hi - i sent my appication to the jenny one and waited a week - someone on here said she was on holiday,. then on mon get e-mail to say jenny was out of office and send it through on info one - alysia e-mailed me back within ten minutes offering an appointment HTH

it was the first thing i noticed about IK was how many baby girls there are compared to all the other age groups - my sons age 4-5 only has 3 boys. its what swaying me actually - but know it might not stay that way for long.

mysonsmummy · 09/05/2006 14:10

trace - that links not working

mysonsmummy · 09/05/2006 14:13

izzy - thats odd they are seeing people in 3 weeks over half term. they seemed to have lots of appts though as i could have any day bank hol mon, sat or sun.

mysonsmummy u/a do see a lot of kids for assesment but you've got to remember they only do intakes twice a year. when we went in oct' they were seeing kids all day every day for seven days and they do turn quite a lot down you don't get told on the day, i guess they must look through all the photos then deceide who they are going to offer contracts to. but they are a great agency my dd have been offered loads of work/castings we haven't done all of them and thats what i like if you can't do a job they don't hold it against you.

strawberry thanks i got your email.

Perfumelady- I am not sure regarding the casting agencies. I am not 100% sure if its the right route for my son and I spoke to Carole at CS Management who seems very nice and someone on heres child is with them and said they are good (strawbs) , A and J management want to see him aswell yet I haven't booked an assesment with them. I thought I would see how this one goes and if they are right for us /visa versa and then make the decision if he goes for it. If we decide castings is good for us yet not the agent then I will put more effort in selecting other casting agencies. I have put a lot of effort into teh modelling I think the casting was more of an afterthought I am afraid!

julie4travel · 09/05/2006 14:37

Izzirubi- God knows on UA. Maybe they give out the definite nos then yes's and almost like maybes on lots of others and see what others are submitted in the meantime. Then judge them all! Glad I aren't in recruitment for models as I would find it so hard to pick

Madridmum · 09/05/2006 16:04

Hi zzyruby

Thanks for your reply - I'm on the right thread now I hope !
I've been reading through & you seem to know what you are talking about when it comes to modelling agencies - what is the scam with Models Direct ? (don't worry I haven't signed anything!).
The problem is I live in Spain (Madrid) for the most of the time, although have a base in the UK as well and I was looking for an agency that did work out here - if you or anyone else has any recommendations then let me know - thanks!

izzyrubi · 09/05/2006 17:15

Madridmum >> Models Direct is one of those agencies that accepts most kids that apply and charge a hefty fee and then never get work for 99.9% of the thousands of kids on their books, they've been on watch dog and all!
Must be lovely to live in Madrid!! How old is your lo? is he/she in Madrid or the UK mostly?

Julie >> I guess you're right, oh well, she'll have to wait and see!

sha11 · 09/05/2006 19:06

Hi all,o are with
izzy-thought CK was sole rep if so irene and mario are with both CK and IK and I thought u said the cover was with KL?

sha11 · 09/05/2006 19:07

oops funny computer keys mess up my typing..

izzyrubi · 09/05/2006 19:35

Hi there! Yes that's true on the magazine it says "Irene from Kids London" I was disturbed by that Grin
CK doesn't have any formal contracts like UA, KL, NC, ES, B&B and all the other sole rep agencies...

lanismum · 09/05/2006 20:16

sha11, hello, its been ages since you have posted, how is your little one getting on?

tigeryuan · 09/05/2006 21:30

hi sha11!
haven't heard from you for ages! is everything okay?

WhatAPalava · 10/05/2006 10:50

Hi all - Just wondering whether anyone on here has or knows anyone who's had a job through Alphabet Kidz. I'm tempted to join up my daughter but would like to know if they are successful with getting their kids work or if the more well known agencies get all the jobs. Thanks!

AllieBongo · 10/05/2006 10:55

my dd is with them. haven't had a sausage... I know others that have and they are quite reputable. Would try some bigger agencies first tbh.. ds is with MOT and we've been offered 6 castings since feb. hth!!!

julie4travel · 10/05/2006 10:55

Whatapalava- I think Izzirubi has her daughter with them along with a couple of other agencies she might be the best one to answer that.

strawberrymilkshake · 10/05/2006 11:23

When my dd went for casting there were children there for alphabet kids, i dont know if that helps.

sha11 · 10/05/2006 11:39

Hi Lanismum and tigeryuan,
I just catch up on here now and then, otherwise nothing on the modelling front, not even one casting from the 3 agencies we are with Sadmight just forget about the whole thing... but would still come on here to read what u lot have been upto..Smile

tigeryuan · 10/05/2006 11:52

hi shall.
my son only had one job done. nothing for us as well.

izzyrubi · 10/05/2006 11:59

WhatAPalava >> My daughter is with them and has done jobs and castings, a few days ago we went to a casting and met a mum of another baby that is with them and she's done loads of work... I do agree with Allie in trying bigger agencies first, my suggestions are Urban Angels, Kids London, MOT and Bruce & Brown first and then the other agencies... how old is your lo?

Allie >> Has El done any jobs since he started? How are you anyway? And them?
