knows what I would have done.

I love MN for that.

MmeLindor · 11/04/2013 18:11

Oblomov
yes, MN does have a nasty side. Such is life.

I do think that it is challenged though, on the boards. Don't you?

dizzyhoneybee · 11/04/2013 18:11

No, I don't meet any of that criteria; wrong age, location, not on any medication and I don't have the degree (yet)

Eastpoint · 11/04/2013 18:11

45, no degree, no Prozac, Boden free, dislike Hobnobs, like my children BUT London.

dizzyhoneybee · 11/04/2013 18:12

Oh, and who is Shona anyway?!

VerySmallSqueak · 11/04/2013 18:14

Not London.
Not 30's.
No degree.
No pills.

HoneyDragon · 11/04/2013 18:14

I'm 34

Not in London

I have a degree funded by Mrs Thatcher actually

I don't wear Boden

I am a British manufacturer and SAHM

In short I'm the Daills Mails wet dream, but I think they are a bunch of pointless cockwombles. So I hang here.

Justine. You're doing us all proud. Don't let the weasels get you down Thanks

heronsfly · 11/04/2013 18:15

50 (ish)
Kent
6 children
No a-ds
Dont read dm
No degree.

VerySmallSqueak · 11/04/2013 18:15

Oh and,
Lovely kids.
2nd hand Boden but then,it's 2nd hand everything.
Biscuit free zone.

CorruptWalnut · 11/04/2013 18:17

Mid 30's
South Yorkshire (in an area where no stamp duty was paid for our house due to it being classed as an area of deprivation)
Degree
No prozac

MmeLindor · 11/04/2013 18:18

Justine
Can we get your mum on here? She sounds utterly fab.

duchesse · 11/04/2013 18:19

No, no, yes and no.

Usual bimbo-written DM tripe.

Sparklingbrook · 11/04/2013 18:20

Justine's Mum for a webchat Mme? Grin

Flugelpip · 11/04/2013 18:20

35, London, two children, not on Prozac but do have a bad DM-reading habit. I'm trying to kick it. I read the Boden catalogue but am too scruffy to spend that kind of money...

Is it controversial to say I feel sorry for Sibary? The DM sets her up to be a target and undoubtedly insists her kids are photographed with her in those cringey pics. opportunities for freelance journalists are limited and the DM pays very well. I also read a blog once (no link, sorry) about a novelist's experience of being rewritten in DM style. They edited her piece to be more provocative, to generate comments and page views. They are trolls, attention-seeking. Hate their editorial stance, not Shona.

JugglingFromHereToThere · 11/04/2013 18:23

"not on Prozac but do have a bad DM-reading habit. I'm trying to kick it." Flugel

See, that's the sort of wit and wisdom I love about this place Grin

DontCallMeBaby · 11/04/2013 18:27

I bloody love tea and HobNobs (dark choc, please) and I do appear to be dressed from neck to ankle in Boden today. I'm 40, have a degree, don't live in London, and am no longer on Prozac - I'm on other medication for life, which is equally as interesting and worthy of comment, ie not in the least.

I'm a little concerned about my mental health though, as if there's nothing uplifting (what, not even the bra intervention threads??) and life-affirming about MN then I must have imagined WoollyHugs. Which is quite a weird thing to imagine (as opposed to, say, Matt Smith in his pants or something).

MmeLindor · 11/04/2013 18:30

Flugel
yes, agree with that assessment. I have read a blog about DM twisting a story, but can't remember the details. It was shocking but not surprising, if you know what I mean.

Yes, Sparkling. Let's have Justine's mum on for a webchat.

HoneyDragon · 11/04/2013 18:30

Flugelpip

Nope not controversial, I think I agree with you a bit.

BloggingAboutTediousThings · 11/04/2013 18:32

I am in my twenties, have a degree, currently studying for a second degree while raising one, soon two, children. I live in a nice house in Greater London/Surrey and yes I like to spend money on naice things.

clam · 11/04/2013 18:35

You seriously reckon Justine is going to let her mum anywhere near us lot?

JugglingFromHereToThere · 11/04/2013 18:35

I'd like to read the article even if it does add a few pennies to the DM's coffers ... I tried the link on page 2 but slightly weirdly it brought me back to this thread - wondering what that's all about ? And is there another link here somewhere I could use ?

She might. Hmm

Where are the sidekicks, Jiz and whatserfaceIlovemyself with Asterix the gun toting OH? Why aren't they on the bandwagon?

MrsAFlowerpot · 11/04/2013 18:38

Late 20s, Home Counties, yes to degree but no prozac yet
